Chapter 30 Happiness Stolen from Deanna

"Prepare to pack the luggage. Once I finish the documents, we'll head to the airport."

Hearing the command, Xavier nodded and glanced at the clock. It was still early.

He reminded, "Mr. Mercer, once we return home, we should immediately seek acupuncture treatment from Miss Jones."

Lance nodded; it was indeed time to start the treatment.

They then rushed to the airport and boarded the flight back home.

As they disembarked from the plane, Lance rubbed his temples, feeling a throbbing pain. The long flight had left him exhausted.

Outside the airport, the driver of the Mercer family was already waiting.

Seeing Lance, the driver bowed respectfully and said, "Mr. Mercer, the chairman has requested your presence at Raphael Howard's wedding tonight at eight."

Xavier frowned and checked his watch.

"Eight o'clock? It's already six. Shouldn't we head straight there? Mr. Mercer has been exhausted all week and needs rest."

He was worried about Mr. Mercer's health.

In his opinion, the priority should be contacting Miss Jones for treatment.

The driver looked at Lance, awaiting his decision.

Lance checked the time and said, "Let's go. It won't take long."

Xavier nodded reluctantly.

The car headed to the wedding venue.

At the Blue Whale Hotel, on the fourth-floor banquet hall, guests were gathering.

Among them were business elites and well-dressed celebrities.

Today, the heir of the Howard family and the lady of the Jones family were getting married here.

The union between Howard Group and Jones Group was a grand event.

The venue was decorated romantically and lavishly.

The floor was covered with luxurious marble, red silk draped around, and crystal chandeliers sparkled brightly.

A giant screen in the hall displayed short videos of Emily and Raphael.

Garrett Jones and Mia were dressed elegantly, standing with Raphael and his parents, Aiden Howard and Abigail Roberts, at the entrance, smiling and greeting guests.

"Mr. Howard, congratulations on winning such a beautiful bride!"

Guests smiled as they handed over their gifts.

"Thank you."

Raphael responded politely with a smile.

"I'm truly delighted that you could attend Emily and Raphael's wedding." Mia exchanged pleasantries. Marrying into the Howard family was a blessing for Emily.

With greater backing, Emily would have better resources in the entertainment industry.

"Emily is so beautiful. She and our Raphael are a perfect match. By the way, where is Emily?"

Abigail chatted warmly but seemed to have not seen Emily yet.

Garrett replied, "She's upstairs changing. She's a bit slow. Mrs. Howard, please bear with her."

Abigail's eyes crinkled with a smile. "We're family now. Once married, Emily is one of us. We'll be nice to her!"

Both families were pleased with this union.

This alliance would strengthen both Jones Group and Howard Group.

Flashbulbs went off constantly as photographers captured the event.

Besides businessmen and celebrities, many media outlets were present.

Emily was a rising star in the entertainment industry.

Her wedding announcement had gone viral on Facebook.

"Emily and Raphael's wedding" had been trending on Facebook for two days straight.

"Mr. Howard, can you share your feelings right now?"

"How did you and Miss Jones get together? Can you tell us?"

Reporters surrounded Raphael with questions, which he answered politely.

"I'm very happy to marry Emily."

Upstairs in the bridal suite, Emily was ready.

She wore a white wedding dress, looking exquisite and beautiful.

She admired herself in the mirror. "How do I look?"

Her manager and assistant stood beside her.

"My Miss Jones, you look stunning!"

The assistant flattered her, touching the soft fabric of her dress.

"With your looks, anything would look good on you."

Emily brushed her hand away to avoid getting dirty.

She smiled brightly. "I think I look my best today."

Her agent Elizabeth glanced at her phone while speaking. "Your fans are all sending their blessings on Facebook. This wedding is highly anticipated; you're the most dazzling bride today!"

Assistant Natalie looked envious. She wished she could get married too.

"Miss, Mr. Howard treats you so well. Look at these flowers flown in from abroad, a twelve-carat diamond ring, a custom-made wedding dress designed just for you. It's too perfect!"

Elizabeth sighed wistfully. "Is this what a mutually loving marriage looks like? Ah, the sweet scent of love."

Her words betrayed undisguised jealousy.

"Who else would Raphael treat well if not me?"

Emily raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, you two are a perfect match."

Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

Emily's eyes sparkled with sweetness and pride.

Such a wonderful Raphael would soon be hers alone.

Although she had taken all this from Deanna, what did it matter?

Everything should belong to her anyway!
