After entering the room, Lance immediately started undressing and then lay comfortably on Deanna's bed.
Seeing this, Deanna quickly collected her scattered thoughts and began the treatment.
Because acupuncture required full concentration, she didn't notice someone spying outside the door.
Lance, perhaps relaxed by the treatment, also didn't notice anything outside.
Outside the door, Chloe and Gregory crouched, whispering to each other.
"It seems our previous plan had some effect," Gregory said with a gleam in his eye.
Chloe nodded in agreement. "I saw Uncle Lance glaring at Uncle Landon several times just now."
Hearing this, Gregory showed a sly smile. "In that case, we need to strike while the iron is hot."
"But what should we do next? Should we continue to provoke Uncle Lance?" Chloe asked, puzzled.
Gregory shook his head without hesitation. "No, this trick should only be used occasionally. If overused, it might backfire."
"Oh, then how do we strike while the iron is hot?"
"We'll ask Godmother. She'll definitely have a way," Gregory said and then ran off.
Chloe hurriedly followed.
The phone call was quickly connected, and Gregory got straight to the point.
Finally, he asked, "What should we do now to further improve Uncle Lance's relationship with Mommy?"
"That's simple. I'll teach you..." Julia gave the two little ones some advice over the phone.
The two listened intently, nodding repeatedly.
After a while, they reappeared at the bedroom door, peeking inside.
By this time, Deanna had finished the acupuncture and naturally noticed the commotion at the door.
She turned her head and saw the two standing there. "What are you two doing there?" she asked with a smile.
"We're waiting for you, Mommy," they said in unison.
Deanna raised her eyebrows. "Waiting for me? For what?"
"Godmother called earlier and said she has lots of movie tickets and invited us to watch a movie," Gregory said straightforwardly.
Chloe quickly added, "There are five tickets in total. I asked Great-Grandmother, and she said she wouldn't go, so there's one extra ticket."
"And?" Deanna looked at them, already having a guess in her mind.
Sure enough, the next second, Chloe looked at her expectantly. "Mommy, can we invite Uncle to join us with the extra ticket?"
Deanna hesitated, unsure how to respond. After all, as the president of Mercer Group, Lance was very busy and probably didn't have time.
She was about to say no to avoid any trouble when Lance's deep, smiling voice interrupted her. "Of course."
"Great! We can watch a movie with Uncle!" The two little ones cheered happily.
Seeing this, Deanna felt it was not appropriate but didn't want to dampen the children's spirits, so she swallowed her words.
After discussing this matter, the two stayed with Lance during the treatment.
Time passed minute by minute.
After about an hour and a half, the treatment ended, and Lance bid farewell to Deanna and her children.
Before leaving, he didn't forget to arrange with Deanna to watch the movie the next day.
...
The next morning, at Mercer Group's president's office.
Xavier began his usual work report. "Mr. Mercer, you have five meetings today: the board meeting in the morning, an executive meeting, and in the afternoon, a finance meeting and a market project meeting. You also have a business dinner tonight."
"Cancel tonight's dinner. I promised Chloe and Gregory to watch a movie with them," Lance instructed in a deep voice.
Xavier nodded. "I'll contact them to reschedule."
Then he remembered it was Mr. Mercer's first time watching a movie with someone and couldn't help but remind him. "Mr. Mercer, don't forget to buy snacks and drinks for Mister and Missy tonight. Those are essential for watching a movie."
"Alright, I'll remember." Lance accepted Xavier's suggestion openly since he had no dating experience.
Meanwhile, Deanna received a call from her best friend.
"Deanna, don't forget about the movie tonight."
"Don't worry, I remember," Deanna replied with amusement. "Do you think my memory is that bad?"
Julia laughed. "Yes! Have you forgotten how you stood me up before?"
Hearing her friend's teasing about past mishaps, Deanna had no retort.
After some playful banter, Julia seemed to have something to do but didn't forget her purpose for calling. "I'll finish work early tonight and pick up Gregory and Chloe. You can leave directly from home. We'll meet at the cinema to avoid running around unnecessarily."
"Okay, I got it," Deanna agreed with a nod.
