The two little ones had bright eyes and looked a bit excited.
"So, Uncle wants to pursue our mommy?"
"If that's the case, we can accept it. Let the handsome uncle be our daddy."
They each said a sentence, looking at Julia expectantly.
Julia nodded affirmatively, "Absolutely, trust my intuition."
"We trust you, godmother," the two little ones said firmly.
Then they couldn't help but sigh, "But when will Uncle Lance finally catch up with Mommy?"
"Well, that depends on you."
Julia's eyes sparkled as if she had thought of something, and she chuckled, "If you want Uncle Lance to become your daddy soon, you can play matchmaker and help Uncle Lance pursue your mommy."
"What's a matchmaker?" Chloe asked, eager to learn.
Gregory also looked over, full of curiosity.
Julia beckoned them to come closer, indicating she wanted to whisper.
Watching the three of them huddled together, whispering, Old Ashley found it amusing but did not stop them.
After spending so much time together, she had a good impression of Mr. Mercer.
If Mr. Mercer became her granddaughter's husband, she had no objections.
At this moment, Deanna finished cooking and came out of the kitchen, seeing her two children and friend whispering mysteriously, not knowing what they were talking about.
Though she was a bit puzzled, she didn't ask but instead called out, "Dinner is ready, Julia. Can you take Gregory and Chloe to wash their hands?"
"Sure," Julia responded, and the three of them nonchalantly went to wash their hands.
During dinner, they ate happily and warmly.
Especially the two little ones, whose tummies were round and full.
After dinner, Julia left.
The two little ones played with Lego in the living room.
Chloe was seriously building with Lego.
Gregory was holding a phone, doing something unknown.
When Deanna finished washing the dishes and came out, seeing this scene, she thought he was playing games and reminded him, "Gregory, don't play games for too long. It's bad for your eyes."
"I know, mommy," Gregory nodded.
But in fact, he wasn't playing games but chatting with Landon.
At that moment, his phone vibrated. It was a reply from Landon.
"What's up, Gregory?"
"Nothing much, just wondering if you could come over to our house more often these days?"
Gregory typed quickly, a sly gleam in his bright eyes.
Soon, Landon sent a question mark, seeming not to understand Gregory's meaning.
Gregory pursed his lips and typed again, "My sister and I miss you. We really, really hope you can come and play with us."
"Last time you came, you didn't really spend time with us. Don't you want to play with us?"
"What should we do? My sister and I really like playing with you, and we really, really like you."
"Uncle, please come. I'll have mommy make something delicious."
Faced with the little guy's sweet words and adorable pleading, Landon was completely overwhelmed.
In the end, he agreed, "Okay, I'll come over tomorrow to play with you."
...
The next afternoon, Landon eagerly brought toys and a bunch of goodies to Deanna's rental house.
Seeing the man with bags outside the door, Deanna was a bit surprised, "Why are you here?"
"I'm here to see my precious nephew and niece."
After saying that, Landon squeezed past Deanna, striding into the house, happily calling out, "Gregory and Chloe, come see what I brought for you."
Hearing this, Gregory warmly welcomed him.
"Uncle, you're finally here. I missed you so much."
As he spoke, he hugged Landon affectionately.
Chloe was a bit confused seeing her brother's attitude.
Gregory naturally noticed his sister's gaze and winked at her secretly.
Chloe instantly understood and, catching on to her brother's intent, joyfully followed suit, "Uncle, Chloe missed you too."
Landon was delighted to see the two little ones so happy to see him.
"I missed you too. I will visit you often from now on."
As he spoke, he hugged the two little ones, one in each arm.
Deanna watched the three of them being so close and couldn't quite react.
Since when did her two kids become so fond of Landon?
Last time they met, they were still distant.
Deanna noticed the shopping bags Landon had brought and chuckled, "Why did you buy so many things?"
Old Ashley showed disapproval. "Landon, don't bring so much stuff next time."
"Grandma, I bought these for Gregory and Chloe. It's no big deal. There's no need to be so formal, right, Deanna?" Landon said, looking at Deanna.
Deanna could only accept the things he brought.
