Chapter 225 Something Seems Off

Sariah, in her anger, did not notice the eyes on her from all around.

She glared at Deanna with fiery eyes, shouting, "I knew you were up to no good. If anything happens to my grandfather, I will never forgive you!"

Deanna stood up straight, her face darkening.

Especially as she watched Sariah's relentless cursing, her words becoming increasingly harsh and unrestrained. Finally, Deanna could not bear it any longer and slapped her.

Sariah was stunned, holding her cheek, unable to react for a long time.

Deanna withdrew her hand and said coldly, "Are you calm now?"

Hearing this, Sariah finally found her voice and glared back angrily.

"How dare you hit me!"

"Why wouldn't I? Earlier, you were being spoiled and willful, and I didn't hold it against you. That was my upbringing!"

Deanna looked at her fearlessly, her aura growing stronger. "A person who is ignorant and doesn't know how to restrain themselves is something I cannot tolerate. If you don't want to treat your grandfather, then take him and leave!"

The last word was emphasized, shocking Sariah into silence.

It took several seconds for Sariah to react and start to argue again.

"You caused my grandfather's condition to worsen, and now you want us to leave? Dream on!"

"I tell you, if anything happens to my grandfather, even killing you wouldn't be enough to atone!"

Old Hughes and Efrain had just finished examining Old Osborne and happened to hear this. Their faces immediately darkened.

"Enough!" Old Hughes suddenly shouted.

The sudden voice startled Sariah.

She looked at Old Hughes, who exuded authority without anger, and fear appeared in her eyes. She restrained herself a bit and timidly asked, "Old Hughes, how is my grandfather? Did this woman make his condition worse?"

Unexpectedly, Old Hughes looked at her and scolded her as a fool.

Sariah was dumbfounded by the scolding.

Before she could speak again, Old Hughes said in a low voice, "Do you know that Anna just saved your grandfather's life? The blood he spat out was clotted blood blocking his airway. If it hadn't come out, he might not have lasted two months!"

"What?"

Sariah looked at Deanna in shock.

Clearly, she hadn't expected Deanna to be so skilled.

Seeing this, Old Hughes snorted lightly. "You treat your savior as an enemy. If I had known it would cause so much trouble, I wouldn't have let you in!"

Hearing this, Sariah realized things were not going well.

She could be flexible when needed and immediately began to apologize.

"I didn't mean to cause trouble. I was just worried about my grandfather when I saw him spitting blood."

"Miss Osborne, not everything can be resolved with an apology."

Old Hughes spoke coldly and muttered regretfully, "If I had known it would cause so much trouble, I wouldn't have let you in. Since you don't trust the doctors in my clinic, take your grandfather and leave."

Sariah's face changed drastically upon hearing this.

She no longer cared about saving face and quickly apologized to Deanna.

"Dr. Deanna, I know I was wrong. Please ask Old Hughes not to drive us away."

"..."

Deanna said nothing, her eyes lowered, making it impossible to see her emotions.

Seeing this, Sariah's eyes filled with unwillingness and hatred.

But she hid it well and continued to plead, "Dr. Deanna, you've already started the treatment. How can a doctor stop halfway? As long as you save my grandfather, I'll do anything."

"The most difficult part of your grandfather's condition has been dealt with. The remaining issues can be treated in any hospital outside. Miss Osborne, instead of entangling with me here, it's better to take your grandfather to the hospital sooner so he can be more comfortable."

Deanna spoke gently but clearly.

Sariah was left speechless.

At this point, Old Hughes had lost his patience and called security to move Old Osborne out of the treatment room.

Sariah was completely dumbfounded.

People outside saw Old Osborne being moved out and gathered around with concern.

"Is he cured? Why does Old Osborne look so unwell?"

"I also think something seems off."

As people discussed this, Old Hughes came out and made a statement. "Because Miss Osborne does not trust the doctors in my clinic, the treatment has ended. Any future issues with this patient are unrelated to my clinic."

This statement caused an uproar among the onlookers.

"If she didn't trust the doctors, why did she beg them to treat her grandfather earlier?"

"Exactly. Isn't this wasting our time?"

"I feel sorry for Dr. Deanna. She was harassed for no reason in the morning but still kindly treated the patient in the afternoon, only for this to happen."

Sariah's face turned pale with anger and shame. Despite her unwillingness, she had no choice but to leave with her people.

Deanna was in a bad mood because of this incident.

Seeing this, Old Hughes kindly suggested, "Why don't you go home? If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have asked you to come and let you suffer."

"It's okay. I'll adjust myself. No need to go back."

Deanna shook her head and refused before heading back inside.
