Chapter 222 Astonished

"You really have a knack for this, young lady. No wonder Old Hughes appreciates you so much. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time," the old man laughed heartily as he walked out of the treatment room, praising Deanna.

Hearing this, the others couldn't help but show expressions of surprise. Could it be that the eldest daughter of the Jones family was truly a skilled doctor?

Meanwhile, Efrain approached with a curious look on his face. "Dr. Deanna, I was watching your acupuncture technique from outside. It seemed a bit different."

He had arrived when Deanna entered the treatment room. Hearing that Deanna was treating a veteran, and knowing how highly his grandfather regarded her, he became curious and went to observe from the window.

Deanna was aware that Efrain had been watching from outside. She smiled lightly and said, "It's essentially the same; I just use different acupuncture points."

After all, she had learned acupuncture from her master, who was likely a descendant of ancient medical practices, making her technique unique.

Seeing that Efrain wanted to ask more, she quickly added, "I know what you want to ask. I'll explain the acupuncture points to you later. Right now, we need to focus on the free clinical treatment."

"Alright, just don't forget," Efrain nodded, his scholarly demeanor making him quite pleasant.

Deanna chuckled, "Don't worry, I won't forget."

With that, they began the free clinical treatment. Although many doubted Deanna's skills, some decided to give her a chance after seeing the long queues for other doctors.

Deanna didn't mind and treated everyone diligently. As the day went on, the number of patients outside didn't seem to decrease, and many were waiting in line.

For a while, Deanna and her team were incredibly busy. Finally, lunchtime arrived, giving the doctors a brief respite to rest.

However, their break was short-lived as they resumed the free clinical treatment due to the sheer number of patients waiting outside.

Meanwhile, at Mercer Group, Lance had just finished a meeting and returned to his office. Xavier followed closely behind, reporting on upcoming tasks.

At that moment, Lance asked an unrelated question. "How are things at the Hughes family clinic?"

"Uh..." Xavier paused for a moment before responding, "I'll contact someone to find out."

Lance said nothing, implicitly giving his approval. Shortly after, Xavier ended the call and respectfully reported, "The clinic is quite busy; many people from various circles have gone there."

"Did I ask for that?" Lance shot him a glance.

Xavier hesitated before continuing, "Dr. Deanna is doing well. Initially, many people doubted her skills, but she eventually won them over with her medical expertise."

Hearing this, Lance didn't say anything, but the smile on his lips betrayed his pleased mood.

Observing this, Xavier increasingly felt that Mr. Mercer had a special regard for Dr. Deanna. Otherwise, why would he specifically ask about her situation?

In the afternoon, Lance went to meet a client near the Hughes family clinic. After the meeting, he instructed Xavier to head to the clinic.

When they arrived, there were many people outside. Recognizing Lance immediately but deterred by his cold demeanor, no one dared to approach him.

Thus, Lance walked into the clinic unimpeded. Inside, he saw Deanna seriously attending to a patient and was instantly captivated.

Sensing his gaze, Deanna looked up and asked, "Mr. Mercer, what brings you here?"

"I just came by to take a look," Lance replied calmly.

Deanna nodded without overthinking it. "Wait a moment; I'll finish with this patient first."

A few minutes later, she completed the treatment and walked over to Lance. "Mr. Mercer, since you're here, how about I check on you?"

"No need; I'm feeling quite well today," Lance declined with a shake of his head.

He glanced at the long queue outside and asked with concern, "Are you tired?"

For some reason, Deanna felt warmth in her heart upon hearing this. "I'm not tired; I can manage. Don't worry."

Though she said this, Deanna was indeed feeling somewhat exhausted since acupuncture required significant mental effort.

Unaware of this, Lance nodded and advised, "If you get tired, take a break. You just recovered; don't overexert yourself and worry your child."

"I understand," Deanna replied with a smile.

Outside patients watched their conversation in astonishment. They hadn't expected that the young Dr. Deanna knew the famous Lance and seemed to have a good relationship with him.

As people murmured among themselves, Sariah suddenly rushed out from the crowd in a panic. "Old Hughes, please save my grandfather! He's having an attack and is in great pain!"
