Lance picked up the photos but didn't hurry to speak. The photos were taken from various angles and locations, including him leaving Deanna's house and Deanna leaving his place, all very clear.
Lance gripped the photos tightly and explained, "Mom, Dr. Deanna is my attending doctor, but we're also friends. Helping each other is quite normal. She has helped me a lot, and my recovery is largely thanks to her. If she needs help and I can assist, I naturally would."
This served as an explanation to Samantha about the photos. Samantha knew that Lance wasn't the kind of person who would mess around outside, which gave her some peace of mind.
Samantha nodded and reminded, "I know your character, but no matter what, you need to do things with proper boundaries. If someone finds out and takes advantage, it won't be good!"
Hearing this, Lance nodded, indicating he understood. He gripped the photos and suddenly asked, "Mom, where did you get these photos?"
Looking at the photos in his hand, his gaze deepened, and his expression darkened. Someone had followed them all day, and he hadn't noticed. Either his vigilance had decreased, or the follower's skills were extremely high.
Samantha replied, "These photos were sent anonymously. I saw them as soon as I got home this afternoon."
After hearing this, Lance fell silent. The anonymously sent photos clearly had ulterior motives. He nodded and didn't say anything further.
After dinner, Lance was called to the study by Logan Mercer.
The two discussed some recent work before leaving. As soon as Lance stepped out the door, Xavier was already waiting with a car.
Once inside the car, Lance's tone became chillingly cold, his eyes icy to the extreme. "Someone has been following me lately. Investigate and find out who it is."
Sensing the cold air emanating from Lance, Xavier didn't dare to slack off and nodded promptly. "Yes, Mr. Mercer, I understand."
Having been by Lance's side for many years, Xavier knew that his young master despised being followed. Trying to control his life was a surefire way to court disaster.
The next day, Lance was in his office handling documents when Xavier walked in from outside.
"Come in," Lance said.
Xavier walked up to Lance, dragging someone behind him. "Mr. Mercer, I've found the person who was following you."
Following Xavier's voice, Lance looked up. He saw a man with a sneaky look and a camera around his neck standing beside Xavier.
Clearly, this was the person who had been following him recently. Lance's sharp eyes narrowed as he shot a look at Xavier. Xavier quickly understood and took the camera from the man's neck, handing it to Lance.
"Mr. Mercer."
Lance took it and casually skimmed through it. As expected, the camera contained various photos of him, including one from the morning outside his office. Instantaneously, a layer of frost covered Lance's face, his expression sinking to an extreme level.
Without another word, he took the camera and smashed it forward. The camera landed right in front of Lee, who dodged just in time. If he had been a second slower, it wouldn't just be the camera that was shattered.
Seeing the camera broken on the ground, one could imagine the force Lance used. Lee, drenched in cold sweat, hurriedly begged for forgiveness. "Mr. Mercer, I was wrong! Mr. Mercer, please don't dwell on it and give me another chance!"
Lance's voice was icy, "Who ordered you?"
His face, profoundly stern, was as if he had walked out of hell itself. Lee turned pale with fear, "I... Mr. Mercer..."
He wanted to hide it, but the pressure from Lance was too intense. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and finally, unable to bear it, he knelt on the ground.
"I'll talk! I'll talk! Mr. Mercer, it was Bella from the Cody family who ordered me!"
"Bella?"
Lee nodded quickly, "Yes, Mr. Mercer, it was all her doing! It really has nothing to do with me! Mr. Mercer, please give me another chance! I'm truly sorry!"
Upon obtaining the useful information, Lee was dragged out immediately. Lance's cold voice rang out, and his face sank even further.
"From now on, all business with the Cody family goes through the general manager; they should not come to me."
Xavier nodded urgently, "Understood, Mr. Mercer."
He shook his head quietly. He knew that this time, Mr. Mercer was utterly enraged. Bella had completely crossed Lance's bottom line.
Xavier secretly thought that with a personality like Bella's, she indeed wasn't suitable for Mr. Mercer.
Now they were not even together yet, Bella was already trying to track Lance.
If they really got together, who knows how possessive Bella would become in the future.
It was better if they were not together!
