Deanna was unaware of Chloe's thoughts. Seeing the little one so well-behaved, she smiled, thinking Chloe had taken all her words to heart.
"Alright, since you know your mistake, go play now!"
In the evening, Lance sent a message.
"Is the parent-teacher meeting tomorrow?"
Deanna nodded and quickly sent him the meeting time.
"Tomorrow morning, we need to go early. The teacher said there are activities planned."
Lance agreed immediately, "Okay."
The so-called parent-teacher meeting was actually just some parent-child activities organized by the kindergarten.
Parents would come and play interactive games with the kids. It wasn't difficult at all.
Deanna sent the activity schedule to Lance and didn't forget to thank him.
"Mr. Mercer, I'm sorry to trouble you again."
Lance quickly replied, "Dr. Deanna, I've told you, no need to be so formal with me."
Early the next morning, Deanna and the two little ones had just finished breakfast when Lance arrived at their doorstep.
Seeing Lance so early, Deanna was a bit surprised.
"So early!"
"Mr. Mercer, please come in."
Lance nodded slightly and walked into the house.
"I came early to pick you all up."
As soon as he entered, the two little ones rushed out excitedly upon hearing his voice.
"Handsome Uncle!"
"Good morning, Handsome Uncle."
They were clearly overjoyed.
Deanna stood by and quickly called out, "You two, hurry up and change your clothes. Mr. Mercer is here; don't keep him waiting too long."
The two little ones nodded quickly and said, "Okay, Mommy."
Then they looked up at Lance.
"Handsome Uncle, wait for us a bit. We'll change and be right back."
With that, they ran towards their room on their short little legs.
Seeing this, Old Ashley couldn't help but laugh.
"Mr. Mercer, these two little ones really trouble you."
Lance shook his head. "It's no trouble."
He thought perhaps he had a special bond with these two little ones. Normally not one to engage much with others, he found himself quite fond of them and thought they were very cute.
Deanna went back to her room to tidy up briefly. Soon after, they set off.
Many parents had already arrived at the kindergarten.
It was almost time for the activities to start.
At that moment, Deanna walked in holding Gregory's hand while Lance held Chloe's hand.
Two adults and two children with good looks drew a lot of attention.
For a moment, everyone turned their heads to look at them.
One had to admit, the four of them standing together really looked like a family!
Just then, a classmate ran over to Chloe.
She walked up to Chloe and asked softly, "Chloe, is this uncle your daddy?"
The child blinked her eyes, full of curiosity and brightness.
Chloe looked up at Lance holding her hand, then nodded heavily and answered proudly, "Yes, this is my daddy!"
Instantly, the classmate exclaimed in amazement.
"Chloe, your daddy is so handsome!"
The classmate glanced at Gregory and whispered, "And your brother looks a lot like your daddy!"
Chloe was even more pleased. "Of course!"
She seemed happier than if someone had complimented her directly.
The two children chatted away in their own world.
Deanna stood by, momentarily stunned.
She instinctively looked at Gregory, Chloe, and Lance in confusion.
Did Gregory look like Mr. Mercer? She didn't think so.
Soon after, all the parents had arrived. At that moment, the teacher came over to gather everyone.
"Parents, please come over here. We're going to take attendance now."
After a simple roll call, the teacher explained the rules.
"Alright, parents, today's parent day involves playing some parent-child activities like a three-legged race. These games aim to enhance the parent-child relationship effectively. I know many parents have taken time off to be here. Rest assured, the activities won't take too long and won't occupy much of your time."
"But before that, we need to have a brief meeting."
The teacher then went over the kindergarten's activity schedule with the parents and explained their educational philosophy and guidelines for a general understanding.
"Alright, that's all for today's meeting. Are there any questions or anything you'd like to know more about? If not, we'll move on to our parent-child activities."
As soon as these words were spoken, the children became excited.
"Hooray!"
"We can play games now!"
