"Chloe, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Keenan looked at the girl in front of him with gentle eyes, his palms sweating from nervousness.
Chloe was stunned for a moment, then a radiant smile bloomed on her face. "I will!"
Seeing the beautiful smile on the girl's face, Keenan also showed a clear smile.
In the sunlight, the handsome man and beautiful woman looked very well-matched.
Hidden in the corner, Julia and Deanna saw this and started discussing excitedly.
"They must have confessed to each other. Otherwise, how could Chloe smile so brightly?"
"They must have. Look, they're sitting together!"
"As expected, I'm still good at this matchmaking thing. Every time I set a girl up with a boy, it works perfectly."
Julia became self-satisfied as she spoke.
Deanna looked at her speechlessly, thinking that if the boy didn't like Chloe, Julia's rash actions might have made them cut ties with each other.
After watching for a while and satisfying their curiosity, they quietly sat down and started ordering food.
Since they were already there, they decided to eat something.
During the meal, Deanna sighed, "Unknowingly, the kids have grown up and found their own partners."
"Yes, we are getting old too."
Julia sighed as well.
Then she looked at her best friend across the table and asked, "Do you have any plans next?"
"I plan to take a half-month break to spend time with Lance and the kids, then work on new projects."
Deanna didn't hide her thoughts.
Julia listened with a complicated expression. "You are becoming more career-minded."
"That's because I love this field."
Deanna smiled back.
As they were talking, they heard a sharp voice nearby. "Gregory, stop right there!"
Hearing this voice, Deanna and Julia exchanged glances, both thinking the same thing.
Could it be such a coincidence that in this small restaurant, they encountered the siblings?
Chloe was also surprised and looked blankly in Gregory's direction.
"Gregory?!"
"Chloe?!"
Gregory also saw Chloe at this moment and the boy beside her. He frowned and said discontentedly, "Did Father arrange a blind date for you too?"
Yes, Gregory was there because Lance had arranged a blind date for him.
Chloe was stunned and quickly shook her head after realizing what was happening.
"No, this is my boyfriend."
After she said that, she curiously looked at her brother and the angry girl beside him. "Are you here for a blind date?"
"No!"
Gregory denied with a dark face.
The next second, the girl beside him exposed him. "We are on a blind date. You must be Chloe. I've heard your violin playing; it's very beautiful. I even bought two CDs to keep at home."
"Hello, and you are?"
Chloe asked politely.
The girl introduced herself warmly. "I'm Carissa White, the second daughter of the White family. My elder sister is Sherlyn White. Your brother was supposed to meet my sister, but she didn't like him, so I came instead. But I like your brother. I plan to pursue him. So, future sister-in-law, can we be friends? Can I pay you to help me chase your brother?"
Julia and Deanna couldn't help but laugh at these words.
Hearing this sound, Chloe and Gregory both looked over with strange expressions.
Carissa also cast an inquisitive glance at them and immediately recognized Deanna.
"Are you Ms. Jones? I've seen you in person! The real Ms. Jones!"
The young girl was excited like a little fan girl. She happily approached Deanna and took out a pen and paper from her bag, looking expectantly at her. "Ms. Jones, can you give me an autograph?"
Deanna was a bit surprised.
She didn't expect that her son's blind date would be one of her fans.
"Of course."
She said as she took the pen and paper and signed her name. Then she seemed to think of something and asked, "What do you do?"
The girl said, "I'm studying medicine like you, Ms. Jones, but I'm studying Western medicine. I just graduated from abroad and am looking for an internship at a hospital."
The young girl revealed all her information in one go.
Deanna listened with a smile on her face and wrote a blessing for a bright future in the notebook.
"Keep up the good work!"
She said as she handed back the notebook and pen to the young girl.
Carissa nodded and said with a bright smile, "I aspire to be someone like you, Ms. Jones!"
Hearing this, Deanna smiled at her and then looked at the others present, raising an eyebrow. "Since we met here, let's sit down and have a meal together."
"Sure."
Carissa agreed without hesitation.
Naturally, Gregory and Chloe wouldn't refuse either.
For a moment, only Keenan felt a bit uneasy among them.
Deanna noticed this too and smiled warmly at him. "Don't be nervous. Just think of it as having a meal with friends."
"Yes!"
Although he said so, Keenan was still very nervous.
He never expected that on the first day of confirming his relationship with his girlfriend, he would meet her family.
Deanna saw this and knew it would be hard to persuade him otherwise for now. So she stopped focusing on him and turned her attention to her son and Carissa.
"I heard you say earlier that you were on a blind date. How did it go?"
"He didn't like me, but I liked him. I want to pursue him. Ms. Jones won't stop me, right?"
Carissa confessed boldly without any shyness, her demeanor graceful and not offensive at all.
Deanna and Julia both felt an instant liking for Carissa's straightforward personality.
"Of course I won't stop you, but I won't help either."
Deanna meant what she said.
Gregory was different from Chloe; he had a steady personality and didn't like others meddling in his affairs.
As for her future daughter-in-law's choice, Deanna had long decided that as long as her son liked the person, she wouldn't care about gender or wealth.
She only wanted her son to be happy and for them to be together without regrets.
After all, when she was with Lance back then, they had suffered because of family backgrounds.
Carissa didn't know this. Hearing Deanna's words, she couldn't hide her disappointment. "I've wanted to please you to get closer to Gregory. But it seems that's not going to work. However, I won't give up. I'll make you like me!"
She cheered herself up energetically and looked at Gregory with determination.
Their eyes met.
Through the girl's clear eyes, Gregory saw his own reflection and felt something unusual in his heart.
"Don't talk big!"
He sneered lightly.
Carissa raised an eyebrow. "I'm not talking big. Just wait; I'll make you like me!"
And thus began another story-
(The End)
