Upon hearing this, Chloe's attention was immediately drawn to Deanna.
"Isn't it just me, Gregory, and godmother?"
She looked at Deanna in confusion. Could there have been others who helped bring her parents together?
To her surprise, Deanna nodded in agreement. "Yes, it was you, Gregory, and your godmother who helped a lot back then. It took all three of you a great deal of effort to get your dad and me together. Think about it, isn't it hard to pursue someone you like all by yourself?"
"That makes some sense."
Chloe was suddenly persuaded by her mother and instinctively said, "Then, Mom, you and godmother should help me think of a way..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she glared at her mother angrily, "Bad Mommy, you're tricking me again!"
Deanna couldn't hold back this time and burst into laughter.
"You silly girl, you're still as easy to fool as when you were little!"
She laughed so hard that tears came out.
Seeing this, Chloe got even more upset and reached out to tickle Deanna in retaliation. "Bad Mommy, take this!"
The mother and daughter laughed and played in the hot spring.
In contrast to their warmth, the men's bath was much quieter.
"You brat, you were so cute when you were little. Now the older you get, the more annoying you become."
Lance listened to the laughter from next door and found his two sons increasingly irritating.
Gregory glanced up with a look that seemed carved from the same mold and snorted lightly. "Right back at you."
Jaron watched Gregory and their father bicker while he huddled in a corner, feeling small and insignificant.
From a young age, he knew his status in the family was the lowest.
Lance, unaware of his younger son's thoughts, suddenly had an idea as he looked at his eldest son.
"You're not getting any younger. Instead of thinking about someone else's wife all day, why don't you find your own? Or I can have your grandmother arrange a blind date for you."
Yes, Lance's idea was to get Gregory married.
Once the boy had his own wife, he wouldn't be thinking about Lance's anymore.
But how could his plan escape Gregory? "I'm only twenty-one. I'm not even legally old enough to get married."
"No problem. I'm an open-minded parent. We can have the ceremony first and get the license later."
"I don't have anyone I like!"
"You'll find someone if you interact with more girls."
Lance and Gregory went back and forth, neither willing to give an inch.
In the end, Gregory's youthful temper got the best of him, and he stormed out of the bath in a huff.
Watching him disappear, Lance leaned back against the edge of the bath with a smug grin. "You think you can beat me?"
Jaron saw his father's mischievous smile and awkwardly rubbed his nose.
To avoid getting caught in the crossfire, he quickly offered to leave before Lance could say anything.
"Dad, I'm done soaking. I'll head out now."
"Wait!"
Lance called him back and instructed, "Go to the adjacent bath and bring Chloe over."
Jaron felt the difficulty of the task. "What if she doesn't want to come?"
"If she doesn't come? Then for the next six months, forget about any activities. You'll be working under your brother at the company!"
Lance hit Jaron's weak spot directly.
Jaron loved acting more than anything and dreaded working under his brother.
Recalling the torment from those days, Jaron shivered and immediately agreed. "I promise I'll get it done."
With that said, he left without looking back.
On the other side, Chloe and Deanna had tired themselves out from playing and were resting by the pool's edge.
At that moment, a staff member knocked on the door from outside. "Miss Chloe, Master Jaron requests your presence. He says it's urgent."
"Jaron? What does he want with me?"
Chloe frowned but didn't move.
Clearly, she didn't want to go.
Deanna seemed to realize something and persuaded her. "Since Jaron says it's urgent, you should go see what he needs."
Hearing this, Chloe couldn't refuse and nodded in agreement.
Before leaving, she made sure to act spoiled with Deanna. "Mommy, wait here for me. I'll be back soon."
"Alright, I'll wait here for you!"
Deanna smiled and nodded but kept one thought to herself.
Who knows if you'll be back soon or if your dad will be quicker?
Yes, Deanna had already guessed that Jaron's request was Lance's doing to get Chloe out of the way.
And indeed, that was the case.
Not long after Chloe left, the door to the women's bath opened again, and a tall figure walked in from outside.
Deanna looked at the handsome man before her and smiled. "I knew it was your doing to get Chloe out of here."
"They've had you all night. They should be satisfied."
Lance said as he walked into the bath and embraced the woman he loved deeply. "The rest of the time should be our world for two."
As he spoke, he moved closer.
Deanna worried that Chloe might return soon and quickly stopped him. "Not now. Chloe might come back any minute."
"She won't be coming back."
