"She sneaked in. Get her out of here immediately."
Emily's voice was cold and commanding.
The security guard approached, assessed the situation, and looked at Deanna.
"Miss, please show your invitation to verify your identity and avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings."
Deanna was taken aback, feeling a bit embarrassed.
She truly didn't have an invitation. After all, she had come with Lance and didn't have such a thing.
Seeing Deanna unable to produce an invitation, Emily became even more smug.
She raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest. "See? I told you, this woman is just here to freeload!"
"Hurry up and get her out of here. What are you waiting for?"
The security guard had no choice but to speak up.
"Miss, I'm sorry, but since you don't have an invitation, you'll need to leave now."
Emily sneered disdainfully.
"Hurry up and leave. I don't even know how you had the nerve to come in."
"If I were you, I'd find a hole to crawl into. This is so embarrassing!"
For a moment, Deanna stood there, feeling awkward.
She pressed her lips together, about to explain.
Suddenly, Alvaro and Lance walked over from a distance.
They had been standing nearby discussing business but were drawn by the commotion.
Alvaro's face was stern as he scolded, "Nonsense!"
"What is everyone doing gathered here?"
The security guard turned and quickly explained the situation to Alvaro.
In an instant, Alvaro's face darkened further, and beside him, Lance's expression grew colder.
"Ridiculous! Miss Jones came with Lance. Who said she was here to freeload?"
Mr. Marshall directed his anger at the security guard.
Seeing this, the security guard was startled and quickly explained, "Sir, it was this lady who said so. That's why I came over."
He immediately shifted the blame to Emily.
Feeling the two men's gazes on her, Emily became visibly flustered.
Her face turned pale and then flushed.
She never expected Lance to bring Deanna to such a place.
This was infuriating!
She had intended to embarrass Deanna, but now it backfired.
Emily lowered her eyes to hide her emotions and forced an awkward smile after a while.
"Oh, so that's what happened. We didn't understand the situation earlier, which led to this misunderstanding. Now that it's clear, there's no problem."
She tried to brush it off as if it were nothing.
But Lance's face remained icy.
"Just a misunderstanding, and it's all fine?"
His eyes glinted with coldness as he spoke harshly.
Feeling the chill emanating from Lance, Emily swallowed nervously, a bit scared.
She pressed her lips together. "Mr. Mercer, it was indeed my misunderstanding earlier. My sister didn't explain clearly! If she had mentioned earlier that you brought her here, I wouldn't have made such assumptions..."
Lance sneered impatiently, cutting her off.
"A simple misunderstanding and you want to brush it off? And now you're blaming your sister?"
His dark eyes filled with disdain as he looked at Emily's face.
"I... I didn't mean that."
"Apologize." Lance's lips curled into a cold smile as he dropped the word.
His face was grim, and his aura suddenly intensified like that of a grim reaper.
Emily was stunned, her face full of shock.
"What?"
To apologize to Deanna in front of so many people would be a direct slap in her face!
She looked helplessly at Raphael, sending him pleading looks.
At this moment, asking her to apologize to Deanna was a joke.
Raphael spoke up, "Mr. Mercer, this was just a misunderstanding. Since it's been cleared up, why take it seriously?"
Around them, people began whispering among themselves.
Feeling everyone's scrutiny, Emily's face turned even more unsightly.
Lance sneered. "The person I brought here was wronged. Shouldn't I take it seriously?"
He stood before them with an air of superiority.
"If Emily doesn't want to apologize, perhaps you should?"
His arrogant attitude showed he didn't take Raphael seriously at all.
Feeling the man's contempt, Raphael was infuriated.
His face darkened, but he didn't dare confront Lance directly.
Lance's voice rang out again. "I'll say it one last time: apologize."
"Three."
"Two."
The countdown began, and his cold gaze made it impossible to doubt his words.
Raphael panicked and quickly looked at Emily.
"Emily, apologize quickly!"
Knowing Lance's character, if they didn't apologize, they would be doomed today!
Reluctantly, Emily gritted her teeth and squeezed out an apology at the last second.
"I'm sorry!"
Lance wanted to say more but was stopped by Deanna.
"Forget it. Let's leave it at that."
She didn't want to get entangled with Emily any further and couldn't be bothered to deal with her.
Seeing this, Lance had no choice but to nod and leave with Deanna.
After this farce, all the guests looked at Raphael and Emily with amusement.
Even the socialites who had been friendly with Emily began mocking her.
