After the two little ones left, Deanna turned to her friend and asked with concern, "Tell me, what exactly happened?"
Julia had come to discuss this with her friend, so she didn't hold back. "Lionel's parents don't seem to like me."
"What happened?" Deanna immediately frowned and pressed for details.
Julia recounted the events after her return. "Not long after I came back, Lionel's parents arrived. They said it wasn't good for my reputation to live with Lionel before marriage and suggested I return to my own home. Although they arranged for a nanny to take care of me, I always felt they were dissatisfied with me."
Hearing this, Deanna pondered deeply. "Tell me exactly what they said at that time."
Julia repeated the words of Lionel's parents. Deanna listened carefully. Although Lionel's parents seemed considerate of Julia, the underlying meaning clearly differentiated between Julia and Lionel.
Thinking about this, she looked at her friend and asked, "What do you think now?"
"I want to try harder. Deanna, help me. What should I do?" Julia looked at her friend for help.
Understanding her friend's feelings, Deanna thought for a moment and said, "First, we need to understand why Lionel's parents don't like you. Have you visited them in the past few days?"
"I contacted them and wanted to show them around Cloudmere, but they refused, saying I shouldn't walk around too much because I'm pregnant," Julia said, looking dejected as she recounted her interactions with Lionel's parents.
Deanna didn't know what to say. The other side's actions, though seemingly reasonable, left no room for criticism.
After thinking for a while, Deanna asked, "Have you talked to Lionel about this?"
"No, I think I can handle it myself," Julia shook her head.
Deanna disagreed. "I think you should discuss this with Lionel first. After all, they are his parents. This matter concerns both of you. Handling it alone might not be a good idea."
She continued, seeing her friend's silence, "Take my situation with Lance as an example. Initially, his parents didn't approve of my background either. But Lance's mediation changed their attitude towards me. So I believe this isn't something you can solve alone."
Julia showed a thoughtful expression. Deanna continued, "You two are already discussing marriage. These issues should be discussed with Lionel. Sometimes handling things alone can lead to misunderstandings."
"So you mean I should talk to Lionel?" Julia summarized Deanna's point.
Deanna nodded and emphasized again, "This isn't just your problem. Go back and discuss it with Lionel."
"Got it, but not today," Julia was convinced but didn't know how to bring it up with Lionel.
Feeling frustrated, she suggested, "Deanna, let's go shopping."
Understanding her friend's mood, Deanna agreed. She called the two little ones and the four of them headed to the financial district downtown.
On the way, Deanna whispered to the two little ones, "Your godmother is in a bad mood today. It's time for you to shine."
The two little ones responded with a confident gesture.
Julia didn't notice anything unusual about the children. She was still reflecting on Deanna's words when she suddenly realized something. "Deanna, have you regained your memory?"
Julia looked at Deanna in surprise.
Deanna was taken aback but then nodded. "Yes, I have regained my memory, but I don't remember what happened during my amnesia."
"Mommy has regained her memory! That's great!" The two little ones were also excited.
Seeing their excitement, Deanna smiled warmly.
Then Julia's reproachful voice came from beside her, "Such a big thing and you didn't even tell me."
"I didn't get the chance," Deanna replied sheepishly.
Julia thought about it and agreed. Deanna had just returned last night and she had come early in the morning to discuss Lionel's situation, leaving no opportunity for Deanna to speak.
Just as Julia was about to say something, she caught sight of two familiar figures outside the car window. "Stop the car! Quick!"
Almost as soon as she spoke, the car stopped.
Seeing Julia's serious expression, Deanna asked with concern, "What happened?"
