Chapter 1191: An Incomplete Childhood

Around noon, the exams for the two little ones finally ended, and students began to trickle out of the school.

Perhaps influenced by Logan and Samantha, Deanna also felt a bit nervous. She stood next to Lance, tiptoeing to look towards the school.

Noticing her movement, Lance quickly supported her slender waist and cautioned, "Be careful, don't fall."

"I see Gregory and Chloe," Deanna suddenly exclaimed with joy, waving to the two little ones in the distance. "Gregory and Chloe, Mommy is here."

"Mommy, Daddy!" The two little ones ran over with bright smiles on their faces.

Of course, they didn't forget their grandparents who were also watching them anxiously. After a round of greetings, the four adults didn't immediately ask about the exam results but took the two little ones to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

"Gregory and Chloe, eat more. You worked hard today," Samantha said as she continuously served them food. The two ate heartily, their mouths covered in oil. The atmosphere was incredibly warm.

Later, after finishing their meal, Deanna finally asked about the exams. "Did your proctor mention when the results would be out?"

"They're already out. My brother and I both passed with full marks. The proctor said that after the summer vacation, parents should take us to school for enrollment," the two little ones relayed their teacher's words without any suspense.

In fact, most of the students taking the exam today had passed since it was just a transition from kindergarten to primary school, which wasn't very difficult. Even so, the three adults showed exaggerated expressions. "Wow, Gregory and Chloe are amazing," they exclaimed.

Seeing this, Lance couldn't help but smile wryly, especially when he saw his usually mature and steady father joining in with his mother and Deanna in cheering. He didn't know what to say.

Chloe proudly raised her little head at her grandparents' praise and said with a smile, "There's more. My brother and I plan to apply for a grade-skipping exam after school starts."

"Skipping grades?" Deanna, Logan, and Samantha were slightly taken aback. Clearly, they hadn't expected this from the two little ones. However, Lance's eyes lit up.

Gregory then explained, "Mommy wanted us to have a complete childhood, so we stayed in kindergarten. Now that we're entering primary school, I hope to learn more as quickly as possible. We've already mastered the curriculum from grades one to four, so we plan to take the grade-skipping exam and enter fifth grade."

For some reason, hearing this made Deanna feel like she was holding her children back. Of course, this thought only lasted a moment. She then worriedly asked, "Isn't fifth grade too fast? Even though it's just primary school, there's a lot more to learn compared to kindergarten."

"Yes, especially fifth grade. I've read that it's a critical point where learning pressure increases significantly," Samantha added with concern. "Gregory and Chloe, your grandparents don't want you to be too stressed. You didn't make many friends in kindergarten; we hope you can make some close friends in primary school."

Although Logan didn't say anything, his constant nodding showed he agreed with Samantha.

Seeing this, the two little ones exchanged glances and didn't know what to say for a moment. They knew their grandparents were looking out for them. But...

"Dad, Mom, since Gregory and Chloe have this ambition, I think we should support them. They're not unreasonable; they're practically little adults now. Let's let them follow their own path. We're here to back them up if they face any setbacks," Lance spoke up for the two little ones.

Even so, Logan, Samantha, and Deanna still hesitated. Seeing a glimmer of hope, the two little ones looked gratefully at their dad before turning to plead with their grandparents.

"Grandpa, Grandma, please let us go. We want to learn more; it won't be hard."

"Mommy," they added.

Finally, under their persistent persuasion, Logan, Samantha, and Deanna relented. However, Deanna didn't forget to set some ground rules. "You can skip grades but you must ensure your health. Mommy is happy that you love learning but doesn't want you to neglect your health or feel pressured."

"Don't worry, Mommy. That won't happen," the two little ones promised confidently before exchanging smiles.

Their actions didn't go unnoticed by the four elders. Deanna showed a thoughtful expression with some confusion in her eyes.

Seeing how happy they were about learning made her wonder why she had previously stopped them from studying more.

Just as she was pondering this, a gentle voice whispered in her ear, "Maybe it's because your childhood was unhappy that you wanted Gregory and Chloe to have a happy one."
