Deanna didn't hesitate and said directly, "Yes!"
After waiting for so long, the moment had finally arrived.
In an instant, she felt a surge of excitement.
She hung up the phone and almost immediately grabbed her bag, put on her coat, and headed out.
When she arrived at the Mercer Group building, Xavier had already received the message and was waiting downstairs.
Seeing Deanna, he quickly approached her.
"Dr. Deanna."
"Let's go, I'll take you up."
Deanna smiled and nodded, "Thank you, Mr. Nelson."
She followed Xavier to the office.
At that moment, the lawyer and Lance were already in the office, busy with some documents.
Seeing Deanna, Lance said, "Just in time."
The lawyer handed over the transfer documents to Deanna. "Miss Jones, the ownership of the two houses under your name has been fully transferred. Here are the specific documents for you to review."
Deanna hadn't expected such efficiency.
She took the documents, her fingers trembling as she saw the official seals.
Finally! After all this time, they were finally hers again!
Excitedly, Deanna thanked them.
The lawyer shook his head, "Miss Jones, this is what we are supposed to do."
"Alright, we have completed our part. If you need anything else, feel free to contact us."
With that, the lawyer stood up and left.
Deanna clutched the documents, still feeling a bit unreal.
She looked up and met Lance's gaze.
"Mr. Mercer, thank you. Rest assured, now that you've fulfilled your promise to me, I will definitely fulfill mine to you."
Deanna's face was serious and earnest.
It was as if she was afraid Lance wouldn't trust her.
Seeing Deanna's expression, Lance couldn't help but find it amusing. He raised an eyebrow, "Dr. Deanna, are you always this businesslike with everyone?"
Deanna nodded and hummed softly.
"Being businesslike isn't a bad thing. Too much emotion can become a burden."
Hearing this, Lance felt a vague sense of disappointment.
Before he could speak, Deanna's voice rang out again.
She lifted her face to meet Lance's eyes.
"However, after dealing with Mr. Mercer these past few days, I find that Mr. Mercer is someone worth befriending."
She smiled slightly, "So, Mr. Mercer, let me treat you to lunch."
Upon hearing this, Lance also smiled.
Without thinking, he agreed readily, "Sure, it's rare to get a favor from Dr. Deanna. I'd be foolish not to accept."
Deanna found it amusing as well and replied, "Indeed, my favor is not easily taken."
As soon as she said this, they both looked at each other.
The words sounded a bit odd.
The more they thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
Deanna covered her mouth with her hand and coughed lightly to hide her embarrassment.
She quickly looked away and focused on something else.
"Well then, let's go! Time for lunch."
Lance noted Deanna's reaction and smiled, "Alright."
At that moment, he found Deanna quite adorable...
"Mr. Mercer, which restaurant nearby is good?"
Deanna asked as she followed Lance.
Lance frowned and thought for a moment, "There's a good one downstairs."
"Let's give it a try!"
As they spoke, they reached the elevator and were about to enter when they suddenly encountered Bella.
"Lance."
Bella stepped out of the elevator holding a lunch box.
Seeing Deanna next to Lance, she looked surprised.
"It's you..."
Wasn't this the woman she met at the bookstore yesterday?
Deanna was also a bit surprised to see Bella.
She nodded, "Yes, what a coincidence."
Lance glanced at both of them without delving into their relationship and nodded,
"What brings you here?"
He looked at Deanna with visible detachment and coldness.
In contrast to Lance's indifference, Bella smiled brightly.
"Lance, you probably haven't eaten yet! Look, I made your favorite lunch today. Try it."
She shook the lunch box in her hand.
"Lance, let's go try it..."
Lance interrupted impatiently, "No need to trouble yourself, Miss Cody. You don't have to do this for me anymore."
Such a cold rejection left Bella feeling like she had been slapped in the face.
She stood there awkwardly, unsure whether to stay or leave.
She bit her lip and her throat felt dry. "Lance..."
Lance's voice was cold, "Alright then, I have another appointment. Excuse me."
With that, he turned to Deanna. "Let's go."
They left together immediately.
"We'll be going now."
