Upon hearing Logan's words, Samantha remembered that Gunner hadn't mentioned who had taken Deanna.
She quickly asked, "Did you find out?"
"Yes, it was Lance's partner," Logan replied, frowning and looking upset.
Samantha was taken aback, her face showing clear anger. "It's her! She must be crazy!"
After a moment, she added urgently, "We need to go back immediately tomorrow. If that woman dared to harm Deanna, she might also target Lance, especially since he's weak right now!"
Logan saw her anxious expression and agreed. The woman's target was Lance, and given his current condition, he was indeed in danger.
Meanwhile, Old Ashley and the two children were escorted back to the house by Julia and Lionel.
Seeing Julia's weary face, Old Ashley said with concern, "It's late. You should go home and rest. Don't come over tomorrow. You've been running around every day, and the medicine Deanna gave you doesn't seem to be working."
"Don't worry about me, Grandma. I know my body; I'm fine," Julia replied. She knew the old lady didn't want her to be exhausted, but with Deanna not around, she was worried about the old lady's mental stress and the children.
Old Ashley, touched and pained by Julia's disregard for herself, ordered Lionel, "Make sure your wife doesn't run around tomorrow."
Without giving Julia a chance to speak, she added earnestly, "If you really want to help, take these days to rest and regain your strength. Otherwise, if something happens when we return, you won't have the energy to help us."
Julia wanted to argue but was successfully silenced by these words. With Lionel's persuasion, she finally gave in and went to rest.
Only Old Ashley and the two children remained.
The old lady mustered her strength, holding a child's hand in each of hers, and said softly, "Come on, I will take you to rest."
"Great-Grandma, our mommy will be okay, right?" The children looked up at her with fearful eyes.
They clung tightly to her hands and choked out, "Daddy will save Mommy, right?"
"Yes, your daddy will definitely save your mommy. So you must be good, don't cry or make a fuss, okay?" The old lady comforted them with all her might.
The children nodded obediently.
Meanwhile, on the helicopter.
Lance was half-asleep, resting against the seatback. In his daze, he seemed to hear Deanna calling for help.
"Lance, save me..."
"Deanna-" Lance shouted as he woke up abruptly.
He was still reaching out his hand when he woke up.
Xavier, awakened by Lance's shout, looked over with concern. "President, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. What time is it? How long until we reach Cloudmere?" Lance asked, not wanting to mention his dream but looking troubled.
Xavier checked his watch and replied, "It's 1 AM. We have another half hour before entering Cloudmere airspace."
Hearing there was still half an hour left, Lance frowned and ordered, "Tell the pilot to speed up."
He couldn't stop worrying about Deanna in Eula's hands. No one knew Eula's temper better than him; that woman could be deadly when she lost control!
Xavier understood Lance's concern for his wife and went to the cockpit to relay the order.
Soon, the helicopter sped up. The remaining half-hour flight was cut down to about fifteen minutes.
The helicopter landed directly above the estate.
The loud noise woke Eula and her group. They hurriedly threw on some clothes and ran out of their rooms.
Eula was the first to see Lance in his wheelchair. Her face changed as she rushed over. "Lance, what's wrong?"
Before she could touch him, Lance pushed her hand away.
He glanced at her coldly but didn't respond. He signaled Xavier to push him into the living room.
Watching them leave, especially seeing Lance's icy gaze directed at her, Eula felt a sinking feeling in her heart. Did Lance discover something?
She couldn't help but speculate but quickly shook her head in denial. If Lance had discovered something, he wouldn't act this way.
She figured that Lance's bad mood was probably because there was still no news about Deanna.
Even if she guessed correctly, she had to pretend not to know anything. After all, she hadn't attended Deanna's apprenticeship ceremony and knew nothing about what happened there.
She quickly caught up with them and pretended to be displeased. "What kind of attitude is that? I'm concerned about you, and you give me the cold shoulder!"
