Deanna called out several times before someone finally came.
It was a burly foreign man who looked intimidating.
Seeing him, Deanna immediately became nervous and questioned, "Who are you?"
However, the man ignored her, gave her a cold glance, and spoke into his wireless communicator, "Tell Miss Cody that the woman upstairs is awake."
Miss Cody?
Deanna caught the key point in his words and frowned in thought.
Who is this Miss Cody?
Before she could ask, the man turned around, closed the door, and left without another word.
Seeing this, Deanna suppressed her unease and tried to remain calm.
Since that man had notified this Miss Cody, she figured she would see her soon.
Indeed, less than five minutes after the man left, the sound of high heels echoed from outside the door.
In a few seconds, the door opened, and someone Deanna did not expect appeared at the entrance.
"Bella?"
"Long time no see, Deanna. Surprised to see me?"
Bella walked arrogantly to the bedside, looking down at Deanna with a sinister smile.
Deanna's heart sank at the sight.
Clearly, Bella's appearance was no coincidence.
"So it was you who captured me," Deanna asked in a low voice.
Bella smirked and said, "Yes and no."
"What do you mean?"
Deanna looked at her in confusion.
Bella stared at her with a cold gaze and said, "It's simple. You've offended too many people. Many want to see you suffer, but they can't act openly, so they sent me."
As she spoke, she reached out to touch Deanna's face and said viciously, "You used this face to seduce Lance, didn't you? I really want to ruin it."
Deanna's heart tightened as she looked at Bella, who didn't seem to be joking.
She was powerless now. If Bella wanted to harm her, she couldn't resist.
Just as she was thinking of how to save herself, Bella seemed to notice her anxiety and smiled lightly.
"Look how nervous you are. Don't worry. Although I want to ruin your face, disfigurement would be too easy for you. I want you to live a life worse than death."
Bella leaned close to Deanna and whispered the last sentence with hatred.
Deanna met her triumphant gaze and couldn't help but ask, "What do you plan to do to me?"
Perhaps knowing Deanna couldn't escape, Bella stood up and looked at her smugly.
"Do you know? There's an underground auction abroad where anything can be sold, including women and children."
Hearing this, Deanna's face changed dramatically.
She thought she had guessed what Bella intended to do.
Sure enough, Bella continued with a smile, "I've decided to send you there. Do you know? Women sent there never have a good end. The auctioneers will brand them with a mark to indicate their origin. Moreover, the women who get bought won't have a good end; they are usually purchased as female slaves or to serve the noble guests of the household."
"Are you crazy?"
Deanna couldn't believe her ears, glaring with eyes wide open.
Seeing this, Bella laughed coquettishly, "Are you scared? Good, that's the result of you stealing my man."
After saying this, Bella ignored Deanna's furious expression and continued talking with interest to further provoke her.
"I am very curious, if Lance finds you after you've been auctioned off, do you think he will still want you? Your body will bear the marks of the auction, becoming impure. Oh, just thinking about it is so satisfying."
"Bella, what you are doing is illegal!"
Whether out of anger or fear, Deanna trembled as she shouted.
But Bella replied nonchalantly, "So what? I've already emigrated to Abla. The police in Chiaz can't touch me. After selling you off, I will settle abroad. Who can do anything to me?"
Deanna was stunned.
Apparently, she hadn't expected Bella to go to such lengths for revenge.
Perhaps seeing enough of Deanna's furious expression, Bella smiled contentedly and said, "Alright, our chat is over. Enjoy your last bit of peace."
With that, she turned and left, closing the door behind her.
From outside the door, Bella's icy voice could be heard, "Keep a good watch on the woman inside. If she escapes, your master won't let you off!"
Hearing this, Deanna was momentarily stunned.
Master?
Could it be that Bella isn't the mastermind behind her capture?
If not Bella, who else hates her so deeply?
Unable to figure it out, Deanna decided not to dwell on it.
The most important thing now was figuring out how to get out of there.
She absolutely could not let Bella sell her to that auction!
However, no matter how hard she tried, her body wouldn't move an inch.
