Disappointment: Can we leave?
~Alina Pov~
I stretched my arms as I looked out of the window. I couldn't believe it was already evening and I had slept for so long, no wonder I was so hungry.
My lips twitched as I felt satisfied with his things. I have my mate with me and my parents are safely by my side even if they are injured but I know with time they will regain their strength. The only black side of all this is the enemies roaming outside and the war being prepaid. No matter how much I want to destroy the Silvercrest pack, I still prefer peace, but some people don't just deserve it.
I sighed helplessly and then prepared to walk out to find something to eat, but when I got to the door, I met my parents. I was about to greet them when I noticed their moody face, but it was not obvious on my mother's face and she still had that gentle smile on her face, and on her hand, she was holding a tray of food.
"Mother, father!" I called out in my heart with a smiles on my face then moved to let them come in.
My parents sat down and watched me eat, but I found it normal as they had always been like that. Though they were mostly out in the battle and I was left home alone when I was young, the good side of it is they never neglected me when they came back from the battles, they always make up for the time they were away.
My mum patted my head as I ate, and then I remembered the checkup she did for me before I slept off, I turned to look at her, "How was it, mum? Can I be treated?!" I took the pen and wrote on the book which was left next to me and showed them nervously with my eyes fixed on her face.
My smile fell off seeing her look more gloomy after I asked the question. They looked uneasy as they looked at each other as if they were communicating with each other secretly.
I bit my lips in anxiousness, and wrote again, "Can you just tell me what's going on? I am not going anymore." I showed them the book and then looked at them with anticipation.
Mum looked at me deeply then moved closer to me and held both my hands, her eyes looked at me desperately, "Alina…Can we leave this place?!" She asked with a trembling voice.
I sat in shock with my eyes wide open, I gasped as I looked at them. How could they suggest something like this?! Kennedy had saved them and took care of them and now they ask for me to leave him?! That's my mate! It's like they were asking me to break my bond with him, don't they know how this would damage and hurt him?!
I shook my head in disbelief then removed my hands from Mum's hand and stood up, I didn't bother writing as I was too hurt to write, I looked at them with eyes filled with hurt and disappointment not caring if they would understood sign language, I began gesturing with my hands angrily.
"How could you say that? Why?! Kennedy had to risk so much just to save you and you do this?! This is my mate, if there is a misunderstanding then we can talk about it and not you telling me to leave him?! Hd is my other soul!" I gestured angrily and heaved hurriedly.
My eyes were red and filled with tears. My lips pulsed as I waited for them to respond, but seeing them not reply to me, I knew they didn't understand and this drove me crazy! How I wish I could talk!
Then I looked at my mum in shock as she stood up and walked towards me but I moved back.
"Alina! I understand he is your soul! But you understand nothing! Mum is not an ungrateful person and for me to suggest something then I would have thought so deeply!" She said aggrievedly and I looked at her and smiled sadly.
"Tell me!" I gestured again as I guessed my mother could understand me but couldn't use the sign language.
She sighed then turned to look at my dad who had been watching us with a heavy and pale face. My father nodded to her and she turned to me then closed her eyes.
"Alina! We haven't told you as we felt you don't need to know all this. The real reason for our imprisonment is because of the powerful and godly power we have in our hands! It's a stone that can make one greedy because of the benefits it brings, and unfortunately, Alpha Richard found out and got greedy and then started building his power outside. He got so ambitious and wanted the stone for himself to take over the entire wolf world! But the stone is still with us and hasn't been released to him!" She finished explaining everything at once.
I looked shocked at first but I wasn't shocked that Richard was greedy, I was shocked because in my parent's hands was something so precious.
I shook my head in disbelief, "how could they have this?! This was something so powerful! How can I not know the Black stone? This is something Kennedy had been searching for-Oh yes, Kennedy!"
I looked at my parents and thought about how they had suddenly told me to leave with them then connected everything. My heart shook at my thoughts but then I decided to hear from them and not conclude. I nodded and gestured with a sign so that she could continue.
"I checked your throat and found out that it has been damaged so badly and only the Black stone can heal it, don't forget Mother has it so you can be healed, baby." She said then smiled through her tears but somehow, I couldn't muster any sort of excitement.
She looked at me in confusion then I gestured, "Did you tell this to Kennedy? And why did you ask me to leave?"
She gritted her teeth but then my father interrupted-
"He kept asking question after question and I couldn't help but suspect him! I don't trust that man, and we all know the power of the black stone and I feel uneasy with the way things are. You must heal your voice!" He said with determination and eyes shining with vigor.
I looked at them in shock and something clicked into my brain, "Did they show Kennedy they doubt him?! No, no!" I panicked and without waiting for them to say more words, I turned around and dashed out.
"Alina! What's going on?!"
