Chapter 405 The Decisive Battle
William Brown's sudden surge of strength had everyone at the scene totally astounded.
Neil trembled with excitement, his eyes wide with disbelief, utterly shocked by William Brown's display of power.
"This is terrifying! His energy has tripled at the very least!" Neil's heart raced as he stared at William Brown in the ring, his eyes reflecting his shock.
Beside him, Delilah was left speechless, William Brown's strength far surpassing anything she could have imagined.
"How did William Brown suddenly become so strong?" In the martial arts community, where strength is revered above all else, William Brown had decisively conquered Delilah with his staggering might.
The most shocked of all was the old monster Urbano. He had been confident of victory in this challenge, but William Brown's newfound strength caught him off guard.
"Has this kid tapped into his latent potential? It's terrifying. Give him a few more years, and he might single-handedly annihilate our entire Das Guild," Urbano thought, hardly daring to continue the thought, as his intent to kill William Brown grew stronger.
This guy must be eliminated!
No sooner did this thought flash through his mind than a black longsword appeared in his hand.
"Come, show me your true strength!" Urbano bellowed, and in an instant, he vanished from sight, reappearing in the blink of an eye in front of William Brown.
His speed was so fast that even Neil couldn't track his movements.
But to William Brown, Urbano's actions were crystal clear.
"Clang!" The black iron longsword clashed with the Dragon Fang Broadsword.
"Your power is nothing special," William Brown taunted with a slight smirk before suddenly unleashing a lightning-fast mantis kick at Urbano.
Urbano's pupils shrunk as the speed left him no time to react before William Brown's foot sent him flying into the air.
"Dragon Fang Broadsword, go!" William Brown seized the moment while Urbano was airborne and defenseless, controlling the broadsword with his energy to strike him like a bolt of lightning.
"Whoosh!" The broadsword missed its mark as Urbano deflected it with his black iron longsword, leaving only a superficial cut across his chest.
While deflecting the Dragon Fang Broadsword, Urbano swiftly fell to the ground. His hands hit the floor, and leveraging the momentum, he rolled aside, quickly regaining his footing, denying William Brown another chance for a sneak attack.
"Not bad," Urbano panted, his complexion pale.
His near miss in the air had been a close call. Thankfully, the black iron longsword had redirected the Dragon Fang Broadsword's trajectory, or the sword would have impaled his chest.
Even so, his shirt was slit open by the broadsword, and a line of blood oozed from a fresh score across his chest. The clash had ignited a resurgence of hope within the ranks of the Flood Boxing Guild, especially for Neil, whose eyes briefly shimmered with excitement.
"Fantastic! Given William Brown's prowess right now, he's edging out the old freak. I never saw this coming!" Neil was thrilled beyond belief, finding the challenge match as unexpectedly thrilling as a roller coaster ride.
Members from Das Guild, on the other hand, were watching in utter shock.
"To think that not even our own ancestor can match this kid, it's freakishly unbelievable!" Santiago, whose arm had been severed, looked even paler with a newfound sense of terror on his face.
Even the old monster, Urbano, had to buckle down and take the battle seriously.
William Brown's brows knitted together as he saw Urbano become cautious. He was aware that the effects of the enhancement drug would only last an hour; once it wore off, he would be completely drained and no match for Urbano.
So, to secure victory in this challenge, he had to take down the old monster within an hour. That way, even if people from the Das Guild wanted to throw more challengers at them, Flood Boxing Guild still had the advantage with Neil, an innate level expert, yet to fight.
With him by their side, further challenges shouldn't pose any problems.
"Here comes your demise!" William Brown stomped his feet and with a thunderous shout, he launched himself at the old monster like a cannonball, his aura swirling into a tornado around him, akin to a ferocious cyclone.
One second he was on the left side of the ring, the next he was striking face-to-face with Urbano.
Drawing near, William Brown put all his strength behind a blow with the broken sword, also employing the close-quarter technique to triple the power behind the strike.
Urbano tried to counter with his black iron saber. He was terrified to find that this strike was even more powerful than before, causing his heart to pound wildly.
"Die!" William Brown intensified his force, and despite Urbano's full resistance, he couldn't block the blow. The Dragon Fang broken sword split the black iron saber in two and continued its trajectory, piercing Urbano's chest.
A ten-centimeter deep gash appeared on Urbano's chest, spewing crimson blood. Grasping his chest in disbelief, he fell.
The severed black iron saber dropped to the ring's floor, and the 102-year-old monster, Urbano, lay in a pool of blood, gasping his last breath.
"How, how can this be? Defeated by this youngster!" Urbano's eyes were filled with disbelief and resentment.
William Brown gave him an icy glance, then with a swift stroke, ended Urbano's life.
Urbano, who had lived for 102 years and was once one of the four grandmasters of the capital twenty years ago, now lay slain by William Brown.
The onlookers beneath the arena were left shocked and trembling, regarding William Brown with the trepidation one would reserve for a a figure of pure terror, visibly shaking with fear.
Neil was speechless, stunned by William Brown's terrifying display of power. Yet, deep down, he couldn't contain his elation. With the old monster gone, the remaining members of the Das Guild were no match for them; victory in the challenge seemed to be within their grasp.
"You guys from the Das Guild, all of you come at me together! Let's not waste any time," William Brown said, even though the adrenaline from defeating Urbano hadn't fully subsided. He was cool-headed, knowing he had to take out the rest of their fighters quickly to secure the win.
Anger boiled among the Das Guild at William Brown's arrogance and taunts, but their fury was tempered by reality; their combined strength was simply not enough—they would be marching to their doom.
Santiago knew that despite the grim odds, if they didn’t take this one last shot, they would have zero chance. "He's asked for it, so let's give it to him! Everyone, charge and take him down!" Knowing that William Brown wouldn't let him off the hook, he figured it was better to go out fighting than wait to be picked off.
However, his rallying cry made little difference. The disciples of the Das Guild were petrified by William Brown’s display of might, their legs trembling, unable to step forward.
Santiago sighed in desolation, realizing that the centennial foundation of the Das Guild could be destroyed in a single day.
