Chapter 28

As we got closer we could hear the message Mr Grant was shouting through the mega phone.

“Due to what can only be described as vandalism the school will be closed today we are in the process of informing all of your parents you will not be expected to attend any classes today due to health and safety reasons we have had to close the school. We hope you understand please enjoy your summer holidays”

I looked at Mick and Abbey who both smiled at the idea that we would get an extra day of holiday and that the school had been closed. As we stood around unsure of what to do next a buzz went around the students as we tried to find out what had happened. We found out from one of the year 10 girls that a group of year 11 boys had bought stink bombs and water balloons with washing up liquid into the school and had gone down every possible area they could reach throwing the water bombs and stink bombs essentially turning the whole school into one massive stinking water slide. Due to the fact they were unable to clean this up within the time before school started they had instead decided to close the school and the police had been rung to look into finding the culprit and charging them with criminal damage as it had ruined most of the floors. As we walked back towards our homes to get changed we discussed possible options for what we were going to do for the day. As we neared my house we had decided we would go to micks and play some more of our campaign. We sent messages to the others in the group to arrange a time and decided that the best time to do this would be after lunch. This would give us enough time to gather the things we needed and would also give mick time to get things set up ready. I got through the front door to find my sister sat on the couch looking at her phone as always with some soap drama thing on the tv. As i walked in i heard her shout through to me

“ its so cool what they did. I hope they don't get into much trouble and love the fact it gave us an extra day off school. Everyone is talking about it and how they will become legends but no one knows who the group was. What are you going to do with your extra day holiday”

I shouted back

“I'm just gonna go play some D&D with my friends at micks”

I heard a moan followed by a blunt

“Lame”

I ignored the reply as i went upstairs to get changed into my jeans and a t-shirt as i was nearly ready to head out i got a text from josh

“ frickin awesome that school was cancelled if your free to hang out we are gonna be at the skatepark”

I quickly replied

“Sorry man i have plans that i can't get out of maybe tomorrow though”

I didn't get a reply and quickly gathered my D&D things into my bag as I left the house to head to micks. As i entered micks flat i was met by the usual group of players including abbey who handed me some notes

“This is what we did during the session. You weren't here i hope you don't mind i acted as the dm” as she finished this she leaned forward and kissed my cheek. I felt the rush of blood to my cheeks as I blushed and the others in the room all uttered an ooo noise. We sat down and began to play the session. We must have played for a few hours without realising as i got a text from my mum telling me that tea was ready and i needed to head home to eat. I explained to everyone I was heading home as I gathered my things and Abbey said she would walk home with me so i wasnt a loner. I smiled and we walked back to my house.

As we reached the corner where I would go towards my house and Abbey would continue forward to get to their house. We stopped awkwardly looking at each other as she leant forward and waited. I knew in the back of my mind that she was expecting a kiss and I awkwardly leaned in and gave her a small kiss on the lips. Her taste was an intoxicating mixture of cherry and strawberries. I can only assume this was due to a lip balm she was wearing but either way i liked it and kissed her again gently. We both looked at each other awkwardly again as she then gave me a hug and walked towards her own home. As i got in through the front door the smell of my tea hit me like a wave and instantly bought my head back to ground level after the kiss i had been floating slightly
