Chapter 82 Chapter Eighty Two: "My Omega"
Chapter 82 Chapter Eighty Two: "My Omega"
Lior woke up feeling terrible. He stared at the ceiling for several seconds, trying to convince himself that getting out of bed would somehow make the feeling disappear.
It didn't.
His stomach felt unsettled. Not enough to make him vomit, but enough to make the thought of food unpleasant.
He eventually dragged himself out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.
After bathing, he skipped the closet and wore his bath robe downstairs, to the kitchen. He poured himself a bowl of cereal and sat at the counter, staring at it.
After forcing down two spoonfuls, he pushed the bowl away.
He couldn't do it.
He didn't understand what was wrong with him lately. He had been tired for days. Now he was waking up nauseous too.
Maybe he was simply stressed.
That had to be it.
He checked the time and immediately groaned.
He was going to be late, again.
He went back upstairs.
He hurried through getting dressed, grabbed his bag, and left the house.
But the moment he stepped outside the gate, he stopped.
Someone was standing across the street.
A man.
He's on black hoodie, dark trousers, with a camera hanging from his hand.
Lior's heart skipped. He recognized him. It was the same man he'd seen outside his father's house; the man who had taken pictures of him.
Lior stared.
The man seemed to notice him looking and turned slightly.
Lior couldn't see his face clearly.
Then a car passed between them. By the time it had gone, the man was no longer standing there.
Lior's stomach tightened. He'd initially dismissed the incident at his father's house as nothing more than some creepy Alpha taking pictures of an Omega.
It's happened before.
Unfortunately, it happened often enough that he'd learned not to react to every strange person who stared too long or secretly took pictures.
But seeing the same man near his house was different, his house was far away from his father's house. Was he being followed? Did he actually have a stalker?
Lior swallowed.
He didn't have time to stand there wondering. He hurried toward the road and got a ride to work.
By the time he reached the office, he was already late.
He didn't even stop at his desk, he went straight into Adrian's office.
“I'm sorry I'm late.”
Adrian looked up from his desk, his expression immediately changing.
“Your scent—”
Lior blinked. “What?”
“Come here.”
Lior walked closer.
Adrian rolled his chair back and reached for him, pulling him gently onto his lap.
Lior barely had time to react before Adrian's hand settled against his forehead.
His brows furrowed. “Your temperature is high.”
Lior sighed. “I'm okay.”
“You don't seem okay.”
“I'm probably just stressed.”
Adrian studied him. “Then why do you smell different?”
“You've been commenting a lot about my scent changing. It's not.”
Adrian sighed. “Alright, it's not. So what is stressing you out?”
Lior didn't know how to say it. He hesitated before admitting,
“I think I have a stalker.”
Adrian's entire expression changed. “What?”
“Someone has been following me and taking pictures of me.”
“Since when?”
“I first noticed him the day I went to my father's house with the caregiver and the dietician.”
Adrian's arm tightened around him. “You saw him there?”
“Yes.” Lior swallowed. “I was leaving and getting into the car. I saw him through the side mirror. He was taking pictures of me.”
Adrian stared at him. “It's been over a week since then. And you didn't think to tell me?”
Lior looked down. “I thought he was just a creep.”
Adrian didn't respond.
Lior continued quietly. “I've experienced lots of those. Creepy Alphas secretly taking pictures of me. So I thought he was just another sicko.”
“Lior.” The warning in Adrian's voice wasn't anger, it was worry.
“Having a creep take pictures of you is definitely something you should tell me.”
Lior nodded. “You're right.”
“You saw him again today?”
“Yes.”
“Where?”
“Near my house.”
Adrian's jaw tightened. “I'm getting you security guards.”
Lior immediately shook his head. “No.”
“And a personal driver.”
“Adrian—”
“I'll have someone drive you everywhere.”
“No, that's too much.”
Adrian looked at him incredulously. “Too much?”
“Yes.”
“Nothing is too much when it comes to protecting my Omega.”
Lior sighed. “Just have cameras and alarms installed around the house. And maybe those really bright motion-detector lights outside.”
“Fine.”
Lior smiled faintly. “Thank you.”
“And security guards.”
The smile disappeared. “Adrian.”
“And a driver.”
“Please listen to me. Doing all these extra things can make us more obvious.”
That made Adrian pause.
Lior continued. “I don't know who this person is or what he wants. If suddenly there's a security team around my house and I'm being driven everywhere, it'll draw attention.”
Adrian sighed, he clearly wasn't happy about it. “Fine. I'll do what you said.”
Lior relaxed.
Adrian brushed his thumb over Lior's cheek. “But I'm putting a team of security guards around the area. Not inside your house. They'll patrol nearby.”
Lior stared at him. “You really can't stop going extra, can you?”
“No.”
Lior laughed softly. “Fine.”
Adrian leaned forward and kissed his forehead. “I just want my Omega to be safe.” His hand moved gently down Lior's back. “It's my responsibility to protect you.”
Lior's stomach growled.
He looked embarrassed. “I'm hungry.”
Adrian blinked, then he smiled. “Should we go out for breakfast?”
Lior nodded.
He climbed off Adrian's lap.
Adrian stood up, picked up his phone from the desk, and held out his hand.
“Come on.”
Lior glared at him. “You can't hold my hand as we step out. I'm your assistant, I'm supposed to be walking behind you like we're going out for some important business.”
“Fine. I'll behave.”
_________
The restaurant Adrian took him to was exactly the sort of place Lior expected Adrian to choose.
Luxurious, quiet, and private.
The moment they walked in, the staff greeted Adrian warmly.
They were immediately offered a private room.
Lior glanced around as they entered. “This is a little excessive for breakfast.”
Adrian ignored him.
A server soon brought them complimentary pastries and fruit while another handed them the breakfast menu.
Lior stared at the menu. There were far too many choices.
“Why are there so many things?”
Adrian looked over. “To cover different choices.”
“I know that.” Lior turned the menu around. “I don't know what to pick.”
“Then don't.”
Lior looked at him. “What?”
Adrian calmly pointed at the menu. “I'll order everything you want to try.”
“Everything?”
“Everything.”
“That's ridiculous.”
“No, it's not. Pick everything if you can't pick just a few.”
Lior sighed, and pointed at several things.
Adrian ordered them all.
When the food arrived, the table quickly filled with plates.
Lior stared. “I can't possibly eat all this.”
“You don't have to.”
“Then why did you order so much?”
“You wanted to try them.”
Lior smiled. “You're ridiculous.”
“I've been told.”
They were left alone after the servers finished arranging the food.
Lior picked at one dish, then another. He took a bite and smiled. “This is good.”
Adrian watched him. “Nice. Eat.”
“I am eating.”
“You're taking small bites.”
“I'm savoring it.”
Adrian chuckled.
Lior tried another dish. Then he leaned closer. “Feed me.”
Adrian paused. “You have hands.”
“I know.” Lior opened his mouth. “I want you to feed me.”
A slow smile appeared on Adrian's face.
“Are you feeling particularly spoiled today?”
“Yes.”
Adrian picked up a piece of food and held it to his mouth.
Lior ate it. “Good?”
Lior nodded. “Again.”
Adrian fed him another bite. And another.
Lior eventually leaned against him, his head resting comfortably against Adrian's side.
Adrian didn't complain. If anything, he seemed to enjoy it.
His fingers moved slowly through Lior's hair while he continued feeding him whenever Lior opened his mouth expectantly.
“You're very clingy today,” Adrian murmured.
Lior closed his eyes. “I'm tired.”
“It’s morning, what got you so tired?”
Lior glared at him. “You wanna rephrase that?”
Adrian bit back a chuckle. “So sorry baby, I'm here to take care of you. What does my pretty boy need?”
“I’m hungry. And I don't want to move.”
Adrian smiled. “Then don't. I'll feed you, and carry you, I'll do whatever you want.”
Lior relaxed further against him. He doesn't understand why he's so tired and sluggish, but he's enjoying having this moment with his Alpha. It's perfect. Warm food, a quiet room, and Adrian's hand gently stroking his hair.
And Adrian was perfectly content to let his Omega be spoiled.
