Chapter 18 - Do I? Don’t I?
Michael:
I close my eyes and arch my back as Valentina curls her fingers around my cock. Groaning, I gasp at the intensity of her strokes around my shaft. As she kisses her way down my chest, I hold the sheet tightly between my fists and clench my jaw. Her eyes stay locked on me as her lips encase my swollen crown. Gasping with pleasure, I hiss through my teeth and snake my fingers through her hair. Valentina whimpers and mewls as her little tongue teases my tip. Jaw slack, I moan when she sucks hard and swirls her tongue around the swollen ridge, licks her way up my shaft and takes me deep into her throat.
I writhe beneath her pleasurable ministrations and shiver as she moves up and down my cock and playfully nips the tip.
Feeling drunk with pleasure, I shift my hips and find an ecstatic rhythm that makes my toes curl.
My eyes flash, and my wings strain against my back as my climax slowly builds. For several minutes, I take joy in her ministrations until blissfully orgasmic waves flood all of my senses. I roar as my body shudders and quivers with the force of my climax.
Slumping back, I pick Valentina up and impale her onto my hard cock. Valentina mewls, her sheath clenching tightly around me as her head falls back in ecstasy. I thrust deep and snarl as I pound into her, stroking her walls for nearly twenty minutes until we both fall off the cliff's edge again.
The bed is a wreck from our sensual movements. As my breathing becomes steady, I glance down at the top of Valentina’s head and release a content sigh. I have never experienced anything as amazing as making love to Valentina. When I kiss, touch or even look at her, I feel this deep connection. A connection that I’ve never felt for another female. There’s no question that I’ve been with other females, but it has been nothing like it is with Valentina, and I do not know what to do about it.
Though I’ve only known Valentina for a week, I feel like I’ve known her forever. The way she treats me like I’m a normal male is also quite refreshing. She doesn’t seem to be frightened or awed by me, and she’s so strong and honorable.
The only problem is that she’s human, and I do not know if I can risk getting attached to someone with such a short life span. However, the thought of not seeing her ever again makes something inside of me ache painfully.
There’s also the matter of my mate. How can I feel this way about another female? The purpose of mates is for you to find your perfect partner. No other should ever compare to your mate. I should not even feel any sort of attraction for anyone other than my mate. Yet, when I look at Valentina, an assortment of evocative emotions seems to flood my heart and mind.
It cannot be love─can it?
Valentina shifts on the bed and glances up at me at that moment, “That was amazing.”
I nod absently, seeing that I will have to conclude our interlude before the conversation becomes too intimate. With all of these thoughts swirling through my mind, I need some space to think.
“We should get up and prepare for tonight,” I mutter before I gently push her away and rise from the bed.
Valentina lifts the blanket across her chest and sits up. She must pick up on my mood because her face falls. “What’s wrong, Michael?” she asks.
I keep my back to her as I gather my clothing, “Rien n'est mauvais,” Nothing is wrong, I answer. I must answer too quickly because the next moment, she jumps off the bed and glares, “Are you regretting what we did?” she asks.
I flinch at her tone. I don’t want to hurt her, but there’s no way that I can take what we did beyond this moment.
“Valentina, I…we had fun, non?” I reply blankly. Though it pains me to say the words, I do not take them back. There’s just no possible future for us. Our worlds are too different.
“But─”
“There is no doubt that what we did was incredible, but this is all it can be,”
“No, Michael, you don’t get to speak to me that way,” she growls, “We just had a connection, and you...” she shakes her head with disappointment.
Jaw clenched, I tower over her, “It was an agréable moment, Valentina, but it cannot go further. I cannot give you anything beyond a physical encounter. I told you that I do not want a relationship with a human. My world is too dangerous for that, and our lives are too different. Can’t you see that there’s no future for us?” I interject before she can argue.
At my harsh words, Valentina’s expression instantly shutters. I know that she’s a very proud female and will not plead with me, which is why I’m harsh in my rejection.
Instead, she raises her chin and straightens her shoulders. “You know what? You’re right. I mean, we’ve only known each other for a week; it’s not like you’re my first one-night stand, or in this case, one day stand.” She retorts.
My fists tighten, and my jaw ticks with rage as she so flippantly excuses our intimate moment. I know that I’m the one who spurned her, but it hurts to hear her say that other males have touched what I have. Especially when I still desperately want her.
“Let’s just forget that all of this happened and prepare for what is coming tonight,” she states before she steps out of the room.
My nostrils flare as I sit on the edge of the bed and try to stop myself from running after her. This is how it has to be. Even if my heart feels like it was ripped out of my chest.
