Chapter 110 News from Mrs. Rose

"By the way, ask our guys to keep an eye out for anyone sneaking in from abroad," Liam continued.

"We haven't settled the Blood Rose issue yet. As long as she remains in CUG city, the folks at BS Hall won't back down."

"Got it!" Mike nodded before speaking again.

"Liam, how's your recovery coming along? Can't you heal up in a short time?"

"If it's not working, why not visit Heaven School? Let those old-timers join forces to have a look. They surely have a way!"

"You've got guts, calling them 'old-timers.' Have you forgotten your past lessons?" Liam smiled lightly.

His ties with Heaven School were not commonly known, but his close circle was well aware.

"Liam, you can't rat me out, okay?" Mike shuddered at the thought of those formidable figures.

Given the choice, he'd rather face an opponent like a Storm Knight in battle than make enemies of those seasoned veterans whose reach seemed limitless and who were masters of curses.

I remember when Liam was recovering from his injury, an elder from the legendary Heaven Academy visited West Land. Liam had also happened to send a representative from the Shadow Crew to visit him.

It was just a passing comment criticizing the famed Heaven Academy for failing to heal Liam, calling it undeserving of its reputation.

Within twenty-four hours of making that comment, the guy was a walking horror show, a whisper away from death's door. If it hadn't been for Liam stepping in to plead for him, he might have been entertaining thoughts of ending it all.

Thinking back to Mike's predicament back then, Robert almost let out a laugh.

After a brief pause, he looked at Liam "Hey Liam, maybe you should consider what Mike suggested!"

"I will visit Heaven Academy, just not now," Liam shook his head.

"Don't worry about my injuries. Give it six months, three at the least, and I should be mostly healed up!"

"Really!?" The brightness in Robert's eyes was palpable.

Liam merely smiled and nodded in confirmation.

Time flies, and before you know it, half a month has passed by.

"Daddy, Mommy, I want to go to the park again today, will you take me, please?"

That morning, right after breakfast, Ruby chimed in eagerly.

"Of course!" Liam chuckled. "You're starting school soon, right, Ruby? Let's make the most of the rest of your vacation because you won't have as much free time once classes begin."

"Daddy said yes! This is awesome!" Ruby was thrilled.

After the meal, Liam, along with Amelia and their sister, escorted Ruby outside where Robert was already waiting.

"Robert, do you have a girlfriend?" Avery asked from the passenger seat as they drove out.

"Nope," Robert replied with a laugh, shaking his head.

"Then let me set you up!" Avery said, barely containing her excitement.

"I know two gorgeous classmates. Next time you're in DLS City, I'll introduce them to you, guaranteed satisfaction!"

"Er, I think I'll pass for now. Not interested in dating at the moment," Robert said, his smile faltering.

"Come on, you're not getting any younger. It's time to think about settling down!" Avery persisted.

"Avery, you guys are still students. Focus on your studies instead of romances," Amelia interjected, slightly annoyed.

"You're out of touch, Amelia. Which college student isn't dating these days? If you don't date in school, good luck finding someone after you graduate," Avery retorted.

"Is that so? What about you, Avery? Got a boyfriend?" Liam asked with a chuckle.

"Nope, I have suitors, sure, but none that catch my eye," Avery replied nonchalantly.

"If I'm picking a boyfriend, I want someone reliable, like Liam or Robert."

"Then why offer to introduce Robert to your friends? With his qualities, shouldn't you consider him for yourself?" Liam teased with a smile.

Avery paused for a moment, "Well, I'll think about it!"

Robert's lips twitched again upon hearing this. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was being treated like an item on display.

"That's Robert for you," Amelia said with a scoff. "As if he'd ever fall for someone like you!"

"I'm pretty great myself, you know!" Avery pouted. "I'm the president of the student council at my school! I have a ton of talents. I just haven't had a chance to show them off to you guys yet!"

"People have been lining up from DLS City to CUG City just to ask me out. Even heirs from DLS city's top families are in the mix!"

"Avery's something!" Liam laughed heartily, "Robert, you've got to give this some thought. Avery's personality complements yours perfectly. I think you two could be a good match!"

"Liam, can we please change the subject?" Robert said, his face clouded over.

"Robert, I might consider giving you a shot at dating me. You better seize the opportunity!" Avery spoke as if she were talking about someone else.

"Otherwise, you'll miss your chance!"

"Avery!" Amelia called out, exasperated. "With that attitude of yours, I'd be surprised if Robert gave you a second glance!"

"You never know!" Avery turned to Robert. "So, Robert, what do you think of me?"

Robert choked on his saliva for a moment "You're... fine!"

Avery giggled, "You're nice, Robert. It's just that you're a bit too reserved. You might want to work on that."

"Really, though!" Liam burst out laughing again.

Before they knew it, they had arrived at the park.

"Daddy, I want to go on the bumper cars. Will you ride with me, please?" Ruby called out excitedly as soon as they got out of the car.

"Of course!" Liam responded with a smile. "Today, you can play whatever you want, Ruby!"

"Yay!" Ruby cheered with joy.

Time flew by, and an hour passed in the blink of an eye. Ruby was sweating from all the fun, even more ecstatic than her last visit to the park after returning to CUG city.

Amelia, too, was in high spirits, thoroughly enjoying a couple of rides with Avery.

Seeing the three of them so happy put a contented smile on Liam's face. Back in CUG city, these moments were the most relaxed and fulfilling for him. This simple family joy was incredibly precious.

He had thoughts of one day, perhaps, when he was truly weary of it all, setting aside all his burdens and living a simple life with his wife and daughter. That, too, could be a perfect life.

He knew that day was still a distant dream. He was very aware of the load he carried, especially the expectations his subordinates had of him.

"Daddy, you rest here. Mom can go with me on the carousel," Ruby said as she hopped off a bouncy castle.

"Sure thing!" Liam responded with a smile.

Then, he sat down beside Robert, who was busy answering a phone call.

"Liam, I got a call from Mike. There's a lead on Rose's situation," Robert said, looking at Liam after he hung up the phone.

Liam raised an eyebrow, "Who is it, exactly?"

"If my guess is right, it's someone from the Crimson Blades!" Robert replied.

"Crimson Blades?" Liam paused for a second, his pupils constricting slightly.
