Chapter 26: Dreams Become Reality

It was early evening when Danial finally pulled up to Skyler’s house to pick Jay up. The blonde walked up to the front door, knocking once before the door was pulled open abruptly and the smaller male was pulled into a bone crushing hug by the brunette, as well as he could with his right arm in a cast and balancing on his crutch under his left arm.

“Wow Deku! Be careful Nerd!” Danial shrieked, wrapping his arms around the still injured Jay, to keep him from falling over.

“Sorry Danny. I just missed you… a lot.” Jay mumbles into Danial's neck, still holding him tightly in Skyler’s entryway. Not knowing the black-haired male was right behind them, not seeming bothered at all by them blocking his front door.

“I missed you too, but there was some stuff I needed to take care of. A surprise for my favorite crybaby.” Danial smugly smirks, Jay pulls back slightly to look down at him with a confused head tilt.

“What kind of surprise?” The brunette asks him, Skyler coming up behind them to give Danial Jay’s bag. Making the brunette even more puzzled. “Thanks Monk Boy, now let’s get that cute ass in the car, I got something to show you.” Carefully, Danial and Skyler get Jay into the blonde’s car. Once the brunette was secure and the passenger door closed.

Jay could see Danial saying something to Skyler, spiking the taller male's curiosity, especially after a large smile spread across the black-haired male’s face, much to Jay’s surprise.

He watches as Danial chuckles with a satisfied smirk before walking around the car and climbing in. The brunette was at a complete loss for words. ‘What the hell is going on?’

“Umm, Danny, are you going to tell me where we are going? And why did Skyler look so happy? I’ve only seen him smile like that maybe a handful of times.” Jay says, staring at his smug looking fiancé, completely bewildered.

“Don’t you worry, your pretty little head Deku, it’s a surprise. I told him what the surprise was, and he approved, now, sit back and enjoy the ride.” Danial says, still wearing that now annoyingly smug ass smirk on his face, making Jay grumble in his seat with his arms crossed, glaring blankly ahead of them. “Fuck you are cute when you pout for a giant, but seriously Deku don’t worry, I promise you will love it.” He says, offering his hand for the other to hold.

After a couple of blocks, Jay finally gives up on pouting and takes Danial’s offered hand, making the blonde chuckle, kissing the back of the blushing male’s hand.

They drove for a good 20 minutes before coming to pull over in front of a house, a house that Jay was very familiar with. His dream house.

There were tears in emerald eyes as Danial helped him out of the car. The house had been on the market for the past five years, no one willing to purchase it for what it was worth when it needed a little updating and restoration.

“The reason I wanted you to hang out with Skyler today was so I could talk to Simon about how to make you feel better, to feel safer. We came up with a couple of ideas, but the main one was that we find a new home. Somewhere to start the next chapter of our lives together and move on from the past. Our new beginning.” Danial said, staring up at his glassy eyed love.

Jay stood there, at a loss for words, staring at the house. Danial starts to get nervous, fidgeting in his spot beside his lover. The brunette moves his crutch further under his arm to put the arm around a tense blonde’s shoulders. Pulling Danial to him to kiss his head. That was when the smaller male realized he hadn’t been breathing the entire time because he was so nervous.

“This is the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me, Danny. I… I can’t believe you bought it. It was crazy expensive and needed some much work. Are you sure… you want to make a commitment like this?” Jay’s voice is soft, but hesitant. The smaller can feel the love in his words, but also the fear. Worried that the blonde will change his mind down the road.

“I looked at the house Deku. What do you think I’ve been doing for seven hours? I paid extra for an inspector to come out immediately and give me the rundown of what is wrong and what needs work. It’s not really in that bad of shape. Mostly just some cosmetic stuff, and new pipes and electrical. The old man that owned the house was so eager to finally sell it, he came down here himself to talk to me. The only thing left is for you to sign the paperwork right next to mine.” Danial was smiling up at his stunned and blubbering lover.

Before he could say anything else, Jay cupped the back of his neck and yanked him forward and up, planting a searing kiss on the shocked blonde's lips. They stand there for what feels like forever, making out in front of their new home when they finally, unfortunately, have to pull away for air.

“Where do I sign and when can we move in?” Jay asks, panting, his emerald eyes trained on Danial puffy wet lips, subconsciously licking his own lips.

The shorter male smiles, wrapping his arms around Jay’s slim waist.

“The contractor is coming over tomorrow morning and we can move in no later than two weeks from now. The papers are inside, come on.” For the first time since Jay was rescued, he felt safe and at peace, ready for anything with his soulmate beside him.

That night they stayed up late, bundled up in their bed, going over plans for their new house and their wedding.

They decided to have their wedding at the small church down the road that was perfect for what they wanted. Once Jay got his casts off, they planned to go down there and get married. Just their closest friends and family knowing about the ceremony. Then have the reception dinner at their brand-new home. The perfect way to start the next stage of their lives together.

As they finally drifted off, no dreams could compare to what they were about to have and what they were making together.

Both of them couldn’t wait for their future together, forever and always.
