The house was amazing and Benji was right, it almost looked like a Hotel, when we walked into the dining room I had to be conscious of not letting my mouth hang open the table was big enough for like 20 people, who has 20 people over for a sit down meal, I mean yes we had parties at our house with much more than 20 people but then finger snacks where served and the people had to stand around. “So, what can I get you?” Sophia asked again. “She’ll have a glass of non-alcoholic champagne please Sophia.” Benji said. I look over my shoulder at him because why would he decide for me. “You would have chosen water.” He said reading my mind. “Oh, you two are so cute together.” Sophia said, clearly her husband didn’t bring her up to speed with our situation. Benji moved in next to me and took me around the waist pulling me towards him. “We do.” Was all he said. John cleared his throat and then Sophia realized her mistake. “I’m so sorry how stupid of me.” I pulled away from Benji and touch her hand. “Don’t be, we do look cute together I totally agree with you, if things were different, I would have married Benji and irritated him till the day I died.” I smiled. That broke the ice and everyone was smiling again. Benji on the other hand pulled me back to under his arm, kissed me on the forehead and said “You would never have irritated me.” “Well now you will never know.” I didn’t say it to make him unhappy it was just a fact, but I could see his face drop. I got on my toes and gave him a kiss and whispered in his ear “I’m sorry.” He just shook his head at me.
Sophia gave me my non-alcoholic champagne, the men took their drink and I take it Sophia was on Don Perinon because I did see the bottle. “Come come let’s sit.” To the side of the dining room there was a little sitting area, probable where you have your drinks before the time. “So, what did the Dr. say?” Sophia asked like she knew me for years. “Jeez women should I gag you or something?” John asked her. “What it’s a valid question and I want to get to know my knew girlfriend.” Wow now I’m her new girlfriend. Benji wanted to start but I touched his leg, if she wanted to be my new girlfriend then I have to answer the question. “Well, she said I’m 5 weeks pregnant and if I want an abortion I have a week to decide.” That was the highlights for me. That took Sophia back she took a sip of her champagne looked at Benji then at John. “You asked love.” John said. She took another sip before she asked “You not considering that are you?” “Truthfully it was in the back of my mind, but it won’t make a difference in my situation with my parents or with Benji and the child didn’t ask for his dad to knock me up, so I’m not considering it anymore.” She gave a big sigh. “That is wonderful to hear because kids are such a blessing in your life, we have two sons and I don’t know what I would do without them.” It was easy for her to say she’s married to a multi billionaire by the looks of it and she has a support system I have nothing a few grand in my bank account, a job as a bar maid and that is where my support end. “I’ll take your word for it.”
“Let’s go eat.” John said. Probable trying to get his wife of my back. Benji pulled me to the one side and asked me “Are you okay?” I just shrugged because I had no clue. “I’m sorry I forgot Sophia has no filter and says and ask whatever she thinks off.” “It’s not a problem Benji.” “Are you sure?” “Well, it isn’t like we can excuse ourselves and leave at this point, is it?” “No but still.” “I’ll be fine.” He took my hand pulled out my chair and we all sat at the one side of this massive dinning table. The waiter came in and put a lobster starter in front of us. It smelled delicious but I never really ate seafood before, I know how my mother made sure I can eat anything I was just not allowed to eat anything in her presence. “Well Bon Appetit.” Sophia said. Benji leaned into me “You, okay?” “Yes, stop asking me.” “I’m just worried.” “I’ll be fine I promise.”

I forgot all about Sophia and her runaway mouth, she put her foot in it a few times. And now we are sitting with a starter in front of us that looks like a whole lobster and there was a lot of butter and garlic, things Jojo’s stomach is not use to and I know her she will eat it not to disappoint the host, I had to ask her if she was okay needless to say she wasn’t happy I asked her again if she was okay. “So, John, I take it business is good?” I asked because someone had to get the attention away from Jojo and the pregnancy. “No no no, NO business talk at the table.” Sophia said. “Well love I think that’s the safest option right now.” “Nonsense, Jojo, I heard you in your last few months of law school?” “I am.” “I’m sure you don’t know it but John here does scholarships for his employees that wants to study and as you are almost finish, I think he can help you.” ‘Oh God Sophia’ I thought to myself, you are pressuring her. “That’s very nice of you but I would have to decline, you already giving me a job and you got me a place to stay I can’t except anymore from you.” “Nonsense.” Sophia started again “Sophia respect her privacy if that is what she wants respect it.” John said “But….” Sophia started again. “Don’t get me wrong Sophia and you John, I really appreciate it but I don’t want to take advantage of you and right about now I think I am.” “You are not and I don’t ever want to hear that again.” Sophia said with her mother voice. “That’s just how I feel Sophia but really I appreciate the offer.”
