Benji
While we were eating, I could see Jojo’s eyes just wanted to close, she was so tired. I really hoped she wasn’t getting sick that would mess with my plans just a little bit. I took her plate from her, “You done?” “Yes, thank you.” She didn’t eat much so that was another issue. When I got back to the living room, she was laying on the coach. “Angel let’s go to bed.” “But you wanted to watch a movie.” “There’s a TV in my room we can watch a movie in bed.” I knew I was going to watch whatever we watching alone because Jojo wouldn’t even make it up the stairs. Before she got up from the coach, I put my arms underneath her and picked her up. “I can walk.” “Nope I’m carrying you.” I carried her up the stairs and put her in my bed. I’ve never look after a woman the way I look after Jojo but then no other women were ever going to be my wife that makes a difference, normally if they are sick, I’ll send them home but here I am carrying her up the stairs and making sure she drink some of the meds Suzie gave her. I got in on my side she crawled towards me laid with her head on my chest and she was gone within 10 minutes I didn’t even decide what to watch yet and she was sleeping. I decided to leave the movie and rest as well; we need to get enough rest and us time in before we go back home because then the madness will start.
The next morning when I woke up the first thing I did was touched Jojo’s forehead checking for a temperature and she was hot; she was actually burning hot. I put on my pants and walked down looking for Suzie to get the thermometer. “Suzie!” I called out. She was on the phone which means I have to wait, I’m not patient not when my soon to be wife is burning up but when I heard what she was organizing I settled down a bit, she was organizing the flowers for our engagement tomorrow hopefully Jojo will feel better by then. When she put the phone down, she said “Flowers are arranged.” “Awesome thank you Suzie. Do we have a thermometer?” “Yes why?” “Jojo is burning up.” “Oh goodness go up I’ll bring the medical kit.” I went back up to Jojo; she was still sleeping. When Suzie came into the room, she took the thermometer and checked her fever which was over 101. “We need to cool her down.” Suzie said, “Should we call a doctor?” “No not yet if we can’t break her fever today, we will call the doctor tomorrow, okay?” She knew my brain always went to worse case scenarios. “Okay. What should I do.” “Go get a wash cloth and make it wet with cold water, and a glass of water with ice in.” I went downstairs and got everything Suzie needed. “Put the cloth on her forehead.” When the cloth touched her skin, she opened her eyes and looked at me. “Benji?” “Morning angel you are burning up.” She tried to touch her forehead but the wet cloth was in the way. “Can you sit up straight for us Jojo?” Suzie asked. Jojo tried but she was too weak so I helped her to sit against the pillows. “Here drinks some water.” She took the glass and took a few sips of water “What is sore angel?” I asked her. She got even redder than she already was, okay clearly her vagina was tender from all the sex. “Anything else your throat, ears, stomach? Anything?” “No, I’m just tired.” “And you have a fever. There must be something else wrong. Suzie, we need to call the doctor.” “Benji please there is nothing he can do for her she just told you she has no other symptoms except for the fever and being tired. I promise you if it is not gone by tomorrow, we can call the doctor.” Suzie said. “Benji I really don’t need a doctor just some pain meds and something for fever and I’ll be okay.” “Where do you have pain?” I asked her again, “you said nothing was sore.” “Just my head nothing serious.” “Okay I’ll get you some.”

Benji was so worried about me I couldn’t believe it, in some way I was worried about myself because this wasn’t normal I’m not a person that get’s sick ever and I definitely don’t get head aches but here I am in the Hamptons in bed with a fever and a head ache and this was suppose to be a romantic getaway, what is romantic about being sick, hopefully Suzie is right and I don’t need a doctor and I will be fine by tomorrow I really hope so. I took the tablets Suzie gave me and drank it down with the ice-cold water, I would love to jump into an ice-cold shower but I think I should stay in bed if the fever gets worse, I’ll jump in the shower. I laid back down with a very anxious Benji looking at me. “Are you sure there is nothing else we should do?” He asked Suzie. “Well, there is something you can do for me while I look after Jojo.” I could see she was trying to divert his attention. “Fine just let me shower first.” Benji kissed me on the cheek and walked to the bathroom. “Thanks Suzie” “My pleasure Jojo, but I’m going to need you to sleep this bug off, he won’t stop stressing until this fever is gone.” “I promise I will.” “Okay I’ll check in on you every few minutes.” “That’s not necessary I’m probable sleep.” “At least it will make him feel better if I do.” “Thanks Suzie.” “My pleasure dear.” I took another sip of the water and turned around I didn’t want to fall asleep before I say goodbye to Benji but that was a hopeless case I was asleep before he came out of the shower.
