Chapter 278 Chapter 278
Coop
We left Riana in our apartment with the men, I told the door man to check in on them a few times when he had a moment, I also had the cleaners there today so I wasn’t too worried Riana will scratch where she is not supposed to scratch. We were in my SUV when my phone rang, showing it was Martin. “We did tell him we are coming in later, didn’t we?” I asked Jojo. “You did.” I answered the call on Bluetooth which means Martin’s voice came over the speakers in the SUV. “Morning Martin.” “Morning Coop where are you?” He sounded very upset “We told you we are going to be late.” “I know that but where are you right now?” “I’m in the car with Jojo why?” “Fuck”. “Martin what is going on?” “Morning Jojo.” Martin said. “Hi Martin What’s wrong?” “I have bad news.” “Okay give it to us.” I said. “Well firstly Olivia is waiting for you in your office.” “Fuck great, why?” “That’s part of the other bad news.” “Spill it, Martin.” I said getting a little frustrated with this whole thing. “I’m sorry Jojo.” “Martin what is going on?” Jojo asked. “Your family is on the front page of every tabloid in the country as well as local newspapers.” “What the fuck?” I screamed at Martin. Jojo put her hand on my lap. “What is the headline?” Jojo asked him. “Oil tycoon’s scandal. Arrange marriages, Pregnant runaway bride, money laundering. What is the Wayne’s and Devons up to and where is the runaway bride?” “I’m going to kill her.” I screamed. “Yes, well she brought everyone a copy of the tabloid she even gave your father one.” “Did my father see her?” “No Derrick stopped her.”
Jojo
My heart was beating in my throat as Martin read us the headline. The only thing wrong in that whole sentence is that I was a runaway bride. Runaway yes but not bride. My phone started to go off, with notification after notification that it was on social media as well. I open the one app only to see a photo of me and Benji on, on another it was my parents and Benji’s parents. With a heading saying, “Are these people still living in the 1900 when we arrange marriages for our children?” No where The Coopers was named nor my name, just my parents, Benji’s parents and then off course a photo of me. “I’m going to kill her I swear.” Coop said as he put the phone down. “What are you looking at?” “It’s all-over social media as well.” “That fucking bitch got a work around my fathers’ letter.” “What work around?” “She’s bringing you into this via your parents and Benji.” “I told you she wasn’t finish with us.” “Well, I’m finished with her.” Just as we stopped in the parking garage of the office Coops phone rang again this time, I could see the caller ID said Benji. “I don’t want to talk to him.” “You don’t have to, but do you want to stay in the car and listen what he has to say?” “Well, I can’t walk in the building without you can you just imagine the looks I’m going to get.” “Ignore the people angel.”
Coops phone stop ringing and then it started again. I was sitting next to Coop when he answered. “Benji how are you?” “Who the fuck did you piss off.” Benji said as a way of saying hello. “It’s Olivia.” “You sure?” “Yes, she wants me back and don’t like the fact that I moved on with Jojo.” “How is she?” Coop looked at me and saw the tears in my eyes, but I shook my head. “Hanging in there.” “Well, what are you going to do about it my parents are livid?” “I’ll handle her from my side but if I can ask you to make havoc from your side as well. We need to put this bitch in her place.” “Wow Coop Jojo really got to you.” The first thing that went through my mind was ‘I didn’t get to you or else you wouldn’t be engaged already.’ Coop looked at me “Yes she did and I don’t want Olivia near me but apparently she’s waiting in my office, and she gave everyone a copy of those tabloids.” “Don’t let Jojo go in Coop she won’t be able to handle it.” He didn’t know I could hear everything he was saying. Coop looked at me then said, “I’m sure she can handle whatever comes her way Benji.” “You don’t know her like I do, she’s fragile.” I wanted to say something, but Coop put his hand over my mouth. “Not as fragile as you think.” “Okay but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” “You are misjudging her Benji.” “If you say so, I’ll get my lawyers on this, tell Jojo …….” He got quiet. “Tell Jojo what?” “Tell her I’m sorry this happened.” “I will, keep me updated.” “Will do you to.”
I jumped when my phone rang, not many people had this new number, Benji was one of them and then Cynthia, Jaden and Martin and off course Coop. It said Unknown number. “Should I answer this?” I asked Coop. “It’s your choice angel.” I took the phone and answered the call “Hello.” “What in God’s name are you doing in Orlando that this is coming to us?” My mom screamed on the phone. “Hello mom I’m well, how are you?” I said sarcastically. “Don’t try and be funny with me.” “How did you get my number.” “That is not important what is important is the fact that all our business is on the front page of every fucking magazine, my phone hasn’t stop ringing all morning.” My mom was very angry she didn’t swear often. “It wasn’t my fault mom.” “Well, it’s not your dads or mine either. You better fix this Jojo.” “Well, they got it wrong in any case I’m not a runaway bride.” “Don’t try to be funny with me, they are slandering our name.” “Well get your lawyers to take the tabloids on.” “Funny Jojo you know we don’t have a laywer yet.” “Well mom then I can’t help sorry.” I disconnected the call and looked at Coop. “Well, my mom knows.” “I heard that. You ready to go and face Olivia.” “Yes, let’s go.”
