Chapter 50 Let me...

Chapter 50 Let me...
The heavy glass door of the terrace slid shut behind them with a muffled, resonant thud, sealing out the cool valley air and enclosing them within the warm, dim sanctuary of the suite. The atmosphere inside had shifted, dense and heavy with an unmistakable magnetic pull. The low amber glow from the woven lamps bathed the room in shadows, casting long, swaying silhouettes across the exposed brick and dark timber beams.
‎Camille did not hesitate. The moment the threshold was crossed, she closed the distance between them, stepping into Holland’s immediate space with an unyielding, heated focus. Her hands came up to frame Holland’s jawline, her thumb tracing the soft curve of her cheek bone before sliding down to grip the lapels of Holland’s tailored jacket. The sheer hunger in Camille’s dark eyes was undisguised, raw and absolute, stripped entirely of her usual lighthearted banter.
‎She pressed forward, forcing Holland to take a step backward. Then another. Holland’s heels sank into the plush weave of the tapestry rug as she retreated, her breath catching in the back of her throat with every measured step Camille demanded of her. The heat radiating off the younger woman was intoxicating, a physical force that made Holland’s skin prickle beneath her clothes.
‎Holland tried to gather her thoughts, tried to summon the cold, logical control within herself that had managed every crisis in her life for the last decade. Pull back, her mind whispered, a faint warning signaling the very dangerous territory they were breaching. To stop this before it consumes everything. But the impulse withered as quickly as it formed. She was in too deep. Every touch of Camille’s fingers, every step pushing her further into the room, eroded her defenses until her resolve melted away completely. The control she clung to so fiercely was slipping through her fingers like sand.
‎Camille’s eyes remained locked on Holland’s, dark and burning with an intensity that left no room for doubt. She guided Holland backward through the suite, past the low leather armchairs and the heavy urns of dried pampas grass, steering her straight toward the private sleeping alcove. When the back of Holland’s knees met the plush edge of the high mattress, her breath hitched.
‎With a firm, deliberate push against Holland’s shoulders, Camille sent her backward onto the vast, crisp expanse of the queen-size bed.
‎Before Holland could even adjust to the softness of the mattress beneath her, Camille moved over her, knees sinking into the duvet on either side of Holland’s hips. The sheer presence of her, the heat, the weight, the absolute focus, fully trapped Holland in place. Camille reached up, her fingers instantly finding the silk scarf wrapped around her neck. With a fluid, practiced movement, she unraveled the delicate fabric, freeing it from her neck while keeping her gaze fixed on Holland’s flushed face.
‎“Camille, maybe... maybe we should...”
‎The hesitation died on Holland’s tongue as Camille moved. There was no hesitation left in her, no space for distance or logic. In one fluid, breathless movement, Camille caught both of Holland’s wrists, sweeping them upward and pinning them flat against the mattress above her head. Holland’s lungs seized, her chest rising and falling in rapid, shallow hitches while her dark hair fanned across the white linen.
‎“No,” Camille breathed, the word a soft, dark velvet command against Holland's mouth.
‎Her fingers worked with silent purpose, looping the smooth silk scarf around Holland’s wrists. She brought the fabric around, securing a firm, deliberate knot that bound Holland’s hands to the wooden headboard. The silk gave slightly against her skin—soft, deliberate, completely painless—yet the restraint was total. Holland was exposed, entirely anchored to the bed beneath her.
‎A shudder ran through Camille as she hovered above, her ribs expanding and contracting in the exact, jagged rhythm of Holland’s ragged breath. The air between them burned, thick with unspoken need. Camille looked down, her dark gaze locking onto Holland’s wide, dark eyes.
‎And then, for one suspended, silent heartbeat, the fierce, unyielding drive in Camille’s posture fractured. The commanding fire softened, exposing the raw, aching tenderness beneath her hunger.
‎“Please let me,” Camille whispered. The low, thick cadence of her voice carried an earnestness that echoed off the quiet walls of the alcove. “Let me take care of you.”
‎The words struck straight through Holland’s defenses, vibrating in the deepest hollow of her chest. For years, she had been the anchor. She had carried every burden, contained every crisis, built every wall, standing completely alone as the pillar everyone leaned on. No one had ever asked to shoulder the weight for her. No one had ever looked at her with this level of desperate, selfless devotion.
The realization hit her like a physical wave, leaving her breathless, her pulse hammering against her throat as she looked back into Camille’s eyes. Holland felt the last remaining wall inside her crumble to ash. She let go of the fight, letting her weight sink fully into the mattress. Looking up into Camille’s eyes, Holland simply nodded.
‎A soft, shuddering breath escaped Camille’s lips at the silent surrender. She leaned down slowly, her hair falling forward like a curtain, and pressed her lips against Holland’s. The kiss was no longer a collision of built-up frustration; it was soft, reverent, and lingering. Camille’s mouth moved over Holland’s with exquisite patience, tasting her, reassuring her, mapping the contours of her lips with a tender devotion that made Holland’s heart hammer wildly against her ribs.
‎Camille shifted back, her hands gliding down to the lapels of Holland’s blazer. Her fingers worked through the fabric, peeling back the structured, heavy material to expose the delicate silk blouse beneath. Bound overhead by the soft silk scarf, Holland lay entirely still, a deep flush rising along her neck as the jacket was drawn off her arms and dropped to pool on the sheets.
‎Then came the blouse. Camille’s knuckles grazed the warm, bare curve of Holland’s collarbones as each small pearl button slid from its loop. Her hot breath fluttered over the exposed skin of Holland’s throat, making her pulse jump frantically beneath the surface. As the silk parted, revealing the soft line of Holland’s chest and dark lace, Camille’s breath caught—a low, helpless sound escaping her lips. She leaned down, pressing her mouth directly into the hollow of Holland’s throat, her lips lingering over the wild, hammering beat of her pulse.
‎Holland’s back arched off the mattress as Camille’s mouth began to move—tracing a slow, burning path down the column of her neck, across the bone of her shoulder, and down over the swell of her chest. With her arms bound above her head, Holland had no way to reach out, no way to pull Camille closer or pull away. The total lack of leverage amplified every single brush of skin, every trace of heat, sending sharp currents straight to her core.
‎Camille’s hands moved down to the waistband of Holland’s tailored trousers, unhooking the clasp and drawing the zipper down. She worked the heavy fabric over Holland’s hips, sliding it down the long line of her legs until it fell away at the foot of the bed.
‎Holland lay exposed in the low, golden glow, clad only in dark lace. Her limbs felt heavy and weightless all at once, floating in the warm air while an intense, tight ache coiled deep in her lower belly.
‎Camille sat back on her heels, her dark eyes tracing every line of Holland’s body, dark and burning with undisguised adoration. Then, with fluid grace, Camille reached for her own clothes, shedding her blouse and skirt until her bare, sun-kissed skin caught the amber light.
‎She lowered herself back down. The moment skin met skin, a sharp, electric shock ripped through them both, pulling a synchronized gasp from their throats.
‎Camille froze above her, overwhelmed by the sudden, crushing wave of heat. She lowered her head, resting her forehead against Holland’s, letting their shared breath mingle in the tight space between their lips. Her air came out ragged, unfiltered and trembling.
‎“God, you feel so great,” Camille whispered against Holland's mouth, the words breaking out of her like an uncontrollable confession. “I want you so bad... I need to feel you. Every... Every part of you.”
