Chapter 141 2-13 - A NEW ENEMY
\-VANCE'S POV-
The partially dead man only gave a manic laugh, "Bah-ha-ha-ha-ha!" while his weak red eyes stared at me. No fear was detected. I pursed my lips as the rage in me escalated.
Duke, Blayne, and Raj were defensively positioned at attacking points while Marlena rushed to my side.
She strived to break through the walls of his mind before he descended to the hell where he emerged from. He squirmed on the floor, resisting her magic. Marlena persisted by creating a green pentagram beneath him. Each green point released a shackle of neon chains that tethered him.
"Grrrrrroik!" He shrieked as Marlena's superior magic bore into his
skin.
"Alpha, this man is a barakian
kripling," Marlena whispered after her discovery.
A barakian kripling is a warlock who was brought back from the hollows of hell after already dying by a necromancer, which signified that he had a master. Now turned into an unholy pawn. Someone must have summoned this diabolic creature for this fucking mission, but who was behind this?
As Marlena began to retrieve bits and pieces from the enemy. In a matter of seconds, he muttered a spell that open a black smoky portal between his blood -clad body and the pentagram.
"No!" Marlena rapidly tried to hinder his actions by using her force to restrain him, but she was two seconds too late.
Everything happened in the blink of an
eye.
Our heads snapped to the altar where he appeared next. One fast hand reached out to snatch our
Coyolxauhqui stone. Marlena
teleported to his side, while I clutched his left leg and simultaneously sank my claws into his flesh.
His steel bar nails scraped the surface of the Coyolxǎuhqui stone but missed it. The stone shifted and rocked from the impact. Thank goodness that it did not fall out of place. I spoke too soon as one of the white wolf figures fell to the ground, splattering. The kripling maintained his airborne position.
Fuck this spawn!
He used his only active hand to shoot a fireball at me, which unfortunately caught my ribcage. Stumbling backwards, I loosened my grip on his
leg. At the same time, his blazing red eyes turned to Marlena and encased her and the others in a pink- crystallized square prison.
"Alpha be careful," Marlena warned, slapping her palms on the crystal.
"I'm alright." My cell regeneration has already begun healing. No permanent damage was done. I charge after him.
Reverting to his long black smoky form with the skull like a molten rock,
he swished at various angles across the room. He moved at such a breakneck speed that I had to intensify my werewolf vision to keep on his foggy
tail.
Marlena shattered the crystal to
liberate herself by creating a blue
sphere of swirling electrical voltage by bringing her palms together at her chest. Several green pentagrams appear on the walls, ceiling, and floor. The whooshing kripling avoided them as he continued his flash movements
through the air.
With my right hand, I formed the signal of my index and middle finger pressed together upright while the
others folded into my palm. This
resulted in the walls of the temple protruding crimson red arrowhead spears to stop his movements.
He hovered in the center of the ceiling,
viciously peering down at us. He was trying to manifest an opening. Too bad that Marlena and I were his main obstacle. His black blood dripped with a sizzling acidic sound on the sacred floor of the temple.
My power, which permeated throughout the building, repelled his liquid essence because he was a mixture of evil and magic.
Slashing my claws into midair again
produced the same red blades that
smashed the crystal that seized my
men. They gnashed their teeth and
shook the splinters from their fur, roaring at the enemy. From her right palm, Marlena darted
out a line of blue light at him that he blocked with a large yellow ultra-ray shield. The guys appeared at my side in their wolf form. Marlena's powers trumped his as her linear light pierced
his shield and went straight into his
body.
Buff!
His body fell to the ground and I
gestured with a hand symbol that
softened the floor underneath him. Like quicksand, his wounded body sank into the hardwood floor which held him captive. Before he died, he sputtered a spell. " Bla-chi-ver-fys-wix-duz-eto."
Marlena tried to entrap his departing spirit, which elevated from his body. She created a blue magical cage that compressed him until it went, poof! Disappearing and teleporting his hand to his master. Though his solid frame
turned spongy and fermented with his stinking, black blood foaming. Blayne, Duke, and Raj morphed into
their human forms with jumpy nerves that caused their muscles to twitch. All eyes stared at the deceased enemy. "Well, that was fun." Duke coughed
and fanned like that could eliminate the horrendous faecal odor. "This has got to be the worst battle we fought
where the enemy's stench alone is enough to kill you."
"These fuckers were vanquished decades ago. Who the hell is powerful enough to open hell's portal and release this damnation?" Raj put his hand on top of his head. "Marlena, cremate this diabolical fiend and sprinkle our holy water on
his ashes." I walked to the altar and picked up the Coyolxauhqui stone.
the
Four small scratches were on the surface, but what troubled me the most was the missing tourmaline shard. Replaying what transpired in my mind. He must have snatched shard and teleported it to his master when he chanted the spell to make that part of his body disappear before us. The crippling truth was that they
might not have stolen the stone, but
they succeeded in obtaining a part of its power. Just as they did with Alucard, the Vampire King's maacah scepter, and Ophelia, the Witch Queen's mystical crystals five years ago. Fragments of these powerful relics were missing, while the objects remained intact after the Supernatural Triad Council gatekeepers successfully completed their mission of retrieving them. Unfortunately, the dragon eggs were never recovered. Be it known, that a year after that, Witch Princess Octavia
went missing. The following year, it was Vampire Princess Aliyah who was abducted. The common denominator was that they were found by Wildrill
Creek in Alaska, drained of blood. As my brain computed the possible threat to my bloodline, Marlena demanded my urgent attention.
"Alpha, there's another." Marlena's brows furrowed in horror as her narrowing eyes delved into the motors
of her mind to envision the second enemy. "He's at the pack house."
Blayne, Duke, and Raj's faces paled with mortification, eyeing each other. "No. Don't tell me......." Slipped out in disbelief and I shifted to get there faster. Sianna and my children, Vaheed, Venus, and Valen were there.
Raj and Blayne stayed to guard the temple and summoned the Elders to purge the building. Duke shifted
into
his wolf once more and Marlena flew behind me.
I

SIANNA'S POV-
While Vance and his team were busy dealing with the intruder, Hailey, Keisha, Cleo and I managed the pack■ members at the pack house. Most of the others immediately went to the
underground bunker because they
preferred to be there.
The alarm was yellow coded, which
indicated that we faced a single threat
and the enemy was cornered to be taken down. Nothing that the boys could not handle, yet something awry was in the air.
Everyone was edgy. The kids were in teenagers and having fun. The ladies and I kept alert while in the kitchen
the games room being rowdy
having tea and chips and were high with worry about our mates. "They are taking forever to get back,"
Keisha noted while sipping her coffee in the mug.
"They haven't given us a green alert
for us to go to the bunkers for safety. We probably are concerned over nothing." I sat on a stool at the wrap-
around island. It was in our nature to worry about our mates. No amount of pep talk would change that.
"I hope they come straight to us once
the fight ends and are not idling around when we are here ripping our hair out." Cleo sighed at their bad habit. "They like to have man-talk where they keep things from........"
Cleo trailed off with her mouth open and her hand with the tea mug stationed in the air. With icy eyes, her body stiffened, motionless.
Then, after inspecting others around
the kitchen and dining room areas, everyone halted in the middle of whatever they were doing. Suddenly, everyone in the pack house froze and a scalding heat radiated
through the building. I spun around to confront the source.
The airborne kripling half-coiled his
fingers into a semi-circle and pointed it towards me. Something invisible clutched around my throat, cutting my
air supply while lifting me in the air.
My vision blurred, getting darker. Grasping my own neck, I wheezed and while struggling to free myself from the scalding death choke. My
gasped
heart tightened as though steel bands
constricted it.
Thinking of the pack members and my responsibility to protect them, I clasped my palms to form a triangle at my chest as I summoned the white energy within me and discharged it at the kripling. His clutch slackened and I
darted another at him.
Sensing his mother in danger, Valen teleported into the living room,
standing behind the black-cloaked
kripling, and with gun fingers fired a
white magical shuriken into his back. The kripling's hold on me released and
I dropped to the floor, gasping for air
to fill my lungs. He crouched forward from the damage before turning around to face Valen's seething wrath.
"Vance," I called out over the mind
link.
Failure.
There was a blocked shield surrounding the pack house. Whenever
I tried to poke through with the mind-
link, the force field became more tangible.
Crumbling on the floor, I could not
move. Dumb, deaf, and lame, I
fearfully watched my sixteen-year-old heir fight for his pack. My senses were
gradually recovering as my heart hammered into my chest with apprehension for my children. Not being able to manage Valen, the
kripling disappeared in thin air. " Mom," Valen rushed to my side, helping me stand on my wobbling legs. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine." I mustered the strength to
stand on my own.
The kripling could not have been gone because everyone remained frozen. My searching eyes wandered to all areas
where
sight was possible. The leaden
heat lodged stubbornly in the dwelling.
The demonic spawn was hiding,
waiting to strike again.
Grabbing his shoulders, I hurriedly ordered for his protection. "Valen, take the kids and go straight to the bunker. "Marlena's protection seal should
cover them there.
"Ahh!"
Before he could respond, a scream
higher than the others caught my attention. "Venus." She was with the
other kids.
Valen teleported to the games room
while I used my wolf's speed to get there fast. In horror, the only thing I saw was the kripling vanishing with
Venus, Valen lunging after him,
disappearing as well. The heat lifted
and so did the force field. The adults
unfroze, logging into a bewildered
state.
"Valen, no!" I yelled with my hand stretched out, trying to catch them but failing. My head nearly burst with the pressure of screaming. Tears leaked of
their own volition. "Venus!"
The other teenagers in the room were
panicking and shrieking for different reasons. They appeared stuck in an
illusion, one that caused heartrending
fear.
"Shit!"
I tried the mind link once more and
examined each teenager. They spoke gibberish and looked ghastly spooked. "Vance," I desperately beckoned through the mind-link with all my
might.
"Firecat, I'm almost there. What's
happening?"
"Valen and Venus are gone." I
frantically ranted, "The warlock took
Venus and Valen followed. Please have Marlena ask Miriam to come to the pack house and go with Marlena to get
our kids."
I went over to Vaheed at the pool table
with Theo, Thaines, and Raina. Smitten with grief, Vaheed cried, "My
family's gone. They're all dead." "No baby, we're here." I hugged him
and then lifted his chin to look at me.
The hypnosis has his eyes unblinking
with sclera only, staring blankly from
being submerged into it. I placed my
right middle finger in the center of his
forehead and channeled my white
energy through the bond to shatter the
illusion. Vaheed collapsed in my arms.
Others arrived. I felt their presence
towards the front of the pack house.
My eyes switched to them while I held
Vaheed.
Theo extended his claws, "I'll fucking
kill you today!" Unknowingly, he
lunged after Azara, who was yelping
and kept brushing imaginary things
from
her
body.
Vance swiftly caught Theo by the collar
and used the pack bond to pull him out
of the hallucination.
"Why aren't you going after that thing? You should be there." I almost shouted at Vance and Marlena, who appeared at the threshold of the games
room door as my voice cracked. I
pulled
Vaheed with me as I held
Raina's hand from trying to scratch
out her own
eyes.
Vance's face saddened and his lips held
a grim line. I felt helpless beyond
despair.
Devin coughed endlessly and aimed to yank out his own tongue.
Marlena mumbled a spell. Keisha appeared in time to grasp
Devin's hand as blood dabbed his
tongue. Shortly, the rest of the adults
swarmed the room to comfort their
children. Though they came out of the
illusion, their minds were a hazy mess. Hailey enveloped Raina in a firm embrace to console her. Cleo
enwrapped Theo and Thaines in her
arms to dispel their shudder of fright.
Tara sat Azara on the couch, gently
soothing her with backstrokes and
kissing the top of her head. Marlena concentrated on her locator
chants and she paused, her eyes
tragically dulled. "I can't reach them."
