Chapter 24. Humiliated

POV Author

"Hey, Hana! What's going on with your friend? Why can't she always smile as usual? Her face looks sour and terrible!” chirped his co-worker.

It had been an hour but Cynthia still didn't say anything. The woman only answered as necessary when visitors asked. Sometimes Cynthia also responds to words with a nod or a shake.

Of course, this confused her co-workers because Cynthia didn't normally behave like this. As if what the woman was going through was a serious problem.

Hana wanted to report to Michael immediately, but so far she has been unsuccessful in persuading Cynthia to tell her about it. Hana was also confused because this was much different from the previous Cynthia.

“Is she having serious problems, Hana? You're her close friend, you should know, right? Why don't you comfort her or invite her to talk so she doesn't feel alone?” asked partner Hana.

Even without being told, Hana already knew what she had to do, but this time Cynthia didn't want to say anything. The woman also seemed to limit herself to interact.

"Without you telling me I will also do it! The problem is all of that is useless, she remains silent." Her work partner looked at Hana with a look that was very difficult to decipher, while Hana, who knew her friend was looking at her, immediately looked back at her friend with a wrinkled forehead.

"Since when was she like that? Is it since morning? Wasn't he normal this morning, huh?" Hana who heard that immediately looked at her friend intently.

Wait, what did she say? Is this morning still okay? Meanwhile, Hana met Cynthia in the morning too, but the difference was that the woman was confused and kept quiet.

Is this?

Hana shook her head, no! She didn't have much evidence, like what she said earlier, if she continued to be rash this could put Cynthia in danger and worse, lose her job.

"Hey, Hana! Why are you dreaming one day?” Hana shook her head slowly after that she immediately approached Cynthia who was looking at the visitors peacefully.

Visitors are quite crowded, but all have been served well.

Hana stood beside Cynthia, of course, Cynthia looked at Hana confusedly. What is Hana doing here? Standing together with Cynthia.

"You want to talk yet?" she asked.

Cynthia was confused Cynthia needed a place to share her complaints, but was it appropriate for her to tell Hana a story like this?

Or, what if Hana instead chooses not to be friends with herself because of many problems? Cynthia was afraid of it all.

"You don't need to think about it. I'll still be friends with you if that's what you're afraid of. So come on! Tell me what's your problem? It's not usually for you to be this quiet. What is it?" asked Hana, who was trying to keep pressing Cynthia so that the woman would share her problems.

Hana was happy when Cynthia said that, Hana could also help the woman if it was needed.

"Nothing, I don't know what I want to tell you, Hana," Cynthia answered in the end.

“You can share your sorrow. Remember? We are friends," said Hana again, who seemed to be incessant enough to get Cynthia to talk and be honest with herself.

Cynthia's eyes widened when she saw Matthew walking towards her and Hana, Cynthia unconsciously squeezed Hana's arm strong enough to make Hana confused.

"Cynthia, what's wrong?" asked Hana curiously, now Hana followed the direction of Cynthia's eyes and the vision fell on Matthew who was smiling meaningfully.

Hana always pays attention to her surroundings while understanding this strange situation.

"Hello, how are my visitors and workers?" asked Matthew with a big smile.

Now, Matthew immediately becomes the center of attention when the man gives a speech to visitors and his employees.

Matthew's welcoming voice was warmly welcomed by visitors and employees alike. “So, I'm here to ask your opinion a little. OK, right?"

"May ..." answered several visitors and employees.

"How do you respond to this calm person without a husband?" Cynthia's eyes widened when she heard Matthew's words. Actually, what was that man doing?

Rumors were now starting to be heard in various directions, Matthew was of course pleased about that.

"Haven't I been good at giving the job of an employee who has children but not with a husband? But that woman keeps teasing me, what do you think? Were you served well?”

What is Matthew saying? Is that guy crazy? What nonsense is this?

"It's better to just fire it, how can there be such a cheap woman!" said one visitor.

Now cheer after cheer sounded as if judging the woman who was said to seduce her. Meanwhile, Cynthia continued to squeeze Hana's hand tightly.

Cynthia knew Matthew's intention, of course, she wanted to embarrass Hana in public by twisting the facts. It turns out that not only twisting the palm is easy, but twisting the facts is also an easy thing.

"Want to know who she is? Ah, yes. This is nothing. It's just that you guys should be wary of this sly woman.” Matthew looked at Cynthia with a knowing smile.

Not a few seconds later, Matthew's hand was now raised and pointing at Cynthia. "She! She's the one!”

Everyone now started whispering openly and some visitors cheered on Cynthia and some even threw food wrappers at Cynthia.

This beautiful woman was humiliated by Matthew in front of many people, of course, Cynthia couldn't stand it anymore when she heard the jeers from the visitors.

"How many children have all of them?"

"Beautiful, but not by her deeds."

"I can't believe it was her."

"Deservedly just get off the face of the earth. How could she seduce her boss?”

“Does she still have shame?”

"May also."

The visitor rumors were now starting to sound demeaning to Cynthia. It's still early for her to go to work after taking leave to care for her son but problems are already happening to her. Can it be considered as left when Matthew himself does not admit that there was a message that Cynthia sent him?

Hana briefly concluded what was happening now, Hana grabbed Cynthia's hand and suddenly took her outside.

Cynthia has resigned herself to what she will face again and what destiny accepts her today. Hana looked for a place where it was comfortable and away from the crowds.

She had to tell this to Marchel too! Yes, Marchel must know about Cynthia's problem. How could a woman as good as Cynthia be humiliated in public?
