19. "I Will Wait."

"Wow, you back early ? I thought you would spend the night and probably the day after with Immery," Riley commented when she saw Nicholas entering his room, huffing with his shoulders tense. She carefully took a step back from what she was doing, rummaging through his stuffs, trying to gather informations, using her power. She could touch any of the contents of his room, read their history and connection with Nicholas.

Nicholas shot her a look before ignoring her remark. He was already in a messed up state. Everytime he closed his eyes he could here them ; their lips crashing against each other, the little giggles and smiles.

They were happy. But he wasn't.

"Oh well looks like they have already taken a step further in their relation. Ah now I know, that's what has got you so pissed. Isn't it ? Your brother getting her first attention and....kiss ?" Riley spoke dramatically with a mixture of sarcasm her voice, hands on her hips. It wasn't a guess, she had read his mind as soon as he walked in. Another one of her powers that he had no idea about.

No one did, except the villain of her life.

In a split second she was pinned to the wall, his hand wrapped around her throat as she gave out a surprised yelp before a smirk followed.

He wouldn't hurt her. She was too deeply seated in his heart for him to ever be able to do that.

"Stop. Talking," Nicholas yelled as he greeted his teeth, letting his frustrations show through his rough actions. He wanted to rip heads off and break anything that touched him, but he knew better. He has to control.

Nicholas left her throat and took a step back, closing his eyes to calm himself down.

It's just a kiss. One fucking kiss. They are mates. It's just a kiss. He repeated the sentences in his mind a couple times as he calmed down.

"Well that was some good control. I thought you will rip my head off for a second," Riley told even though she could have defended herself for she was much more stronger than him but she did not want him to know that. Not now. Royal vampires are supposed to be the strongest but she was stronger.

"Excuse me for that. I wasn't thinking straight," Nicholas waved his hand apologetically at her which she laughed off.

"Hey I am no glass doll, I won't break with a little force. Plus you remember that I like it rough," Riley answered, her voice hoarse as she spoke the last word.

"Save it for another day, I am in no mood of playing today," Nicholas spoke defeated, he was tired, the day had been awfully long with too much of drama. He needed a good eight hour sleep to resume it all again.

"Sure. But I feel like you would want to drop these off to your brother asap," Riley spoke as she handed him a box. Nicholas eyed her suspiciously before opening it up.

"A box full of...protection ? Is this a joke ? We are supernatural creatures not humans Riley," Nicholas chuckled as he waved the box and its contents at Riley. Vampires were able to choose their own procreation process and as for his brother

"As much as I love when you laugh, this isn't a joke. Until Immery's eighteenth birthday none of you can well...finish in her. It will trigger her transformation which cannot happen without the proper spell or celestial event. Which is why I bought those...use them or she will die because of premature triggering," Riley explained before waving her hand at him and exiting his room.

Her work was done for the day.

Nicholas eyed the box in his hand. He needed to drop these off at the pack house in the morning, that is if they aren't already on the task.

Christian sets up a cup of coffee on the counter sliding it towards the other end where a still sleepy and disheveled red head comes and stand. The medicines did work like a magic on her, helping her recover almost overnight.

He reminded himself to go and thank Mary later today, her witchy medicines always worked like magic. Normal human healing process was too slow for his liking.

Immery takes the cup in her hand, inhaling the scent of the freshly brewed coffee before taking a big sip, a pleasurable  sigh leaving her lips at the taste. It was perfect. *Just like last night* her mind reminded her.

Yeah, that. She tried to not dwell upon their kiss from the last night before she fell asleep and woke up to a snoring Christian who had fallen asleep in an uncomfortable sitting position beside her with his hand perfectly placed on hers.

She found herself liking the warmth that his hand radiated, almost like a warm hot bag against her bruised skin, his lips felt good too, warm and rough against hers...

Christian followed her actions, trying to read what was she thinking about when she bit her lower lips making him harden against the fabric of his lowers.

He had decided that they need to take it slow. He would have to keep himself at bay, four centuries were already too much to bear for him.

Immery set the empty cup on the counter, the sound from it bringing both of them out from their trance; Immery from her inappropriate thoughts and Christian from his eye-fucking.

"What happened last night-" Immery started with a soft voice, trying to understand where they were standing now. But she was swiftly cut off by Christian.

"...was definitely not a mistake," he completed the sentence for her as the colour deepened around her cheeks.

"There is something between us and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt, we don't have to name it, no, not until you feel the same.." Christian continued, the finger that was against her lips moving to tuck a lone strand of hair behind her ear.

"And I will wait. Wait until you have discovered yourself, until you feel it too," Christian finished, his fingers still caressing her face while she basked the feeling, both his words and his lighter than feather touches were making the butterflies dance in the pit of her abdomen.

He will wait.

For her.

There blissful moment was cut short by the sound of the front door opening. Nicholas appeared in the kitchen almost immediately, it was easy to locate them with his advanced senses.

He stared at the red head in front of him once before looking over at his brother.

"Coffee ?" Christian questioned as the tension in the room peaked.

"No, I was just here to drop this off. You might need it soon, then we are meeting our dear friend Liam. We have loads to discuss," Nicholas spoke in one breath before passing it to Christian.

Christian walked inside with the box, wanting to give them the much needed space.

"Apologise brother" he mind linked Nicholas before walking off.

"I don't want your apology," she spoke, her honeyed eyes eating into his emerald ones. She did not want to hear his justifications, it didn't matter, not after he called her out for kissing his brother.

"Good, because I don't feel like you deserve one," Nicholas answered, each word of his spitting fire.

"What's your problem?" Immery asked,as she followed him outside the house her lips in a pout while her arms stretched in air to convey her frustration to Nicholas who turned back hearing her angry voice.

She had definitely gathered her courage up since the night they had found her, expressing her emotions was still something she still hadn't mastered but she was too angry now.

"You. You are my problem. Everything was perfectly fine when you weren't there. Me and my brother did not have to quarrel about a girl. You should have just died in the woods-" Nicholas had backed Immery up to the front wall of the house, her taking a step back as his anger peaked. Accusations flowing, tears brimming in Immery's eyes.

"Enough," Christian stopped Nicholas before he could have completed his statement. Not just for Immery but himself. He couldn't bear that thought.

Nicholas looked at his brother's face before backing away. He did not want to fight him, not when he needed his help and assistance.

"Fine. I am standing outside, come when you are done with your distraction machine," Nicholas spoke with a distaste in his tone, looking angrily at Immery before turning away.

"Why is he behaving like we have committed a crime by kissing each other ?" Immery questioned Christian with genuine curiosity once Nicholas was beyond the threshold of vampire hearing.

Christian relaxed at the sound of nearly calm voice, he was definitely not liking the clash between both of them.

"Maybe...he wanted to kiss you first," Christian answered in a flirty voice, a voice in his brain told him that it could be true. Nicholas as a person was someone who bottled up his feelings rather than expressing, exploring and letting himself feel.

"Ew. Gross. Not happening," Immery replied scrunching her nose as she made a disgusted face while Christian laughed. Without putting any effort she was already brightening up his entire life.

He couldn't wait to live his eternity with her.

"All my life I wanted to find you Immery. I was born to love you, I've been waiting all my life for you but not him. He wasn't raised with this ideology, nor did he believe in it," Christian spoke, his words trying to defend his brother, the only other person that he had in his life. He knew he shouldn't. This was their problem but they had to be a trio or the two most important people in his life would probably end up killing each other.

"But that's not my fault," Immery answered, refusing to excuse Nicholas's actions towards her. He had been a dick to her and she was in no mood of just letting it go.

"Definitely not. What you want to build with him is between you both, but I do want that to be a beautiful story," Christian told her, his voice soft and encouraging as he closed the gap between them and rubbed her shoulder before leaving her standing alone on the porch.

Immery looked at him retreating, joining beside his brother who stood in a distance from where he wouldn't have heard them.

A small part of her felt guilty. Guilty of causing a rift between the brothers just like Nicholas accused.

They looked perfect, walking together in perfect sync.
