Chapter 60 Chapter 60

Eliara’s pov

The next day I woke up on time and had my bath, and while I was in front of the mirror, making sure that I looked presentable to the rest of the healing community, I also thought of what would happen if by some unforeseen circumstance I get into a fight with some of the young healers who hated me. But then I took in deep breaths, and mentally told myself that I wasn’t going to fight with anyone as I was going to handle things the best way that I could handle.

A knock came on my door as I opened it to see Dorian standing there. These days he was haunting me so much as I didn’t like the attention that he was giving me. I was a bit flattered. What did he want from me this time.

He entered as I closed the door, then bowed to him. He waved me away like it was a minor disturbance.

“Enough with the rubbish bows. I’m here to ask if you have considered my offer.”

I shook my head.

“I have. My answer is no.”

“No?” He coughed a short laugh. “You’re making things difficult for yourself Eliara. If you don’t give me what I want, I will find it elsewhere and as for you, you will become old news. That means that I will destroy you. You’re in my pack. I hope you haven’t forgotten.”

I shook my head. “I haven’t beta Dorian, but I have to let you know that there are things that I cannot do.”

“Yeah? Like what?”

“Well… like use my powers for the destruction of this pack. I cannot let that happen.”

He closed the distance between us in a second, gripping my neck and pushing me to the wall, but he didn’t squeeze.

He just kept me there, staring into my eyes like he wanted me to be afraid of him, but I was done being afraid. I was more irritated than afraid with the way he treated me like I was trash, like I was nothing.

I was done being his puppet.

“Are you sure this is the path you want to take? I know why I’m asking because when I see you as an enemy it is over for you.”

I stared at him without saying anything as he slowly let me go and gave me a cold smile; “very well. It is clear brute force won’t work, but I’m pretty sure some girls in your healing class, they have something else to offer you. I do hope you enjoy your stay with them.”

He said that like a subtle threat and it scared me.

He went to the door as I turned to look at him.

“What did you do?”

He stopped there, his hand inches away from the handle and without turning to acknowledge me, he chuckled then opened the door and walked out leaving the door open. I took deep breaths. I couldn’t believe that he would go against me this way just because I refused to do anything that will hurt the pack.

Yes, the pack had hurt me, but I didn’t feel like going against the pack.

I looked into the mirror and saw that the confidence i had been building since morning was destroyed. There was nothing left anymore. It was gone.

With a relived sigh, I calmed my shaky insides and readied myself for the day.

The moment I got to the healing class, I noticed that I was early as I thanked my lucky stars that I didn’t have to meet up with Helga and her devils, but it didn’t take long before she entered.

“Well, well, well,” she said at the door as I turned to see the three of them wearing a short skirt that was too short with a tight tank top. Her friends were the same, except she had on black skirt and they had on whites behind her. I was about to have a crappy day with her involved.

“The beta told us to give you welcome to the healing community and that is exactly what we are going to do for you. Isn’t that right girls?”

“That’s right,” the girls behind her said.

I looked at Helga and felt a bit sad for her. She needed the validity of her friends to show that she was queen bee, but all she did was insult herself over and over again.

“Please, I don’t want any trouble.”

She scoffed, “well, trouble wants you. I don’t get to decide what the beta or the alpha wants and when the beta wants something done, it will be done.”

“So what do you want to do now?” I asked her as she shrugged.

“We will start with this,” she walked to me then grabbed a cup of milk from the counter and poured it on me which soiled my hair and clothes.

I screamed wiping the milk away from my eyes as I looked at the slow nature od the mixture and noticed that the mixture was thick compared to milk.

I looked at her. “What is this? This isn’t milk.”

She shrugged. “It’s not. It’s actually glue… to make you think of your allegiance. Whether you’re going to be for this pack or you’re going to be against this pack.”

“What?!” I gasped, feeling the burn on my skin.

“I’d say yoy have around a minute to get rid of that glue on your face or you will never be able to have a pretty face like that ever again.”

I panicked.

She looked at her watch, “we’ve spent thirty seconds talking, you have less than thirty.”

In that moment, I rushed out, heading towards the tap that was at the edge of the healing compound.

When I got there, I pushed some of the older healers there, grabbing a bucket and pouring the water over my face as I washed away the glue which had started to harden.

It was getting difficult to remove them, but soon I removed most of them, leaving some in my hair, which was going to be extremely difficult to get out.

By the time I was done, I stood up, growling in anger and looking at the women who were staring at me in shock.

“Are you okay?” They asked as I shook my head.

“I’m not,” I said.

They exchanged looks before Dorian came forward.

He smiled. “That was just test number one, test number two may not be as pleasant as you think.”

I gritted my teeth while looking at him, “you will not break me.”

He held his hands up, “be careful of your accusations, Omega. You’re threading on dangerous grounds. I’ll see you later, maybe by then you would have changed your mind.”

With that as his closing speech, he turned around and walked away as a healer came to help me wash the glue off my hair.
