Chapter134 - Brian's sister

Cara pov

The moment I jumped into the battlefield to help my people who were struggling, a loud sound rang throughout the battlefield.

I stopped dead in my tracks, looking at the new arrivals from the west. And what I saw left me speechless. They were not more than twenty, but I could feel the faint connection through my fire.

“Cupbearers…, no the forbidden,” like Debby had called them. They were cupbearers that had changed faction. Julia had told me that the discovery of the cupbearers that were sent on a mission, whereas a result of the betrayal of this group of cupbearers. They were given the ne the forsaken because they had forsaken their belief and helped to kill their own people.

Everything now made sense. The mysterious would on Brian when he came back from the council. It was inflicted by the cup bearers and to think they have been working for Derek.

The moral of the west troops rose as they saw their backup. They started pushing us back with great vigor, as casualties began to rise. The forsaken were like puppets killing machines. Together in conjuction with their power, they were undefeatable. I felt uncontrolled rage overcome me.

“Traitors” I cursed at them. They were the reason for my parents' death. Because of the forsaken betrayal, they were caught in the cross fire and died on the mission.

“What do we do commander, should be retreat”. Emily came close to me and asked. I could see despair on her face.

We were losing this fight, In as much as I would want us to deal a fatal blow to the western forces, the coming of the forsaken had tipped the battle against us. Garreth, who has been like Hulk, is now being tied down by two cupbearers. They were more powerful and in their mist contained, the warriors, that are more powerful than average beta.

I felt a deep sense of danger. Without looking, I jumped away from where I was, and immediately, a blazing sword landed inches away from where I stood.

I looked up that was when I saw her. A trublood. The strongest cupbearer after the warriors. My heart pounded in my chest region.

“That's it, sound the retreat alarm, we have underestimated the western force”.

Immediately, the alarm was blown. We started retreating, but it was already too late. The cupbearers had surrounded our tract to retreat and and I felt the intangible aura before I saw it. They had casted a shield to block us from retreating.

“Stop!” I commanded, we were cornered. We had no choice but to face the incoming enemies head-on. We have fallen into a trap.

Everybody had a hardened expression as we braced ourselves for the inevitable fight to come. I closed eyes, guilt, and sadness clawing itself to my heart. I was responsible for them. Emily and Emma, with their brother, Garreth, and the other factions that had believed in me.

I had let them down.

The worst part was that there was no sign of Derek. Brian came beside me, holding my hands. “Its not your fault, Derek is a cunning bastard.”

But his words of encouragement couldn't lift the shadow that had settled in my heart. One way or the other, I was still responsible for their death.

“He is not here, I wonder where he could be?”

Brian squeezed my hand, “I might know where he is, but we first need to pass through this alive.” He said before turning to the people who had looks of reverence, despite they where standing at deaths door, they still adored Brian their alpha.

“Listen dear sons and daughters of the soil, our blood shall not spill in a foreign land, we must fight for our children grand children, and for our coming generation.” he paused, looking around, “we will fight till our last blood”.

The roar that followed was deafening. They people all had looks of resolution and confident, confident that their Alpha is back.

The true blood smiled, before raising her hand, signaling for the second fight and what will be a massacre to begin but at that moment the earth trembled, followed by an intangible aura that washed over the battlefield.

I gasped at the realization of who had interrupted.

Julia, I called her name quietly, surprise and shock coloring my face. I could not have expected her to come to our aid, and not just her, with the cup bearers gallant warriors behind her.

Relief washed through me like I was in a cold water bath.

“Reinforcement had arrived,” one of my commanders shouted, the echoe

“Go and find Derek, we will take it from here,” she said across the battlefield. I nodded, mounthing her a sincere thank you before Brian and I slipped away to look for Derek.

The shouts and snarling of wolf's shifting into their wolf's and the two side facing each other in a serious and difficult battle faded away as Brian and I made way deeper into Derek's territory

I had this bad feeling on Derek's absence, like a needle constantly pricking my side, urging me to move faster. Brian led the way. By now, he was mostly healed, and despite me being shocked by this phenomenon, I had no answer to give as to how it was possible.

I decided to ask him, “Garreth told me everything”.

He sighed, “I am sorry that you found our like this, I was planning to tell you, Cara, I swear I had wanted to tell you…”

“But you thought I would run away” I finished for him, watching his guilty expression.

He wanted to say something, but a loud shout stopped him from saying what he wanted to say. “Let's follow the sound” he urged me, we sprinted deeper into his territory following the direction the shout had come from.

It sounded like a person in trouble. I couldn’t help but wonder what Derek planned. And yes, he was Brian’s brother. So everything that Garreth had told me that night is the truth.

Brian is from the west, and not only that, even Garreth, too. And I guess Debby had also met them here. Garfeth had told me that Brian was on the run. He was banished from the pack, but what I don't know is why?.

Brian slowed down, and we came out into a grand big hall that was even more elegant than any structure I have ever seen. The ones in eatern Elloring just couldn't hold a candle to the magstice structure. It was a sight to behold, but my heart skipped a beat at who I saw at the end of the grand hall.

A tall man, ridiculously tall and muscled, just like Brian. He has black short hair and is disturbingly handsome. I didn’t need a soothsayer to know that he is the infamouse master, Derek. But that was not only what made fear come over me. He was standing on what looked like a sacrificial alter, and onto the table lay a girl in her teens. She was gagged and tired at her hands and legs.

She was the one that had shouted.

“Brother!!, what is the meaning of this?” Brian gritted his teeth in anger.

“Hahaha ha, what I wanted had been delivered to my doorstep, always predictable.” He laughed Evily.

The girl at the altar struggled harder, it seems like she wanted to say something.

“What is it, darling sister? You want to welcome our guest” Derek said, removing the gag.

Before we came here, i had had the feelings that something was wrong. And i had acted on it, but I was not prepared for what happened next when Derek removed the gag from the girl.

“Sister,” Brian exclaimed.
