Chapter 151 Chapter 151

Chapter 151 Chapter 151
Author's POV

“So my own son betrayed me and fled with your mate—only to end up getting locked up by her people?" Alpha King Armon’s voice echoed through the throne room, deep and thunderous as he spoke to Kavian’s brothers. They stood rigid before him, heads bowed in shame.
“So what am I to do now?” he continued, each word dripping like molten iron. “Should I go and rescue my rebellious son? Or should I burn both him and the city to ashes?”

Silence smothered the room until Arman suddenly fell to his knees, the sound of bone hitting wood sharp in the air. Roshan and Shirin immediately followed, kneeling beside him.

“Father,” Arman said, his voice trembling with desperation, “we will beg you to show mercy on our brother.”

Still lounging in his king-like chair, Armon stared down at them, his expression carved from stone.
“Have I not shown you boys love? Have I not given you everything a father could give to his sons?”

“Yes, Father,” they replied in unison, their voices subdued. “You have given us even more than we asked.”

“Then why,” Armon growled, rising slightly from his seat, “would your brother betray me and his pack? For the sake of a woman?”

“Kavian has a very special fondness for Rose,” Arman said carefully, choosing every word like it might trigger an explosion. “And this has caused him to act foolishly. But we promise—we will talk to him and bring him to his right senses, if you still consider him worthy to still be your son.”

Armon exhaled—slow, controlled, dangerous.
“I am not a wicked father,” he declared, and his sons dared to lift their heads. “I have forgiven him.”

“Thank you, Father,” they breathed, relief softening their faces.

Then the Alpha King rose fully, the air thickening around him with the weight of his authority.
“My son I forgive,” he said, voice cold as steel, “but those who dared to treat him like a slave and prisoner will face my full wrath.”

His gaze darkened, a promise of destruction burning in his eyes.

“Ashwood City will burn,” he continued, “and as for the girl? She will come back home with us—either as your mate… or as my prisoner.”

Rose's pov

I had been hiding in a shadowed corner, watching the way Laura interacted with the guards, and I had to confess—Laura would make a fine actress. The way she manipulated them, the way she convinced them so smoothly to do exactly what we needed… it almost startled me. When they entered the gate leading to the dungeon where Kavian was kept, I waited a few seconds before slipping in after them. They didn’t lock the gate, which made everything perfect.

Pressing myself against the cold stone wall, I watched the entire drama unfold. When they opened Kavian’s cell and stepped inside with their weapons drawn, my pulse kicked hard. I felt the urge to rush out and help him immediately, but I waited—just until Laura swung at one of them, knocking him out cleanly and leaving the others confused and wide-eyed.

“Now!” she yelled, and that was my cue.

I leapt out from my hiding place, and before the men could even react, Kavian moved—fast and lethal. He smashed two of their heads together with brutal precision and struck the last one across the face with the back of his palm. To my surprise, all three dropped unconscious.

“Well… that was quite easy,” Laura said, looking both stunned and impressed.

My eyes met Kavian’s—just for a few seconds—but everything in me rushed toward him. I ran and threw myself into his arms, hugging him tightly.

“Rosemary…” he breathed softly. There was so much in his eyes—guilt, relief, words he wanted to spill but didn’t know how. He didn’t know I wasn’t upset with him at all.

“Don’t say anything. Just kiss me,” I whispered.

He stared at me for one heartbeat… then his lips found mine, and we kissed.

“I am sorry to break this romantic blist,” Laura said, clearing her throat dramatically, “but I have to remind you that he needs to start moving. Like… now.”

She was right.

“Laura is right,” I said. “You have to go before anyone discovers this.”

“Yeah. Thank you for your help,” Kavian said to her, and she smiled at him in that mischievous Laura way.

I bent down, took the key from the unconscious guard, and we hurried out of the cell. As I locked them inside, I noticed one of the guards beginning to stir.

“Heeey…” he mumbled, stretching a hand out and trying to get up—only to flop back down.

We slipped out quickly, moving fast but careful, heading toward the exit passage.

“Do you think it’s wise returning to your father?” I asked suddenly, fear twisting in my stomach. “What if he’s still angry about you helping me? What if he hurts you?”

“That’s a risk I have to take,” he said without hesitation. “I can’t risk more people getting hurt. I can’t risk you getting hurt. And don’t worry about me—I know how to handle my father.”

His words soothed some of my fear, and we kept moving. When we finally reached a part of the building where the exit opening lay ahead, relief washed over me—we had almost made it. Kavian was moments away from freedom.

But suddenly—

My father and his warriors appeared, blocking the path.

I spun around—and more warriors filled the corridor behind us, closing off every escape.

We were trapped in the middle.

“Do you really think it would be that easy to escape me?” my father said to Kavian, his voice low and thunderous.

“Father, please…” I tried to intervene, but he cut me off sharply.

“You don’t get to speak.” His words hit like a slap. “You have disgraced me and this pack. Helping a criminal.”

“He is no criminal, Father. He is my mate,” I said, forcing the words out as respectfully as I could—but my father only laughed, sharp and scornful.

“I refuse to accept that. My daughter won’t be mate to a serial murderer and rapist. Over my dead body.”

“Father—”

“Enough!” he thundered, chopping my words short. “Go to your room. Now. Both of you.” His Alpha aura slammed into us, heavy and suffocating.

Laura staggered under it and quickly moved away.

But—

“No. I am not leaving Kavian’s side.” My voice trembled, but my resolve didn’t. My love for him pushed back against the Alpha command, and I saw my father’s eyes narrow with fury.

“You will disobey your father and Alpha?” he asked, disbelief and anger tightening every line of his face.

“I choose to do the right thing,” I replied, emotion building in my throat.

“Then you leave me no choice but to use force.” He gestured to the warriors to seize me.

“I will cut off the hands of any man who tries to touch her,” Kavian growled, his voice deep and dangerous. The men froze instantly. My father’s frown deepened.

“How dare you? Tell me—how dare you!” he barked. “You try to make it seem as if I’m the bad father who wants to hurt his own daughter? When I am only protecting her from you.”

“Have you thought about the fact that maybe she doesn’t need protection?” Kavian said steadily. “That what she needs is for you to actually listen to her and stop treating her like a child?”

My father’s anger sharpened—like a blade drawn across stone.

“Your manipulations won’t work with me,” he snarled. “I will protect what is mine—even from themselves. You will have neither my daughter nor my pack.”

“I am trying to save both of them,” Kavian replied.

But my father drew his sword—and every warrior around him followed.

“Step away from him, Rose,” he commanded. “I wouldn’t want to accidentally spill your blood.”

“I am not leaving his side.” I moved in front of Kavian, shielding him with my body.

“You would use my daughter as a shield?” my father hissed at Kavian. “Is this how you show your love?”

“It’s alright, Rosemary. You don’t have to protect me,” Kavian whispered behind me. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”

I shook my head fiercely. “I am not leaving you.”

My father and the warriors closed in, their footsteps echoing in the tight space.

“I love you,” Kavian said quietly.

“I love you too,” I whispered back.

“Please… forgive me.”

I opened my mouth—for what?—but before I could speak, he shoved me away, hard enough that I hit the ground.

And then—

My father and his men swarmed him like a pack of rabid wolves.

“No!” I screamed from the floor as my father’s sword drove straight through Kavian’s stomach.
