Chapter 58: Eager

Chapter 58: Eager
Nicholas was tucked away in bed by the time I’d gotten back to the room. We hadn’t really spoken much since Aura and Parker had left. In fact, he almost immediately hid himself away. I thought it was strange but perhaps he needed space after facing Aura. However, when I walked through that door, I could tell that something was off between us. He gazed up at me, a hesitant and almost uncertain look on his face. And at the same time, I could tell he was upset.

“Are you okay?” I asked, nearing the bed.

He opened his mouth and then closed it again, almost unable to gather up the words. And so I said, “Whatever it is, just say it the way you’re thinking it.”

My words seemed to take him back a bit and I could almost see his eyes softening.

Then, he opened his mouth again, this time saying, “You didn’t communicate with me before making the decision to get us married…”

The moment it left his mouth a sense of realisation hit me. Although I’d thought about getting married with Nicholas, I hadn’t really communicated anything with him. In fact, I hadn’t really felt the need to. Our life had turned into one dramatic event after the next and I’d become so desensitised to it. What was ironic was the fact that I’d once been upset with him for doing the same thing to me. Being in a relationship with someone else and practically speedrunning it the way we had made it difficult to adjust. But still, I couldn’t shy away from my blatant lack of communication.

I walked over to the bed, right next to him and sat down.

“I am so sorry,” I said, “I was so stupid for not considering how you would feel.”

His eyes softened further, and he reached out for me, taking my hand in his.

“I know you meant no harm… I just felt… a little blindsided. Of course I want to get married to you, so much so that I’d marry you tomorrow if I could. But I would have preferred it if we’d discussed it beforehand. Especially because…”

He hesitated and I nodded in reassurance to let him know it was okay to continue.

“I love you Ariya, but I don’t know if you really want to marry me, or if you’re doing it because you have to.”

My eyes softened immediately, and my heart almost dropped out of my chest, especially when he had that soft, sincere look in his eyes. But while I was terrified of my feelings for him, he effortlessly embraced his feelings for me. And so here I was, face to face with what I’d been trying so hard to avoid.

“I do… love you,” it came out of my mouth softly, almost timidly. Nicholas’ face immediately perked up and he moved closer towards me, his face inches away from my face and his eyes searching mine. There was an almost excited glint in his eyes.

“Say it again,” he said, his lips practically touching mine.

I gulped, intoxicated by the closeness between us.

“I love you,” I said. And with that, his lips touched mine. Immediately I moved my hands to grip at the hair at the back of his head, tugging at it gently. He gripped my legs and moved me towards him, placing me in his lap. He was hard already, and I moaned softly against his lips before I stopped myself.

“Woah woah! Your brother will kill us!” I said softly.

Nicholas shook his head, “Not if we’re nice and quiet…”

I chuckled, unconvinced, “We weren’t nice and quiet last time.”

He smiled and gave me a peck on the lips before saying, “Trust me!”

I sighed before nodding and saying, “If your brother kicks us out, you’re going straight into that weird pond!”

He nodded eagerly and we resumed kissing passionately, my hips already involuntarily moving against his. All that could be heard was hot, heavy panting as we both attempted to keep our voices low.

I gripped the back of Nicholas’ hair a little tighter and used my hand to turn his head slightly, allowing me to kiss him more deeply. The moment I did this, Nicholas grabbed me even tighter and gently lowered me on my back before shifting in between my spread legs. His hand immediately moved to grip both of mine, pinning them above my head. His other one moved to my mouth, covering it as he leaned down to kiss my neck. The feeling of warmth and wetness engulfed my skin and I could hear my muffled moan through his hand.

He then moved his lips to my ear and whispered a soft, seductive “Shh…”

I nodded and he moved his kisses down my neck, along my collar bone. His hand, once pinning mine, now moved to my shirt, working quickly to remove it before he let his tongue roam over every inch of my skin. Then, he moved his hand to cup my left breast while the right was occupied by his tongue. This was where I really struggled to hold my moans back and Nicholas clamped his hand over my mouth just a little harder to muffle out my moans.

His tongue licked at my nipple ever so softly, really allowing me to savour that soft, flicking sensation. The other hand, caressing my other nipple, felt just as insanely heavenly. His fingers pinched together as he softly twisted them, allowing the sensitive flesh to become erect. The more he touched my breasts, the wetter I became, making me crave even more from him. Eventually I started to rub my thighs together, eager for some friction. Nicholas noticed and moved the hand that was on my breast, down to my legs, placing it right between them. He moved the hand up ever so slowly, teasing me. I grew frustrated and teasingly bit at his hand which still covered my mouth. He chuckled softly before whispering, “Okay okay, I get it! You’re so damn eager!”
