Chapter 192 Chapter 192

Chapter 192 Chapter 192

(Xander's POV)

I watched the scene before me with a clenched jaw and veins straining in my neck.

It was Fiona on the same bed with a man dressed in a black robe, incredibly handsome with black veins that crawled underneath his skin.

I watched them lock lips and stare at each other lovingly. He ran his hand over her hair, placing kisses on her forehead.

“Finally, you have decided to leave him for me,” the man said and Fiona smiled, looking up at him with doe eyes. “I love you, my queen. Together, we shall defeat the light side for good.”

Fiona looked love struck. “My king, this is the best decision I've made. To be your queen.”

I was confused. Who was this man and why was he calling Fiona his queen? “Fiona, what are you doing?”

She ignored me completely. The man placed a hand on her belly through her chemise nightwear. “You will bear my children and together we shall take over the world. Just you and me. We'll be gods, we'll raise our stars above the stars of the moon goddess. We'll dominate the world.”

Fiona smiled sweetly. “I have something to tell you.”

“By all means, tell me my queen…”

“We don't have to imagine it,” she looked a bit nervous. “I'm already pregnant for you, my king.”

The smile of the man's face froze instantly as he stared oddly at Fiona, a look that resembled hatred flashing through his eyes. “What did you just say?”

“I'm pregnant for you.” she repeated, now trembling.

“What about Xander, what happens to him?” the man said. “And the horn you promised to retrieve from him?”

“I have lured him here,” Fiona said, her eyes darting. “He'll be here anytime soon. I'm sure of it.”

He pulled Fiona into his embrace, hugging her, but I could see a blade glinting beneath his coat. It was discreetly strapped, only revealed as he angled his arm. “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” Fiona said, oblivious to him.

“He doesn't love you!” I wanted to scream at the top of my voice, but for some reason, the words would not leave my throat. “He wants to kill you! He’s with a blade!”

My heart broke as I watched them make love right before my face. A single strand of tear fell from my eyes and all I wanted to do was bolt over to the man and his blade into his own heart.

I let out a loud cry as Fiona moaned loudly, but for some reason, I couldn't move, I couldn't interfere and when I tried to close my eyes, It wouldn't budge.

Suddenly, I felt the door storm open and I saw a man dressed in armour, holding up a large golden chest. He had several scars lined on his body, and a rough appearance that told of many years of battle.

“Odette!” he exclaimed.

Instantly, I watched Fiona's face transform into the face of a young brunette woman and instantly, I could tell everything that was happening. It felt like a veil had been lifted from my eyes.

I was in a trance. The man with dark veins crawling underneath his skin was The King of the Thrall. The man in battle armor was the The Guardian of Black Hollow and the woman on the bed with the shadow king was his lover.

“How could you?” The Guardian yelled angrily.

The next things that happened were so fast that I could barely process everything.

The king of the Thrall retrieved the blade and pierced into Odette's heart. Her eyes widened with disbelief as she clutched the spot that pulsed with blood.

“How could you?” she managed to mumble painstakingly as she struggled for life. Then he sank the blade into her belly, this time twisting it before he pulled it out.

The guardian who was frozen in shock seemed to have recovered because he threw the chest to the ground and ran in the direction of Odette, his hands out to catch her head before it connected with the hard marble. At the same time, the King of the Thrall was running in the direction of the chest, but it was already connecting to the ground and as the chest flew open, a large horn tumbled to the ground breaking to pieces so that the small crescent stone that was in the middle of it flew across the ground in one way and the key to the chest flew into the other direction.

“No!” The King of the Thrall screamed as he headed for the Horn, and as the guardian’s hands cushioned the fall of Odette, the hand of the King of the Thrall connected with the horn, a burst of light spread through the room and the last I heard was the screams of the shadow king.

___________

I jerked awake from the trance and was met with the Guardian’s head bent toward the ground. “I chose love over duty that night and that was when the misfortunes started.”

Goosebumps spread over my skin. “And the King of the Thrall?”

“He was bound into a realm, imprisoned forever by the gods, alongside us all,” he said. “But I had lost it all. My lover. My destiny and for years, I wallowed into despair while the King of the Thrall built his kingdom.”

The guardian continued. “Until one day, the horn gave me a chance to redeem myself, ensuring that no one unworthy ever had the chance to have access to it, but it would cost me my life.”

I listened intently. This was the part I needed the most.

“I agreed to take the Horn into the lair of the Great dragon of Vielor,” he angled his head like he was remembering a very unpleasant memory. “But first, I had to perform a spell that binded me to the Horn forever. The spell would turn my memories into a crystal that together with the key of the chest and the stone in the horn, unlocks the horn from its place.”

“I went that day dressed fully in my armour, but it never saved me from being burnt by the fiery Dragon of Vielor, but at least I had fulfilled my purpose.”

So, that was how the Horn of Vielor got its name? And the creature that was trapped in Black Hollow was The Great Dragon.

“If a dragon guards the Horn, how am I supposed to gain access to it?” I asked, growing agitated. Would I be burned too?

I watched as the Guardian retrieved a small glowing crystal. “This is my memory crystal. It has the answer to any question you will ever have.”

I grabbed the memory crystal, and placed it carefully in my pocket. “This is everything I need to retrieve the Horn?”

He nodded. “Yes and you have to hurry so that the dark side doesn't get to the Horn first.”

I was confused. “I'm the one with the three pieces that grant access to Black Hollow, so how will the dark side grant access?"

“Because the crystal is glowing,” this time, he spoke with a sense of urgency.

I arched my brow. Was that supposed to explain anything?

“If the crystal is glowing, it means that the shadow king has already found the girl,” his eyes looked into the distance. “And he has offered her a crown.”

He looked deep into my eyes. “She must never accept the crown.”

“Who?” I asked, confused. “And what correlation does this ‘she’ have with the horn.”

“If she accepts the throne, and partners with the dark side and the king of the Thrall, even the Horn of Vielor will not stop the havoc she will wreck, because the legend has it that the last woman who bore her mark destroyed everything,” he said, growing frightened. “The Last Tribrid must choose the Light side or the world suffers… eternally.”

The Last Tribrid?

“F… Fiona?” I stuttered.

He nodded. “She's the second key to the Horn of Vielor and he knows that the Eclipse of Eternity happens tonight.”

I was stunned beyond words, but he seemed to read my question.

“The Eclipse of Eternity happens when a full moon disappears behind the black eclipse,” The Guardian clarified. “and the universe becomes charged so that if the horn is blown, anything could happen.”

“This Eclipse of Eternity happens tonight?” I managed to speak.

“Yes, afterward it disappears for another century,” he handed his sword to me. “You must hurry!”
