Chapter 48 Alpha Craig

Chapter 48 Alpha Craig
“Are you sure of this?” The deep voice inquired from the comfort of the sculptured wooden Chair, sounding raw and imperative.
“I am certain, Alpha Craig.” The Elder nodded in response, struggling to catch his breath.
His golden eyes looked steadily, but the only thing he could see was the long raven hair, held partly together by a ribbon.
“She is now mated to the Lycan King.” The Elder’s voice was still slippery, his eyes glued to the wooden chair.
“Hmm,” Craig grunted, taking a deep breath.
Slowly, he stood up, revealing his towering frame.
Standing over six feet tall, he cracked his neck, his golden eyes scintillating under the effects of the sunlight, raying from the windows.
His unbuttoned robe allowed the Elder to see the scars all over his chest, some of them covered by the colored tattoos that had so many brutal meanings, signifying his age-long conquests.
Slowly, he turned, adjusting his robe as he inched closer to the Elder, grabbing the glass of liquor on the shiny table.
Craig took a sip of the alcohol, his eyes still staring at the Elder.
“I have a cousin…” He scoffed, shaking his head slowly.
The smile on his face was laced with so much mischief, showcasing all the thoughts that lingered inside his mind.
“So Russell has mated her? Huh?”
“Yes…” Boris nodded, his breath still quivering.
“Russell has changed her last name to Hamilton, Alpha Craig. She has taken charge as the Luna of Black Claw Pack.”
Craig nodded without getting rid of his smirk, gnashing his teeth as though he was trying to chew on the drink inside his mouth.
“This is the best news I have heard since I came back, Elder Boris.” He took a deep breath, his eyes still staring at Boris.
When he inched two steps closer to him, Boris took a step backward, feeling the tension that crawled into his body.
It was hard for him not to be afraid of the Alpha, terrified by his menacing appearance.
“What’s your plan?” Boris asked, his lips parting as though he was about to say something else.
He waited for as long as it was going to take for him to get a response from the Alpha, his eyes wide with curiosity.
Craig grunted, and then he moved to the table, grabbing the bottle and pouring more drink for himself.
“The plan?” He sighed, sipping from the glass until it was almost empty.
“The plan is to get close to my darling cousin, and make sure that I get her to be by my side.” Craig sniggered, nodding with a wry smile.
He smacked as soon as the glass left his lips after the last gulp that emptied his glass.
As the alcohol burned hot through his chest, so did his anger and resentment brew inside him, causing him to growl inwardly.
“Mia is the key to my conquest, Elder Boris.” He returned to his previous position, lifting his eyes toward the Elder.
“You will return to Black Claw and continue the task that I have given to you. Make sure that you get all the information regarding the war that the Lycan King is planning.”
“Of course!” Boris nodded, frantically, his eyes glittering with sheer determination.
But it wasn’t long before his expression dropped, revealing the reluctance that had crawled into his body.
“There could be a problem, Alpha Craig.” He took a deep breath, and then he cleared his throat.
“Alfred, Russell’s uncle.” He continued without waiting for the Alpha to ask.
“I think he suspects me. He has been mindful of my activities, and even asked one of the Elders to ask if everything was all right with me.”
“I see…” Craig gave a quick response, his expression plain and unreadable.
He was silent for a few seconds, but it was obvious that he had so many thoughts going through his mind.
After a while, he turned to the Elder, giving him an intense stare.
“That’s your problem, Elder Boris,” Craig said coldly looking with burning eyes.
“I am sure you still remember what is at stake if you fail to keep to your own end of the bargain.”
Boris nodded frantically, and his already throbbing heartbeat began to get more violent.
“I will do everything you want, Alpha Craig. I assure you…”
“That’s enough.” Craig cut him short, grunting in annoyance.
“I have heard that so many times from you, and I hope that you keep to your words.” He moved to the table, dropped the glass, and took a deep breath.
“You may leave. I will send for you when I need you.” His tone was dismissive just as his glare, but Boris stood still, struggling to speak.
Pretending like he didn’t know that the Elder was still there, Craig clapped his hands, turning to the door.
Five seconds later, the curtain was shifted, and someone walked in, fair and curvy.
