Chapter 59 - All Hell Breaks Loose

Third-Person Point of View

Acanthus and his pack prepared everything— from weapons to their skills and strength— before they fled their town to go to war.

Acanthus had prepared his whole pack for years and years, getting them ready to get his revenge on his mortal enemy, vampires— the Fenrir's specifically. And now he is ready.

Acanthus firmly believes that he has the upper hand upon seeing how devastated Valerian Fenrir looked earlier staring at his daughter, Natasha.

He believed that he could surely use that to win and kill Valerian Fenrir.

When Acanthus sent his daughter to the city to kill Valerian Fenrir, he was overly confident that Natasha could kill Valerian because he trained her starting from the day that Natasha learned how to walk and he's also aware of Natasha's skills and strength but Acanthus was more than disappointed when instead of killing Valerian, Natasha fell in love with him. He thought that he had already done everything for them to stop being mates.

And so he had to do something and he successfully executed his first plan. Natasha went home and is now with them, ready to kill Valerian Fenrir and his kind.

"Everyone uses their brain and don't be a fool. Vampires are nasty creatures, you should not underestimate their skills and strength," Acanthus reminded the member of his pack as they all gathered just outside the Fenrir town.

"Kill any vampire that you see," Acanthus cold-bloodedly ordered.

A group of werewolves quickly ran towards the entrance of the town and went inside.

Acanthus watched them, as Natasha was behind him.

Just a few moments after entering the town, a commotion broke off.

The quiet and peaceful town that the Fenrirs owned was disturbed with screams of terror.

"Werewolves! There are werewolves! Werewolves!"

Vampires clamored upon getting their homes disturbed.

A fight broke out between the vampires and werewolves.

A once peaceful town with vampires living was disturbed again after a couple of years-- and again, with the same individuals-- the werewolves.

"Just stay behind me," Acanthus said to his daughter, Natasha. "If you see Valerian Fenrir, kill him. Just like I said."

Natasha nodded as she smirked. "Kill him slowly and painfully."

"Precisely, my dear daughter," Acanthus whispered as a sly smile creeped out from his face.

In the middle of the night, as the full moon shone, and the werewolves turned into their form, they started tormenting vampires and their homes.

Nothing could be heard but screams.

Blood, wounded and dead werewolves, and ashes are scattered all around the place.

"On second thought, go find Valerian Fenrir and bring him to me, Natasha."

Natasha nodded at her father's order.

"Understood, father," Natasha responded emotionless and ran away, getting in between the bloody fight to find Valerian and finish her mission.

"Draven," Acanthus called.

Draven immediately ran up to him. "Alpha," he greeted as he slightly lowered down his head as a sign of respect.

"How did she take the news?" Acanthus asked.

Draven lowered his head as pain started to rise in his heart.

"She was devastated," Draven answered.

"Well, you should not be devastated as she is, shouldn't you, Draven?" Acanthus smiled slyly.

"I am not, Alpha," Draven answered.

"Very well." Acanthus patted Draven's shoulder. "Go help the pack. Kill every vampire that you see. They do not deserve to live."

"Yes, Alpha." Draven bows his head down to Acanthus before running inside the town.

As the war between vampires and werewolves goes on longer, the more vampires and werewolves are killed.

Acanthus walked towards the entrance of the town and got in.

As he takes the path in the middle of the town he can see werewolves-- his kind, laying on the cold floor, wounded and some are already dead, but it did not bother Acanthus, not even a bit. He cared more about the number of piled ashes on the floor that he even bothered to count them. He was delighted. Despite the numerous deaths from his packs, he was happy to see vampires getting killed and he will be more than happy to finally see Valerian Fenrir being killed by Natasha.

As Acanthus walked further the depth of the town, he saw Natasha trying to fight Valerian, and Valerian tried his hardest not to hit Natasha or hurt her in any way.

Acanthus smirked at the sight of Valerian struggling.

He longed for a moment like this.

"Natasha!" Acanthus called Natasha and as if on cue, Natasha stopped trying to attack Valerian and walked up to her father.

"Hello, there Valerian Fenrir," Acanthus smiled slyly. "Are you the only Fenrir left yet?" Acanthus laughed as he mocked Valerian.

Valerian balled his fist. "You fucking demon."

Acanthus laughed loudly. "Oh wait, you're not the only Fenrir left, there's still your sister-- oh wait, right--- she's dead."

Valerian gritted his teeth as his eyes turned to bloody red and his fangs shined brightly in the darkness.

The anger in his heart is overflowing. Anger for what Acanthus did to Natasha and his sister, and anger for what Acanthus did to their town-- just like what he did years ago.

Valerian wanted nothing but to kill Acanthus.

"Well, I've got to say, this place has changed so much from the last time that I was here-- ooh, I remember that night way too well. It's so hard to be forgotten." Acanthus smirked at Valerian because he knew that he hit a nerve and was about to hit another again. "How can I forget that night when it was the night that I killed your parents."

In a blow of the wind, Valerian was already in front of Acanthus, tightly gripping his neck.

"N-N-Natasha. . ." Acanthus struggled to breathe and called Natasha.

Natasha immediately hit Valerian causing him to let go of Acanthus' neck.

Valerian gritted his teeth as he thought of how strong Natasha suddenly had become.

Valerian knew he would not be going to be able to defeat Acanthus if he would not use his brain. Acanthus is using something-- manipulation-- and so Valerian thought that he has to use something too.

"I remember that night too," Valerian said as a sly smile crept on his face. "That was also the night when I killed your son."

Acanthus roared at Valerian and tightly gritted his teeth-- saliva dripping out from his mouth. "You fucking devil."

"An eye for an eye, Acanthus," Valerian firmly said.

"You think you were able to take revenge when you killed my son?! Did you even know what I did after that?" Acanthus laughed. "I stole that newborn baby! And no, she is not an ordinary newborn baby from a vampire couple, she was your mate, Valerian. That's right, I know she was your mate right from the beginning and she is standing here in front of you right now wanting to kill you!"

Valerian's nails dug into his palms. He was more than devastated upon learning that his mate had already existed all along, she was just taken and deprived of the life she truly deserved-- she didn't even get to be with her parents or even meet them because, in Valerian's memory, he remembers that Acanthus killed the couple too-- he killed Natasha's parents.

Valerian looked at Natasha standing behind Acanthus with nothing in her eyes-- like she was not the Natasha that he knew-- Natasha was full of emotions.

Valerian did not waste any more time, he quickly ran to Acanthus using his super speed and attacked him. "You fucking demon, you deserve no mercy!"

Acanthus turned to his werewolf form and managed to push Valerian away from him. "You Fenrirs had everything, you had every wealth in this world even from the other generation, you are just fucking rich and you don't deserve it!" Acanthus tried to hit Valerian with his claws but Valerian was quick to dodge..

"Your greediness has brought nothing but pain, Acanthus!" Valerian said as he gritted his long sharp fangs.

"I don't care! I'm going to have my revenge and everything you have; power and all, and you will going to wish you didn't live your pathetic vampire life." Acanthus hissed. "Let's see how would you feel if your so-called mate killed you."

"Stop fucking controlling Natasha!" Valerian's voice thundered.

Acanthus chuckled slyly. "Oh, so you knew?"

"Fucking stop it." Valerian glared at Acanthus. "Or I will fucking beat you into a pulp."

"No matter what you say, vampire. Natasha doesn't know. She doesn't know you as long as I control her mind, she doesn't know anything." Acanthus laughed. "Hell! She doesn't even know that she is a vampire! She doesn't know that I stole her from her parents! She doesn't know that we turned her into a werewolf using magic and she is so foolish to not realize that she didn't fully turn into a werewolf and she still possessed some vampire skills. I taught her to hate you and sent her to kill you because the only thing that could satisfy me is knowing that your own mate killed you and that you two were turning your backs on each other and trying to kill each other."

"You're such a fool, Acanthus for thinking my mate could kill me. Natasha loves me," Valerian spits the words like as if trying to mark them inside Acanthus' mind.

"Bullshit!" Acanthus turned into his werewolf form again and attacked Valerian.

Valerian dodged and attacked back.

"Natasha, help me kill Valerian!" Acanthus yelled at Natasha, and as if on cue, Natasha quickly helped Acanthus to fight Valerian.

Fighting Acanthus was no problem to Valerian at all because he is a highly skilled vampire but now that Natasha entered the fight, it became hard for Valerian because he didn't want to hit Natasha accidentally or hurt her.

All Valerian did was, hit Acanthus and dodged Natasha's attack as much as he could.

With one big blow of punch to Acanthus, Valerian was able to knock him down.

The werewolf-formed Acanthus lay down on the cold dark floor as he whimpered.

Valerian took the opportunity and ran towards Acanthus. Valerian pulled out a dagger and stabbed Acanthus.

As Acanthus suffered from the pain, he went back to his human form.

"You can never defeat me, Acanthus," Valerian whispered.

On the other hand, upon seeing Acanthus lying on the floor, Natasha quickly tried to attack Valerian and obey the order of her father to kill Valerian, but Valerian was quick and was able to stop Natasha by holding both of her arms.

Natasha tried to break free from Valerian's grasp but Valerian used all of his strength to restrain Natasha.

Valerian wasn't hit even one bit even though Acanthus turned to his werewolf form and attacked him. Valerian is way beyond Acanthus in so many ways and forms. Acanthus knows that he can never defeat Valerian, so he used a different strategy to have Valerian killed; making his own mate turn against him, but Acanthus sees how Valerian knows that he controls Natasha and how Valerian tried his hardest to not inflict any pain to Natasha, he knows that he fails miserably.

Valerian choked Acanthus with one hand while his other hand was still holding Natasha down, restraining her from moving.

As Acanthus struggled to breathe because of how Valerian tightly choked him, a sharp voice broke out in the middle of their fight.

"Acanthus!" Acanthus' wife screamed.

Valerian did not waste any more time, he let go of Acanthus' neck and quickly ran to his wife.

Valerian immediately grabbed Acanthus's wife's neck and choked her, making sure that Acanthus saw it from where he was lying, wounded and struggling to breathe.

Valerian choked her so hard that she only lasted a few seconds before she was dead.

Valerian let go of Acanthus' wife and a thud was heard upon when she fell on the floor, lifeless.

"No!!!" Acanthus' scream thundered in the whole place.

Valerian ran back to where Acanthus was and choked him again.

Because of what he just witnessed, Acanthus had no more strength left in him and he could not fight Valerian anymore.

"That was for Elyse," Valerian whispered to Acanthus. "And this. . ." Valerian's grip tightened around Acanthus' neck, he quickly struggled to breathe and tears started streaming down his already bulging eyes. "This is for what you did to Natasha-- for separating us from each other. This is for everything that you did."

Valerian choked Acanthus tightly that even him was shaking from so much anger that he felt inside his heart.

Acanthus struggled to breathe before he eventually started trembling uncontrollably and stopped breathing.

As Valerian let go of Acanthus and he thudded on the floor, he noticed that Natasha finally stopped trying to break free from his grasp.

Valerian turned to see Natasha and saw that Natasha was blankly staring at Acanthus' lifeless body. Natasha looked like as if she had just awakened from a dream.

"W-w-what's happening?" Natasha cried out.

She looked at Valerian with eyes full of questions until her gaze fell to her hands that were tightly gripped by Valerian.

"V-V-Valerian. . ." Natasha sobbed. "What are you doing?"

Valerian quickly let go of Natasha. "I'm so sorry, are you hurt?"

Natasha fell on her knees in front of Acanthus.

"What did you do, Valerian? Did you. . . did you kill my father?"

"He's not your father," Valerian said coldly.

"What?! What the hell are you talking about?! What is this?!" Natasha started to freak out, especially after remembering something. "Sayna. . . you killed Sayna, Valerian." Natasha looked at Valerian with so much anger and despise, and that gave Valerian so much pain.

"You killed Sayna!" Natasha stood up and started hitting Valerian on his chest.

"You killed my best friend and you killed my father!" Natasha was hyperventilating, crying so much, and hitting Valerian on the chest non-stop.

Valerian, on the other hand, did not do anything. He just let Natasha do anything she wanted in hopes of helping her ease the pain that she was feeling.

Natasha didn't have any intention to stop and she only stopped when someone called her name.

Natasha brought her hands down from hitting Valerian. "Draven," he called Draven with so many tears streaming down her face.

"Natasha, I'm so sorry!" Draven cried out.

Natasha looked at Draven with so much confusion. "What? Why are you saying sorry?"

"I'm so sorry Natasha, I thought it was going to be fine but it didn't turn out anything close to fine." Draven was crying nonstop as he apologized to Natasha nonstop. "I thought I would finally have you after I did everything Alpha wants but I was wrong--- so wrong."

"What? Natasha could only mutter.

"I killed Sayna," Draven cried out. "I followed Alpha's order and killed Sayna because he told me that I would have you if I do everything that he wanted. I killed Sayna, Natasha. I was a fool. I didn't know how wrong it was. I was blinded by my love for you. I'm so sorry Natasha."

Natasha could only cry upon hearing her friend's confession.

In a snap, she lost two friends that are dear to her.

"I killed Sayna, I killed Sayna, I killed Sayna," Draven repeatedly whispered to himself.

"I killed Sayna," Draven whispered nonstop before stabbing himself with a silver dagger.

"No!!!" Natasha screamed at the top of her lungs upon seeing what her friend had just done.

"I killed Sayna." Was his Draven's last words before he stopped breathing.
