Chapter 35 35

Chapter 35 35
Chapter 35 – Plotting

“Kazzi! Moyi sladkiy!” A familiar short woman shrieked in excitement and elbowed past her mate and eldest son.
“Mama,” Kazimir said softly as his mother hurried down the stairs to him.
Katya Volkov was a tiny little thing and had managed to birth five strong Alpha sons. Her light brown hair had been braided back and she pressed her face into Kazimir’s chest. He bent down to kiss the top of her head. While she would still try to spank any of them if they misbehaved in her presence, she was unable to keep her mate in line. When Alpha Volkov had sent Kazimir away to school in another country, he forbid her from having any contact with him.
Kronos peeped his head out of the tote Kazimir was holding. “I see you still have the koshka,” Alpha Volkov’s deep voice echoed.
“Kot, not koshka,” Kazimir corrected him, still believing a male cat was more masculine than a female.
“All these years and still no mate. Well, Katya, at least he brought you home a pussycat,” he said condescendingly.
Kazimir and I exchanged curious glances. Did his father not know about Alina? Or was he baiting us?
“I’ve come to speak with Aleksei.”
“You forget, I am still the Alpha and the Pahkan.”
“And here I thought you were my father first,” Kazimir replied sardonically.

“You will be staying for dinner, won’t you?” Katya asked with pleading eyes.
“Of course he will, we have some matters to discuss in my office first,” Alpha Volkov said.
“Would you like me to take the cat? I can let him out in the garden. The walls are twenty feet tall, and he won’t be able to get out,” Katya offered and Kazimir handed the tote to his mother.
We entered the office and Aleksei introduced himself to the others. He had already heard Alec was Dimitri’s Gamma but was surprised to learn Dimitri’s sister was my mate. Aleksei was thrilled to discover I had a sister and when he noticed she was unmarked, he wanted to summon his unmated males to see if Giota was possibly a mate to any of them.
“My sister has recently found her true mate who is my Gamma. They have yet to complete the claiming.” I suppressed a chuckle over his enthusiasm to establish closer pack ties. I sat on the leather sofa next to Giota and pulled Odessa sideways on my lap. I could see a hint of longing in Kazimir’s eyes, missing his mate, but he quickly schooled his features. He didn’t trust his father and neither did I.
“You have taken your father’s pack?” Alpha Volkov asked, sinking into a leather chair across from us.
“I have.”
“And the mafia business in Greece?” He inquired and somehow I wasn’t surprised. The Russian Bratva had a long reach into other countries, and a mutually beneficial idea occurred to me.
“It’s all yours if you help us,” I offered. “I’ll even give you the brothels.” The reality was, that mafia dealings would continue and someone would eventually grow into a position of power as the boss. Neither Dimitri nor I were interested in organized crime in the human world, but if someone was going to do it, I’d rather it be the devil we know.

“Help you with what exactly?” He asked. “What is your business with Belsky?”
“Funny, I was wondering the same about you,” he eyed me suspiciously. It was obvious the Alpha was guarded, but I couldn’t tell how much he knew. There was a chance that Aleksei may have told him about our search for the flight logs and the abduction of a woman and child.
“The last time we were in Moscow, a hired thief broke into our hotel room and stole from us. Shortly after that, our villa was set on fire, and Belsky sent men to abduct two of my pack members.”
“How did the human thief become part of your pack?” He asked.
“You know about her?” I tensed. Both Aleksei and his father sat in silence, their eyes glazed over, mind linking. Haze was snarling and the only thing that kept me seated was my mate on my lap.
“Something exciting you want to share with us?” Kazimir asked. “Did you plant the bomb in our hotel?” Giota accused.
“No,” Aleksei was quick to deny.
“It was Belsky’s man who came into the banya, looking for you three.” Alpha Volkov studied us for a moment, trying to read us. “One of my cyber operatives was murdered. His entire team was found floating in the river, except for two. One I have captured, who claims he was hiding under the stairs when Belsky’s men came for the others.”
“And the second?” Kazimir asked.
“A woman who never returned from a job she performed a few weeks ago.”
“If Yuri worked for you… then you’re the one who sent the thief,” Odessa said.

“Yuri did some side work for others, that’s how he collected valuable information for me.”
The puzzle pieces seemed to fall together now. Alpha Volkov was the one who was blackmailing the politicians, including Belsky. There had been one survivor under the stairs, and he was the one who delivered the journal to us, though I’m still not sure why it was addressed to me. Alpha Volkov was looking for the journal to secure his control over politicians. Belsky was trying to eliminate all traces, which means he planned to kill Alina.
“Alina is Yuri’s niece. She knows where Yuri stashed the backup information you’re looking to secure. Belsky has her and a pup from my pack. We need to get them out alive and I will see to it that you have Alina’s full cooperation,” I said.
“And, if she refuses?” Volkov looked intrigued.
“She won’t. I’m her Alpha, I’ll give her the Alpha order. You have my word.” I wasn’t going to tell him she was Kazimir’s mate or the thing he was looking for was conveniently tucked in the back waistband of Alec’s pants.
“She’s human,” Aleksei said.
“She turned eighteen the week after we took her. Her mother was a she- wolf, and her father was Yuri’s brother.
“We have until midnight before Belsky kills her,” Kazimir nearly growled.
“What does he want in exchange for the two?” Aleksei asked.
“I’m supposed to fight for a continuous hour tonight for the pup. He wants to keep me busy while locked in a cage, maybe hoping someone will finally kill me,” I replied.
“And Kazimir?” Alpha Volkov asked.
“You,” Kazimir said. “He wants me to bring him your head.”

Alpha Volkov laughed, his eyes traveled back and forth between mine and Kazimir’s. Maybe he thought Kazimir didn’t stand a chance against him because Kazimir wasn’t a first born Alpha, but I was, and I would kill him if I needed to.
Alpha Volkov made a few phone calls and discovered an unusual amount of prisoners would be in transfer tonight. This also means they would disappear. The death fights often included prisoners who were given the opportunity to fight for freedom. Someone in a prominent position of power allowed this to happen with the right bribe.
“Corrupt, every last one of them,” Haze huffed, and I could feel his bloodlust growing.
“We still don’t know where he’s keeping them,” Alec reminded us.
Kazimir paced the room. “Belsky showed us a video of them. The room was like a cell, with no windows, cement floors, and gray cinder block walls.”
“A bunker,” Aleksei added.
Alpha Volkov explained that Belsky lived in a big mansion outside of Moscow. Though he likely had a bunker below, as would any corrupt Russian politician, he didn’t believe Belsky would keep them there because of his family. We considered all of his properties and narrowed it down to the vodka distillery or a canning warehouse his brother owned.
“What about the fight arena?” I asked.
“Dratsya Ring is owned by an oligarch who sells golden toilets to the rich,” Aleksei said.
“At least he’s not selling golden showers,” Alec choked back a laugh. “Are you by any chance blackmailing the oligarch?” Giota asked.
“Dah!” Alpha Volkov nodded, sounding just like Kazimir. “Boris enjoys the company of male prostitutes, and we have some interesting videos. The

arena used to be an old shoe factory, it will also have bunkers underground where the training gym is.”
“So we’re looking at the distillery, the warehouse, and the arena. I’ll send our trackers to do some scouting,” Aleksei turned his attention to his phone.
We continued to discuss our plans. The extraction for both would need to happen at the same time. Thea would be with Belsky all evening. If he catches word that Alina was rescued first, he could hurt Thea. If we assassinate Belsky on sight and take Thea too soon, someone else could kill Alina.
“The only problem we’re going to have is getting into the area to see what’s below the arena,” Aleksei said.
“No one goes down there except the fighters, janitors, and prostitutes,” Kazimir said.
“If she’s down there, there’s no way they will let Hades near. That would be a good indicator. You can get there early, before your fight, and say you want to warm up,” Alpha Volkov suggested.
“Who supplies the prostitutes?” Giota asked. “They’re our working girls,” Aleksei said.
“Are they always the same?” I didn’t like where Giota was going with this.
“Not always.”
“NO!” I growled.
“They’re human, Hades. If anyone so much as try’s anything, I’ll shift a claw and castrate him.”
“I’ll go with her,” Odessa offered.

“It might be best if you stay close to the gatekeeper. He will have the key to unlock the cage with him. Once Hades is inside, he’s no longer a threat to Belsky or his men. They will be leery of men, but a beautiful woman is another thing…”
“MINE!” Haze pushed to the surface and snarled. My grip around Odessa tightened and there was no way in hell I was going to let her pretend to be a whore or dress like one.
“This is ridiculous, I’ve been training since I was a pup. If there’s one thing I can do, it’s gut a human,” Odessa snapped.
“Nothing will happen to her, we’ll have our men in the crowd to protect her,” Alpha Volkov told us. “If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one. It’s an old saying in Russian. If he keeps Hades busy, Kazimir can’t save both the woman and the girl. He’s not planning on giving you both.”
“Then we’ll take them by force!” Giota growled.
We spent the next hour going over our plans. Aleksei will be taking a team to raid the distillery and Alpha Volkov would send his Chief warrior with a team to the canning warehouse. Alec was going to be in disguise and attend the fights with other pack warriors.
“I’ll have all the girls wear costumes tonight, so the unfamiliar faces won’t be too obvious,” Aleksei told us. “I’ve also had fresh clothes delivered if you want to get some rest before dinner or shower.”
Katya was in the kitchen with the cooks making Kazimir’s favorites for dinner. We left the girls with her while I stepped out into the garden to check on Kronos with Kazimir and Alec. A bowl of food and water had been set out for him, but he was busy curled tight on a chair snoozing away.
“You didn’t tell the Alpha about the journal,” Alec whispered.
“I think they’re both looking for it. If we had given it to Kazimir’s father, he may have not been as eager to help us recover Alina. If Alina isn’t

at any of the locations, the journal is our backup plan. Kazimir can call Belsky before midnight and offer to exchange it for her.”
“Do I bring it to the arena with me?” Alec asked.
“No. I’ll need to arrive in a taxi, so it doesn’t look like I’m up to something. I can hide it under Kronos’ towels in the tote and ask Anatoly to cat sit him tonight while he waits for me.”
“And we’re not saying anything about Kazimir’s mate?”
“It remains our secret,” Kazimir said in a low voice. “My father is ruthless, he’s only playing nice because there’s something he wants from Alina as well. Once we safely have her, he can have the journal for all I care.”
Kazimir called Anatoly and asked him to get some rest before this evening. Haze was still grumbling about Odessa being anywhere near the fight arena, but he also couldn’t stand the thought of having her out of our sight. The way he was feeling, Belsky better have two buses full of degenerates for me to tear apart.
Kazimir led us to the guest wing, then returned downstairs to spend some time with his mother. Giota wanted to call Ninos back and take a nap, so I gave her my phone. Alec planned to snap some photos of the journal and take a shower. Odessa wanted to take a hot shower and Haze was burning with a possessive need to mount our mate.
We stepped inside our room and Odessa moved to the bathroom to turn on the shower. I watched as she slowly removed her clothing, pretending she didn’t know I was watching. She pulled her jeans down with her panties and wiggled out of them with her ass to me. Teasing me. It took two quick strides for me to reach her and deliver an open palm spank to her ass.
She yelped in shock and spun around, exposing her hardened nipples to me. I lowered my head and sucked one in my mouth when a soft knock came from our bedroom door. I stepped back and tried to adjust my half swollen cock and Odessa let out a giggle.

I could sense Giota in the hall and pulled the door open. She held the phone out, “Ninos needs to speak with you.”
“Ninos?” I answered.
“The construction crew was working on the flooring in the Alpha Office. The flooring you thought was warped was just a secret door leading to an underground shelter.”
“What is it with underground bomb shelters today?” I groaned. “What was that?” Ninos asked.
“Nothing. Never mind. Please don’t tell me you found his sex dungeon.”
“No, but we did find a large safe. Actually, it’s more like a large walk-in vault. I suppose it could be his sex dungeon, but the air circulation isn’t so good down there. Unless he had an asphyxiation kink?” Ninos chuckled.
“Ask the contractor if he knows someone with a laser or plasma cutter, I’m sure it will take a few hours.” I handed the phone back to my sist
