kill them

Eliza’s POV

My blood boiled at the sight, infusing me with a raw, uncontained rage that eclipsed everything else.

“THERON!” I howled, my voice filled with desperation and fury. It shattered the air around us, reverberating with primal energy.

As if my scream had triggered something, I charged forward, a blur of fur and fangs, desperation propelling me.

The world narrowed to that intense moment, each heartbeat a drum calling me to action. I could feel Jasmine stirring again, the need to protect a power surging through us, binding us in our shared purpose.

In an instant, I leapt, agile and relentless, my claws outstretched. The black wolf turned its attention to me, its glowing eyes narrowing. But it was too late—I collided with it, knocking it off Theron. The force of my assault sent the beast sprawling back into the shattered glass, sparks of fury igniting from my body as I fought to assert my dominance.

“Get up!” I shouted at Theron, my voice fiercely determined. Momentarily stunned, the wolf shook its head and scrambled to rise.

I turned back to the beast, whose red eyes blazed with rage. It sprang to its feet, charging back at me. We clashed with a resounding impact, the sound echoing off the storefront's walls, a cacophony of growls and snarls filling the air around us.

As we tangled again, I could feel the wolf’s power surging through its muscles; it was strong, but I had desperation. I twisted, using all my weight to drive it to the ground, but it countered by snapping its powerful jaws toward me.

“No!” I roared, dodging just in time, feeling the rush of wind as its teeth grazed past me. I prepared to thrust forward again, but not alone—Theron was on his feet, his canines glinting in the low light.

He leapt toward the wolf, slashing at it with fierce precision. Surprised by Theron’s tenacity, the enhanced wolf snarled, its attention momentarily diverted. This was our opportunity.

“Now!” I growled at Theron. Acting in unison, we attacked the wolf as a coordinated force. In one fluid motion, I launched myself onto its back, fangs bared, while Theron aimed for its throat with his bare teeth. The wolf howled in pain, but I clamped down harder, putting all my strength into subduing it.

Blood poured from the wound, but I couldn't afford to let go. The taste of victory filled my mouth, but I was still acutely aware of the danger around us. Yelda's laughter echoed in the background, mocking as if our struggles were merely entertainment for her.

“Fools! Do you think you can escape me?” she was furious.

I could feel the wolf beneath me thrash, its strength mounting as it struggled to shake me off. I squeezed harder, my teeth sinking deeper, determined not to let go.

With one final howl of desperation, the black wolf threw me off, sending me crashing against the ruins of the storefront. I rolled to my feet, shaking my head to clear my vision to see Theron’s strike at the wolf. The wolf staggered back, a growl of agony escaping its lips as it collapsed onto the ground, unmoving.

Shifting back to human form, I glared at Yelda and refused to let her think momentarily that I was afraid of her. Jasmine did not like being thrown to the back but ignored her whining for a moment.

Then came a loud growl that echoed around us, causing me to gasp.

“What the heck was that?” I mumbled.

A second wolf emerged from the shadows, its eyes glowing crimson, even more massive than the last. All the breath fled from my body. Yelda had promised champions, and it seemed she intended to deliver them all. I wasn't going to break.

“Give it up, Yelda. How many more do you want me to kill?” I snarled.

“Impressive,” Yelda taunted, stepping forward with a confident stride. "But you won't survive my entire pack. That was merely a taste of what I can unleash."

“No,” I said firmly, forcing my voice to stay steady even as my heart raced. “This ends now. I will find my mates and destroy you!”

With Jasmine roaring in agreement, I felt the power surge within me again, every fibre of my being igniting with the urge to fight, to protect. The world around me faded as I focused entirely on Yelda and the monstrous wolf looming behind her.

“Then let the real game begin,” Yelda challenged, her eyes narrowing. “I want to see how far you’ll go to save them.”

“Oh? Yelda, do you forget that I am the white wolf? I know I will find them. And trust me, if you have even hurt a hair on anyone of their heads, I will be the one to destroy your sorry arse.” I growled, causing a flicker of uncertainty to flash across her face, which was quickly replaced by a smirk. She waved her hand, dismissing my words as if she were above me.

“You are a sick twisted bitch; you were supposed to help and be useful to Princess Eliza.” Theron spat. His eyes were dark, and I knew his alpha wolf wanted to unleash again. Yelda let out a chuckle. “You are nothing against me, even with your pathetic alpha side. I am a powerful woman, and you are merely nothing, both of you.” she continued to scream.

“Is that so? Then why are you holding this pack captive and the quadruplets? You're holding them away from the princess in fear. You're afraid their love and power will outdo you.” Theron’s words threw me, but he was right.

Yelda's laughter danced through the air, taunting and cold. "Fear? Hardly. I merely find it amusing to watch you squirm. Your precious mates are nothing more than pawns in my game. The longer they're away from you, the clearer it becomes how weak you truly are."

I could feel the fury rising within me again, a tempest brewing on the edges of my control. Jasmine thrummed with energy, her instincts screaming for battle. I stepped forward, channelling every ounce of my anger into determination.

"You've underestimated us," I said, my voice steady despite the wildfire in my chest. "If you think you can keep them from me forever, you're wrong. We have something you can never take from us—our bond."

Yelda's smirk faltered for the briefest moment. It was enough to see, to recognise the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. She clutched her hands, her features hardening. “Bond? That won’t save them from my plans. You’ve demonstrated yourself to be quite the threat, Princess, but all the heart in the world can’t overcome power.”

As if to emphasise her point, the new wolf behind her stepped forward, and its presence darkened the space between us. Far more imposing than the last, it was a towering mass of malice and muscle, rage simmering beneath the surface. I could sense its lethal intent, a predator who thrived on a hunt.

“Enough of this!” Yelda snapped, her voice a whip-crack in the tension-laden air. “Kill them! Show them that they have no place in my world!”
