Chapter 63
Deak smirked as he heard his uncle’s yell echo through the large mansion. Those dumb fools he called his guards were nothing but idiots. He still couldn’t believe they were able to get away so easily and jump the guards that were watching them. But now he needed a plan. A way for them to get out of there before small girl’s mate came looking for her.
“Deak, what are we going to do?” Amanda asked him.
He could hear her heart racing; he knew she was scared. He wanted to keep the promise he made to her mate that he would protect her with his life and hoped to make it out alive as well.
“We need to find a way to leave before your mate comes here,” he told her.
Amanda felt a strong shiver run through her body, stronger than she ever felt before. The tingles started next. “Uh…Deak?”
He turned to look at her.
“I think he’s already here.”
Hudson jumped out of the car before it could come to a stop and started running toward the front entrance of the mansion. Hudson only had one thing on his mind and that was to find his mate and bring her home. He growled as his wolf was brimming at the surface, waiting to take over. He wanted to kill all the Lycans for taking their mate away from them. Hudson’s nails grew as he started to fight off some of the guards that were blocking the front entrance. They both dropped dead to the ground.
Hudson walked past them as if they were nothing and continued to make his way toward his mate.
After the car stopped. Ruby jumped out and started to follow Hudson. Before she got past the car, she was pulled back and thrown behind some bushes. Her eyes glowed with anger when she stared at Zachary.
“What are you doing?” she growled at him.
“Saving your life,” he told her.
“Hudson needs my help.”
“Ruby, I’m sure he appreciates the passion but when was the last time you engaged in a wolf fight?”
She wanted to give him a retort but there was nothing she could say in her defense.
“So instead of just running in there by force, we need to come up with a plan that is smart and hopefully won’t get us all killed in the process.”
Ruby huffed as she crossed her arms but nodded in agreement.
“Lucky for us I brought this,” Vita said, opening a bag that she had pulled out of the car. She showed them all the different potions and weapons that she had packed.
“This is what I’m talking about. Good job, Vita.” Zachary said as he took a set of daggers.
Vita also handed Ruby a crossbow.“Do you know how one of these works?”
“I’m a quick learner. Vita, you are definitely a girl I like to have around.”
Vita blushed at the compliment. It felt good that she was useful and able to help others. She wasn’t there to help her family, at least she was there for them. Plus, she liked Amanda and wanted to help get her back.
“I’ve also got smoke bombs, freezing potions, sleeping potions, and a few more fun potions as well.”
“Alright, now let’s go rescue our friends.”
Hudson stormed through the house, tearing through anyone who got in his way. He entered a large room with a throne facing the front of the room. Amanda was here, he smelled. He just wished that he could sense her more. He was still conflicted about whether or not he could believe that she was a hybrid. It didn’t change the way he felt about her, he loved her, and he needed to tell her just in case…
Amanda was whining and freaking out that Hudson was there, she didn’t want him to risk his life for her.
“Deak, we need to get to Hudson before…” She was getting too worked up and couldn’t get her thoughts out straight. She had never felt this way before. Something inside her was whining for their mate. She needed to see and touch Hudson so that she knew that he was okay.
Deak peaked out from the room they had been hiding in. He saw the guards rush in another direction.
“We need to leave now,” Deak told her.
Amanda shook her head and growled. She cupped her mouth in surprise. Did she just growl?
Deak smirked at her surprised reaction. “It’s okay, small girl. You are showing you are protective of your mate.”
“Deak, something is happening. I’ve never felt this way before.”
They froze when they suddenly heard Deak’s Uncle Fabian call out to Amanda.
“Oh, Amanda, your mate’s here to rescue you. It’s time for you to show yourself.” He yelled throughout the mansion.
Amanda started to breathe heavily and started to shake violently.
“Small girl, please.” Deak tried to calm her down, but it was no use.
The door burst open and the guards surrounded them. Tibor walked in with Andras right behind him.
“Tsk, tsk. The king is very displeased by your disrespect for his hospitality,” Tibor told them.
Andras came in and started beating on Deak.
“Stop, stop, stop it now!” Amanda screamed and a burst of wind blasted through her and pushed everyone away from her and Deak.
“We need to get her to the king quickly. Her magic is growing and out of control!” Tibor ordered.
It took four guards to carry Amanda out of the room as she continued to fight her way out of their hold.
Andras walked up to Deak and pulled out a pair of silver knuckles and started to punch Deak, leaving scorch marks in a path where he had hit him.
Tibor and Andras dragged Deak into the room where everyone was waiting behind Amanda.
Amanda could sense Hudson was close, but they had blindfolded her, thinking that would keep her from being able to use her power. She could smell blood, there was a fight going on and someone was losing a lot of blood. Amanda continued to take in the different smells. This was all new to her, but with the blindfold on she just assumed her other senses were heightened at the moment.
“Ah, Amanda, it looks like you finally joined us. Come, take off her blindfold I’m sure she will be happy to see who’s here for her.”
Kimmy took off the blindfold and slapped Amanda. When she turned her head back around, her eyes adjusted and focused on the man in the middle of the room.
His breathing was labored, and his clothes were torn and covered in blood.
“Hudson, no please…” she said as she watched her mate try to get back up from the floor.
“Amanda, Amanda I ..I love you,” he breathed out before he collapsed and didn’t move.
Kimmy laughed in Amanda’s ear and said, “Looks like your mate is dead. Boo-hoo.”
