Chapter 20

Logan's POV

"Not even if I told you I know what you’re up to with Violet?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "How you’ve been making plans behind the scenes, setting things up for her to fall into your trap? You think I wouldn’t find out?"

Aaron’s expression darkened, his fists clenching at his sides. "You don’t know anything."

"I know enough," I said, my voice low but carrying the weight of truth. "You think you can play me, Aaron. You think you can break me. But I’m telling you right now—if you touch Violet, you’ll regret it. I’ll burn this whole place to the ground, and I’ll make sure you’re standing in the ashes when it happens."

For a brief moment, silence reigned. The guards stood still, watching us, but no one dared to speak.

Then Aaron finally spoke, his voice quieter now, as if calculating his next move. "You’re not the only one with power, Logan. And I don’t think you realize how much you’re risking by being here. You should leave while you still have the chance."

I shook my head slowly. "I’m not leaving without Violet."

There was a pause. A dangerous one. Then Aaron exhaled sharply, his shoulders dropping in something akin to defeat. "Fine," he muttered. "Come inside. I’ll give you a chance to speak with her. But remember this, Logan: the next time you step foot on my land, it won’t be a friendly visit."

Without another word, Aaron turned and walked back into the building. The guards reluctantly stepped aside as I followed. My heart raced with anticipation.

But I had what I came for. A chance to speak to Violet. And that’s all I needed.

Now, it was time to make sure she was safe. And this time, I wasn’t going to let anyone—not even Alpha Aaron—get in my way.

“Why do you care about her now that she seems too connected to your brother?” I ignored the question, walking to the couch opposite his designed personalized couch.

“How does it relate to what I was discussing?”

“It relates so well, your brother xaden had rejected her before, what do you want from her?” My eyes popped out of its socket as he mentioned the fact that xaden has rejected her before, I wasn't aware of it until now. My fist clenched as I stared at him.

The words hung in the air like a foul stench. My brother, Xaden—my Alpha, my blood—had rejected Violet? I felt my chest tighten, a rush of heat flooding my face. For a moment, I couldn’t process it. I couldn’t even breathe.

My eyes burned into Aaron, sharp as a blade, demanding an answer. "When did my brother reject her?" My voice came out hoarse, like the very air around me had thickened with disbelief.

Aaron smirked, leaning back in his chair, clearly enjoying my reaction. He looked almost... amused. "At the last mating ceremony," he said, as though he were casually discussing the weather.

"In front of everyone, too. Your brother decided that Violet wasn’t worthy of his claim. Humiliated her right in front of the pack."

The words hit me like a physical blow. In front of everyone? Humiliated her? The anger that had been simmering in my chest for so long now erupted like a wildfire, burning through every inch of my being.

My brother had done that. To her.

My fists clenched tighter, the veins in my arms standing out with the force of my grip. The muscles in my jaw locked, and for a moment, I had to fight back the urge to let the rage take over. If Aaron had said those words to anyone else, they'd be dead by now.

I took a slow, deep breath, trying to keep the fury in check. My mind was racing, trying to piece together the fragments of this revelation. I had always known something was off, something unspoken between Violet and Xaden. But this? This was a betrayal I couldn’t even begin to understand.

"Why the hell didn’t she tell me?" I muttered under my breath, more to myself than to Aaron. The frustration in my voice was unmistakable. How could she have kept something so important from me? I thought we were finally on the same side. But now... now everything feels shattered.

Aaron seemed to savor the tension, watching me with a calculating look in his eyes. "I’m guessing she didn’t want to ruin whatever delicate bond you two have. Or maybe she was too proud to let you see her weakness. Either way, I doubt she’ll be thrilled when you find out the truth."

I didn’t care about that. I couldn’t care less what Violet thought of my reaction. Not when she had been abandoned like that. Not when she had been cast aside by someone who should’ve cherished her.

I lifted my chin, my eyes narrowing into dangerous slits as I fixed Aaron with a stare. "Give me Violet," I demanded, my voice a cold growl. "Now."

Aaron raised an eyebrow, as if he had been expecting this. "And why would I do that?" he asked, his voice still dripping with amusement. "Why should I hand her over to you? You seem so eager to protect her, but do you really think you’re in a position to make demands?"

I stepped forward, the anger within me boiling over, but I kept my voice level. "I’ll tell you how to bring down Xaden," I said, each word sharp as a blade. "I’ll tell you how to invade his pack, how to tear it apart from the inside. You want that? You want to know how to take him down? Because I have the information you need."

Aaron’s expression shifted slightly, curiosity flickering behind his cold eyes. For a moment, I thought I saw something in him—a spark of interest. But then it was gone, quickly replaced by the same smug look he wore like a second skin.

"You’re willing to give me your brother's weaknesses," Aaron mused, "for a woman?"
