Prince Asher's POV
I paced around in the room given to me by the school to stay in just until I was done with whatever I wanted to do. It was spacious and rich enough to be given to me, and even if it wasn't. I had no choice but to stay because I have to look for Ava by all means. The person who gave us the information that she was right here can't possibly be kidding.
Whether it is Ava's lookalike or Ava herself, I want to find out.
“Ava, for goodness sake, where are you?” I said under my breath.
Even if I haven't set my eyes on her, I can feel it that she's still in this school. Her scent is not even a stranger to my nostrils. With that, I can't just give up until I set my eyes on her or I confirm the students that are here.
Besides, if they really allowed Ava in, then this school might not be as pure and transparent as I think. They could have more secrets than allowing a female to be among the boys in the academy and not even mention it to anyone.
Even some of the boys, I have asked them if they have a female student or students in their school, and they declined it, even looking very innocent about it. So, this might be from the school authorities.
“You know what? I can't just sit idle and do nothing.” I said to myself and then walked out of the apartment.
I just need to meet with the principal, and maybe I'll be able to gain some information from him, and even if he wants to hide it, I'm going to continue to work my way around my questions until he mistakenly answers my questions.
With directions, I got to the principal's office but had to walk up to the secretary first.
“Good morning, Prince. Is there anything we may help you with?” She asked politely and with a smile.
“I want to see the principal.” I requested it of her.
“Alright, Prince. Please kindly wait so I can inform him of your presence and he can prepare to attend to you.” She said to me with a pretty smile and headed to the principal's office.
All this just to find Ava. Well, once I have whatever I need her for, then I don't really need to pretend for long, and we can get over whatever we need to get over with in a short period of time.
In about what seemed like a minute or two, she came outside of his office, still keeping up that same smile on her face, and she walked up to me.
“You can go in now, Prince.” She urged me and bowed.
If she only had to inform him of my presence, why did she need to spend even up to a minute inside his office?
Well, that's not going to be my concern. What I want to know about is what I have come here for and must get.
I walked right into the principal's office, and he smiled when he set his eyes on me. Then he rose to his feet.
“Welcome, Prince Asher. It's really nice again to have you in our school.” He said and extended a handshake to me.
I moved closer to him and received his handshake, and then we both sat down.
“So, to what pleasure do I owe your personal visit?” He asked me, revealing his good set of teeth.
“Yeah, well. I just wanted to know a few things about this school, Elite Academy.” I spoke, and he nodded his head slowly.
“Okay, that's no big deal, Prince Asher.” He said and chuckled.
I also smiled, happy that things seemed to be going smoothly, the way I wanted. But before I could ask my questions, he brought out a big book that looked old, yet very clean and attractive.
“So, I'll firstly start with why I was elected as the principal even when there were so many people who applied for this position. I come from a family that is educative and goes to any length to acquire the best education. They have also obtained different worthy educational titles, and even I myself have also done my best part in education. So, I am the best fit for this post.”
I didn't expect him to start with that, but hopefully, this was the last of what he wanted to say.
“Alright, so…”
“Yes, Prince. So as not to blow your mind with our educational success and general success, I'll move to the school.” He interrupted me and opened up the big book.
“Elites Academy was formed from a very funny experience in which I'm going to ask that you buckle up as it's going to be a bumpy ride.” He chuckled.
On and on, he spoke and told so many stories that made up the history of the school, and he told them with so much pride in him that I got bored and couldn't tolerate any of what I wasn't here for anymore.
He's definitely hiding something, and that's why he is telling me things that aren't really that necessary to me. He ought to know that I need more information other than this.
“And oh, yes. We have the records of the list of students in our school and those who will be joining this year as well. Please hold on while I bring them out.” The principal said and rose to his feet.
He began to check his shelves for the documents, and I watched closely as he did that, trying to be sure that he is sincere in showing me the list of students.
If I could just be patient for him to find it, then I'll be able to complete the puzzle of if Ava is here in this school or not.
Obviously, they'll keep records of all the students.
