67. ANGEL

“Deal,” Lucas said softly. “I have some papers I need you to read through and sign while I make a few calls. If all goes well, you will be my legal wife before lunch tomorrow.”

I smiled at him, but unease filled me at the mention of the papers he wanted me to sign. Nothing good ever came from those words.

Lucas placed me next to him and scooted to the edge of the couch to pick up a file from the coffee table. He opened it and held it out towards me.

I hesitated a moment before I took it from him.

“Don’t look so worried,” he said softly. “It’s nothing bad. I want to ensure that you are taken care of if anything ever happens to me, Nate, or Mason. I’m not saying it will, but I want to be prepared. You’ve met our parents.”

My eyes darted over the words on the paper.

“Everything we own now belongs to you as well. If we die, they can’t revoke your title, kick you out of the castle, or kill you. This will be your home until the day you die.”

“This is too much Lucas,” I told him.

“It’s not.” Leaning towards me, he cupped my cheeks. “I want to make sure that you’re taken care of. Once you’re queen, you’ll find out exactly how everything works. There are few people you can trust and a lot of people that will take advantage of you when you’re at your lowest.”

“I wouldn’t expect less from people,” I muttered. “You might be different but in reality, we’re all human.”

“True.” He smiled. “Read it through and make notes of everything you don’t understand so we can go through it later. I’m going to start making those calls.”

I watched him as he walked away and then focused my attention on the file he gave me. My brows dipped into a frown as I started reading again. Few of the things on paper made sense to me.

My eyes darted over to the coffee table and locked on the notepad and pen Lucas had placed there. Leaning forward, I grabbed it and settled on my stomach on the couch.

With the pen and notepad ready, I started making notes of things that didn’t make sense to me as Lucas talked softly on the phone.

His phone call took longer than I expected. By the time I was done, Lucas was still on the phone.

I bit my lips as I silently watched him, but then my attention dropped to the ring on my finger. I pulled it off and studied every inch of it. The stone couldn’t be a diamond because how did they manage to get the colours in it? Writing on the band caught my attention. I tilted it towards the light to read it.

My heartbeat increased as emotions flooded me.

My life, my mate. I love you forever.

He loved me.

I told Nate that I loved him. I loved all of them, but I wasn’t sure if Mason and Lucas felt the same about me.

My relationship with Lucas wasn’t exactly off to a good start. He scared the shit out of me and the way he forced me to drink his blood that first day we met didn’t exactly put him in my good books. But I started falling for him the more we spent time together.

The suggestion Mason made about carrying Lucas’s babies hadn’t turned me off. Unbeknownst to them, I had imagined myself pregnant despite what Lucas said.

Things were different.

We were getting married.

We were mated.

And the way things are going, very soon we would start our own family.

Pushing the ring back onto my finger, I stood and made my way over to Lucas.

I pressed a hand to his back and slowly slipped it down to the towel. He had tensed but relaxed when I placed my other hand on his back. My fingertips traced the raised scars I had felt before but hadn’t gotten to explore.

There were a lot of them. Small and bigger. Some of them had to have been deep to have scared.

Lucas turned around and reached up to pull me against his body. His head lowered and his lips brushed my forehead. The conversation on the phone continued but I paid no attention to it.

Turning my head, I pressed my lips to his skin. My eyes fluttered closed as I breathed in his scent. I gripped his hips and kissed my way across his chest to his nipple.

He sucked in a breath but didn’t stop me when I wrapped my lips around his nipple and swirled my tongue around the hard bud. His body reacted, but he made no move to push me away or pull me closer, which was perfect.

I loosened the towel and allowed it to drop to the ground as my lips moved lower.

A low growl fell from Lucas’s lips when I dropped to my knees and reached for his hard length. My eyes darted up to his but instantly lowered again.

He was a tall man and getting down on my knees in front of him didn’t exactly put me in the position I had in mine.

Silently cursing myself, I got up and pointed towards the bed.

Lucas raised an eyebrow.

My mind was already racing with ideas of what I could do if he refused to move, but thankfully Lucas followed the order and walked over to the bed. He stood next to it, lips twitching as he listened to the person on the phone.

Pressing a hand to the middle of his chest, I pushed, making him fall back onto the bed. The moment he was down, I climbed onto the bed and settled on my knees next to him.

My hand wrapped around the base of his cock and my head lowered. I licked my lips before I tasted him. Moaning, I parted my lips wider and took him deeper into my mouth.

I tensed when his fingers slipped into my wet hair, but he didn’t force my head lower. He held perfectly still while I gave him head. I had done it numerous times with Mason and a few times with Nate. Mason liked it more than the others.

“Make the arrangements,” Lucas snarled into the phone.

Fingers wrapped around my upper arm and in the next second, I was jerked up and on top of his body.

I blinked at Lucas.

He looked furious.

Uncertainty filled me. “Did I do it wrong?”

“No,” he growled. “I’m about to come.”

“Oh.” My body relaxed.

“You can feel us coming inside you, can’t you?” he questioned. “We come hard, little rabbit. I’ll choke you.”

I lowered my head to press my face against his skin.

Now it made sense why they always stopped me before they came.

Gripping my thigh, Lucas guided my leg to the other side of his hips. Both of his hands gripped my hips and lifted me slightly.

I moaned as his cock slowly entered me.

A gasp fell from my lips when he suddenly flipped us around.

He used his elbows to keep most of his weight off of me.

“We’re getting married,” he growled as he slowly rolled his hips.

“We are technically already married,” I whispered. “You marked me.”

Lowering his head, he brushed his lips against my mark, sending pleasure rushing through my body.

I wrapped around him, moving my hips with his, but Lucas kept up his slow movement.

“Faster,” I urged.

“Slow,” Lucas muttered.

“Do you mean it?” I asked him. “What you engraved on the ring?”

Lucas stilled and for a moment fear filled me. I was scared that I had ruined our moment. But then he smiled.

“I love you, little rabbit. Will you forgive me for being such an ass to you when we met?”

I blinked back tears and swallowed a few times to find my voice. “I love you too.”
