Chapter 167

Chapter 167
Madelyn’s POV

My lips curved into a smirk as I walked past Kieran. Yes, I  had made my intentions known; I needed him to know what was coming, and I wanted to see his effort. It would be more fun to watch him struggle and lose at the end of the day.

“Well done, child,” Elder Tatia patted me on the back as I walked up to her.

I smiled, and together we watched as the people, kids more especially, skipped around the school building, excited to be back in the building.

“Their Joy, it’s Contagious.” Another lady came up behind. I turned to look at her. “Thank you, Madelyn,” she added and walked away.

I was more than excited to see the smile on those children’s faces, and the faces of their parents; it meant a lot to me.

“Our star of the show,” Astra and Azrael walked up to me and stood beside me.

“You were awesome up there,” Astra whispered, as she gave me a light kiss on my cheeks.

“And you look beautiful by the way,” her eyes travelled down my body, as she assessed my dressing.

“Damn,” she exclaimed, and licked her lips dramatically, “Now I know why Nyx would go crazy over you, anytime, anywhere.”

“Astra, please stop” I sighed and we all burst into laughter, including Elder Tatia.

“So?” I eyed Azrael, and he cleared his throat, “I’ve been able to pass the message around, we’ll meet at the clearing this night,”

“And the girl who had left with Kent?”

“Her name is Sylvia, she’s not one of us, but as been with us here for a month now,”

I nodded, and smiled, I had watched Kent drive out of the pack, the day he left from the balcony, I had a feeling there was areason, he suddenly wanted to leave, and judging from the time he woke up to leave for the trip, I was right.

“Astra, a word please,” I pulled her away to a corner, before she even had the chance to protest.

“Elio’s crowning ceremony, is coming up i a few days time, and I might have to go home, sooner than I thought,”

“That’s true,” she slapped her forehead with her palm, “how could I almost forget?”

“Will you be coming home with me?”

I looked at her, and she lowered her gaze, I had a feeling I already knew the answer to my question.

“I’ll stay,” she muttered slowly, “Azrael doesn’t want to leave just yet, and I don’t think I want to part ways with him just yet as well,” she added softly and I nodded.

“Then I’ll leave you in charge, I trust you’ll doa good job,” her lips curved into a smile, and she nodded, I pressed my forehead on hers, and we stayed that way for a while, as the minutes rolled by.

“It’s about to rain,” Astra looked up, and I followed suit, only to notice the clouds that had gathered over us, I wasn’t even aware of when a smile formed on my lips.

From a distance, I could hear squeals, and shouts of joy, piercing through the atmosphere. Indeed the curse was gone.

I could understand their excitement, it had been months since they last saw a drop of water from the sky.

“You did it Madelyn,” she patted my shoulders gently, “Your parents must be so proud of you wherever they are now,” she added, and walkes away.

I nodded, as the first drizzle landed on me, soon, it was pouring. I was rootedd in my spot, too overwhelmed by excitement to move, when an ubrella was placed over my head.

I turned to find where it came from, and realised it was a guard, I appreciated the Kind gesture, but a part of me just wished he had allowed bask in the euphoria of the monent for a while.

“Let’s get out of here your highness,” he gestured with his hands, and I followed quietly, he had just dampened my joy, and I dout he even realized it, seeing as he was only just doing his job.

“Are you okay your highness?” he asked, and that made me realize I had stopped walking, I quickly shook my head, and continued the walk.

I stripped myself of the wet clothes, as soon as I got to to my room, and stepped into the bathtub.

After a long soak in the bathtub, I emerged from the shower, I drifted off, as soon as my head hit the bed.

A soft tap, a few hors later woke me up. I met Astra beside me, all dressed.

“It’s time,” she muttered, and I sprang up immediately, slipped on a leather pant, and a matching jacket, my hair remained in a ponytail, I put on my boots, and we walked oout of the room, a few minutes later.

The clearing was so quiet as we approached, I was beginning to feel there was no one there after all.

But to my surprise, it was packed to the brim, as I got there. Everyone with anticipation written on their faces.

“Welcome,” I smiled, as I stepped into the middle of the clearing,”

“I believe, I need no introduction, so I’ll get right to it,” I apused, and searched the crowd.

“What I am about to say, may sound a bit heavy, but it’s the truth,”

“We all have seen the recent developments, and I’m pretty sure,a majority of you here I’ve drawn the same conclusion as I have, Alpha Kieran is no longer fit to rule,”

I was expecting some kind of reaction, but surprisingly, everyone remained calm.

I inhaled deeply, then went on, “To this note, I think there has to be a change of leadership,”

“And who would that be? You?” A voice yelled from the crowd.

“No, not me, I'm already a queen, and I'm satisfied with my own kingdom, I think the better fit would Azrael, he has served you for years now,”

“He's not an Alpha,”

“says who?” I snapped back almost immediately.

“Listen to me you all, Alphas are not born, they are made, and trust me Azrael was made for this,”
