Hangover

“Why does my head hurt?” Melody groaned as she sat up on Rebecca's bed, holding her head with her hands.

“You had too much to drink last night. You are having a hangover. Here” Rebecca stretched out a glass of water and pills to Melody.

“Thanks” with a sigh, Melody drank the pill. She squeezed her face in disgust at the taste of the medicine before quickly washing it down with water.

Rebecca received the glass of water and kept it on the bedside table. She turned to peer at Melody's face with furrowed brows, checking to see if Melody would ask why she felt hot yesterday.

“What happened last night?” Melody asked.

Rebecca felt her shoulders slumped in relief. She was scared that Melody would remember and things would go bad.

“We went to the club, and you drank too much” Rebecca gave her a short explanation

Melody tried to nod but realized that it was a wrong decision when she felt like someone was banging on her head when she moved it, “I have never drank alcohol before. I wonder what I was thinking. Do we have classes today?”

“ It's Saturday”

“Thank God” Melody slid back on the bed and prepared to remain on it until her head stopped aching

“You should rest for a while before we go back home” Rebecca told her as she stood up and left the room to the living room where the other girls were waiting.

Arianna stood up when she noticed Rebecca's presence, “is she awake?”

Rebecca nodded as she rubbed her palms together and sank onto a couch," yes, and she does not remember any of what happened last night or this morning”

“ That's a good thing, right? “ Zain asked, uncertainty evident in her tone.

“ It's better for her. We don't want her hating club's, do we?” Samantha asked.

“ Now, we need to find the fucker that drugged her” Arianna said

“ Just leave that to me” Rebecca said

“Are you going to tell Alpha?” Zain asked fearfully. She has noticed that Rebecca and her family love Melody, and she was an important part of them, if they found out, all of them might be punished.

“I don't know,” Rebecca said as she slid down in her chair. She was exhausted from thinking. Hunter has not called her, so that means Matthew has not told him, he was giving her the opportunity to tell Hunter by herself.

“Maybe we should just keep it to our…”

The four girls jumped in fright when they heard the doorbell ring. They looked at each other wide-eyed.

“Who might that be?” Arianna asked, her butt half out of the chair.

Rebecca racked her brain hard for who might be at the door. It was just eleven in the morning. “Might be Morgan. I told him that I wanted to see him today'' she told them when she remembered the text she sent to Morgan. She remembered that she had not checked her phone to see if he had replied to her. He might have come to look for her.

“Thank God” the girls chorused as they slumped down on their site in relief.

Rebecca stood up and walked to the door. She threw it open and began to apologize immediately, “I'm sorry Morgan, I didn't…” the remaining apology froze in her throat when her eyes came in contact with cold black orbs that looked so much like hers.

It was Hunter. He was leaning on the door frame with his hands in his pants pocket and his legs crossed at the ankle.

He stood straight when she threw open the door and fixed his cold gaze on her, “Where is Melody?”

It took Rebecca a while before her head could register what he just asked. She could feel her heart pounding loudly in her chest. She has never been scared of her brother like the other pack members but she kept remembering his wolf reaction when he found out what happened to Melody. She knew that he tried to kill Micheal too. Alpha wolf's would never recognize anyone once they go on rampage.

Rebecca swallowed thickly as she threw open the door for him to come in. She knew that there was no way she could stop him from coming inside the house. “She's inside my room”

Hunter did not say another word. Just walked past Rebecca and inside the house. He ignored the girl's greetings and headed for Rebecca's room directly.

“I thought you said that it was Morgan. What is the alpha doing here?” Arianna jumped up and grabbed Rebecca's hand to shake her, immediately Hunter disappeared inside Rebecca's room.

“I don't know. I think Matthew called him” Rebecca said, cursing Matthew to hell in her mind. Just when she thought that he would give her the opportunity to tell Hunter herself he went ahead to report it to Hunter. She doubts that he likes her as Arianna thinks.

“Damn, we are done for” Zain collapsed to the ground in a heap.

“Come on, let's go check out what's going on” Samantha told them, her eyes shining in curiosity as she begs to make her way to Rebecca's room

“Don't. Don't add to our problems” Rebecca quickly stopped her.

Samantha hesitated for a while. Thinking about whether she should ignore Rebecca's warning or listen to it. In the end, the fear of offending Hunter and getting a bigger punishment made her curiosity die down.

Hunter pushed Rebecca's door open and peered inside. His eyes fell on Melody, who was holding her head with her hands as she sat on bed with her back against the headboard. She was frowning like she was in pain.

“Are you just getting up?” He asked as he shut the door and made his way to the bed.

Melody's head snapped up, and her eyes widened in surprise, but she groaned in the next second, “owww”

Hunter felt a sting in his heart as he sat down on the edge of the bed. Though, not very close to her. “Didn't Rebecca give you any drugs for your hangover?” he so wanted to reach out s s feel her forehead. Instead, he clenched his hands into fits in his pocket.

“ She did. It hasn't just kicked in” Melody said, and immediately she felt the headache disappearing slowly until her head stopped feeling heavy and until she could drop her hands down and her head wouldn't feel like it was going to fall off.

“What happened last night?”

Melody blinked as she fixed her gaze on Hunter. She was surprised to see him here in the girl's house. She has not thought of what she did last night. She only knew from what Rebecca told her that she went with them to the club and had too much to drink.

She was surprised because she had never tasted or dreamt of taking alcohol before. She wondered what must have pushed her into taking it. Her head had been feeling heavy, and she couldn't think of what happened yesterday; how she followed them to the club and how she got home.

“Eh? What happened last night?”
