Chapter 139 Chapter 139
CLAWS IN THE DARK

TIANA’S POV

As soon as the rogues leader finished speaking, heavy footsteps began to echo from the entrance, followed by low, guttural growls.

My blood ran cold.

“They’re here,” I whispered, gripping the sharp rock I had found earlier like a weapon. Seraphina pressed her body against mine behind the large boulder, her breathing shallow.

The leader of the rogues stepped into view first, his filthy, scarred body illuminated by moonlight which surged through the cave opening.

His eyes gleamed with cruel hunger as they scanned the darkness.

“Come out, little whores,” he snarled. “We can smell you. The mark is calling us to you. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”

Two more rogues appeared behind him, their cocks still hard and swinging obscenely as they moved.

The mark on my neck flared violently, sending another wave of unwanted heat through my body.

My pussy clenched involuntarily, slick dripping down my thighs despite the terror gripping my heart. I hated it. I hated how my body betrayed me even now.

Seraphina grabbed my arm. “We have to fight,” she whispered. “Together.”

I nodded, adrenaline surging through my body instantly.

The rogues spread out, sniffing the air. One of them moved closer to our hiding spot. But I didn’t wait for him to find us.

I lunged out from behind the boulder with a fierce cry and swung the sharp rock with all my strength, smashing it into the side of his head.

The rogue staggered back with a howl of pain, blood spraying from the wound.

Seraphina jumped out beside me, instantly. She kicked one rogue in the knee, but her blow was weak, almost half-hearted. When another rogue grabbed for me, she accidentally stepped in my way, causing me to stumble.

I barely avoided his grasp.

“Tiana, behind you!” she shouted, but her warning came too late. One of the rogues grabbed my waist from behind, his hard cock pressing against my ass through the torn gown.

I elbowed him viciously in the ribs and twisted free, spinning around to slash at his face with the rock.

Blood welled up from deep gashes across his cheek. He roared in fury and backhanded me hard across the face. Pain exploded in my jaw, but I didn’t fall.

The mark’s fire gave me strength, unnatural, desperate strength. I kicked him square in the balls and followed with a savage punch to his throat.

Seraphina was fighting too, but every time I gained ground, she seemed to hinder me, bumping into me, and slipping in front of me, making it harder for me to move freely.

I noticed it, but I had no time to question her.

The leader charged at me, but I ducked and rammed the sharp edge of the rock into his stomach.

He grunted but didn’t go down. Instead, he grabbed my hair and slammed me against the cave wall. The impact rattled my bones, but I drove my knee upward into his groin with everything I had.

He roared and released me, doubling over.

“Run!” I screamed at Seraphina.

We bolted toward the cave entrance, but two rogues blocked our path. One tried to pin me down, but I headbutted him, breaking his nose with a sickening crunch.

Seraphina was beside me, throwing weak punches, but again, her movements felt… off. Like she was slowing us down on purpose.

Or could it be that she's weak? As an Alpha that she is, I didn't expect that all.

"Let's go!" Seraphina yelled, cutting off my thoughts.

We barely made it out of the cave, when my legs burned, the mark sending confusing pulses of heat and dizziness through me.

Behind us, the rogues howled in rage, crashing through the underbrush in pursuit.

We ran until my lungs felt like they would burst. Seraphina suddenly tripped and fell. I stopped to help her up, but the rogues were closing in faster.

Just as one of them lunged for us, a deafening roar echoed in the dark.

Three massive wolves burst through the trees, black as midnight, eyes glowing with fury.

I didn't need anyone to tell me who these were. I could recognize them even from afar.

Ethan’s wolf was the largest, leading the charge.

He slammed into the lead rogue with bone-crushing force, tearing into his throat. Ezekiel and Ezra flanked him, ripping into the others with savage precision.

I collapsed to my knees in relief.

One rogue tried to grab me from behind in a final desperate attack. I swung around wildly, ready to fight, and nearly hit Ezra’s wolf form as he leaped to protect me.

Ezra shifted back to human in a fluid motion, catching my fist before it connected.

“Whoa, easy there, princess!” he said with a breathless, relieved laugh. “You almost knocked out your favorite brother. That would’ve been embarrassing.”

I stared at him for half a second, then threw myself against his chest, collapsing into his strong arms.

That's the last thing I memorized before everything suddenly went blank.
