Chapter 93: Time To Disclose All

Chapter 93: Time To Disclose All
Alpha Hemming's POV:

It was not that much longer before a decent number of men entered the room I was in. The one whom Lawrence had called Beta Maxwell, was right there along with them. Four of the other men walked to surround me, leaving no avenue for escape, even if I was thinking about it. All the while, Lawrence walked directly up to me in the center of the rest.

When he reached me, he looked me in the eye before he started to move past me to where the chain was connected to the pole sticking out of the center of the floor. Once the chain was free of the pole, he turned around to start walking back toward the door. However, he stopped walking as this man, Beta Maxwell, stood there... blocking his path. It was like he was taunting me with the look in his eyes.

"I hope, for your sake, that you remember everything about that particular day, as I'm sure your life will solely depend on it," he said in a condescending tone.

Then, after a moment, he stepped to the side so that Lawrence could lead me out of the room with the other guards who were walking around me. I wasn't sure what to think about it as we all walked out into the long, open corridor. The words he said were still ringing threats in my mind. I knew I had to be careful about how I might have worded something, but that still didn't take anything away from what I knew about what happened all those years ago. Everything I would tell them would be the truth.

However, the question comes down to one fact. That one fact would be whether they believed the words I would tell them to be the truth. Or, there was always the possibility they might think I'd be lying. I would at least hope they would consider my words truthful. I have no reason to lie otherwise.

Not much longer and I was led to another open door, not all that far from the other room I was being held in. We walked in and saw a young woman sitting in a chair right inside the door. I had to take a double look at her as she reminded me of my daughter that I had to leave behind.

My daughter... Oh, how I longed to see her again. I did wonder whether she was mated or still looking for her mate. I wished I knew what she was doing now. If she had turned out to be a bright young woman, as I had hoped she would.

"You will sit here," Lawrence said, snapping my mind back to the situation I found myself in. "Once you take a seat, we will begin shortly."

I did as he told me and sat down. Then he connected the chains to a pole sticking up from the center of the table as I looked over to the door. Well, at least I get to sit down this time instead of standing or sitting on the floor next to a wall with my hands over my head. I then turned back to look at the door.

I saw Beta Maxwell speaking with someone just out of view in the corridor before he turned to look back at me as he continued to speak. He saw me looking at him, and I continued to look at him to see what he would do.

Would he be the first one to look away, or would I? He, however, kept his eyes right on mine, just as I kept mine on his. Well, I guess we have come to an old-fashioned stare-off. After a moment, I didn't want to appear rude, so I gave in, turning back around to look in front of me.

After a moment, he seemed to finish his conversation with whoever he was speaking to, all before he entered the room and then quietly spoke to the woman behind me. I knew he was talking to her, as I could hear a feminine voice whisper in return.

Then he walked around me, with the woman walking around the backside of him. He went to sit down on the opposite side of the table. That's when I noticed she was carrying a small black, partly shiny box with three legs. Could this be the camera he mentioned earlier?

"I do hope you're ready to get started," he said, leaning forward in an intimidating sort of way.

"I am," I said, at first, as I leaned back in the chair I was provided with. "However, I do have one small request."

As I said that, I saw Lawrence enter the room again as he walked over to whisper something in Beta Maxwell's ear, all before he looked at me again and asked, "What is your request?"

"Well, you know my name already," I started to say, and then added. "I would appreciate it if I knew who I was talking to as well. Would you mind telling me your name?"

"Very well, my name is Beta Maxwell. You may refer to me as Beta Maxwell too. I am the Beta and second-in-command of all you see before you. His Highness is the rightful ruler of this nation and the most powerful Alpha that I have seen in a very long time. I only answer to Him. Does that about cover the introductions?"

"Yes, I appreciate your position as well," I told him, leaning forward again, placing my bound hands on the front edge of the table. "I don't mind telling you about who I am. The fact that you know my name is Hemming is one thing. The thing you don't know is that I was the Alpha of my pack. My Beta... on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. He was one of the ones who traveled with me to the rival nation. He was killed in the ambush right on their side of the border."

"You used to be an Alpha?" Beta Maxwell asked me questionably. "Of which pack?"

"The Blue Moon Pack, to be precise," I said at first. With that statement, I heard gasps from around the room. I then wanted to add something to drive my point home. "My name is actually Hemming Blue. I am the son of the one who created the Blue Moon Pack. I took over after him."

"You mean to tell me that your father's the one who created the Blue Moon Pack? As in the actual 'Horatio Blue?' It's almost as if he didn't believe what I told him.

"Yes, that's the truth as to who I'm," I said plainly and without all emotion.

With that, I looked over at Lawrence, and I could see the wheels turning in his head. I knew he was remembering who I was and where he had seen me before. He then looked over at Beta Maxwell and nodded that I was telling the truth.

Beta Maxwell then looked over at me and added, "Well then. Tell us all about the fateful day in question. The one when you were captured."
