Chapter 130: Will You Kiss Me or Shall I Kiss You?
Benjamin was extremely frustrated.
Sophia was bullied and hurt in her own home, yet she still refused to trust him.
All of these issues left Benjamin deeply irritated.
As Gabriel treated Sophia, Benjamin stood beside the bed with a stern expression.
He wanted to ensure Gabriel was really helping Sophia, and he hardly cared about his own injuries.
Sophia whispered to Gabriel as if she didn't want Benjamin to overhear.
She even pointed at Benjamin's injured hand with her delicate index finger as if she thought Gabriel might not see it.
A wave of pleasure surged through Benjamin, making his heart flutter with a blend of delight and discomfort.
Sophia said she wouldn't forgive him, but in reality, she was still anxious and caring towards him.
His wife had a tough exterior but a soft heart.
"Mr. Taylor, your wound needs stitches."
Gabriel said as he came over to check on Benjamin's injury, his voice filled with concern.
The cut on Benjamin's hand was deeper than Sophia's wounds.
If not treated soon, it could damage the nerves and render his hand useless.
Benjamin's expression was indifferent.
Just as he was about to speak, Sophia, more nervous than him, urgently asked, "How many stitches? Does it damage the nerves?"
Gabriel was a bit confused and overwhelmed.
He looked from Sophia to Benjamin, who seemed unconcerned about his own bleeding hand.
"Why are you looking at me?" Benjamin asked coolly, his voice casual yet filled with unnoticeable pride and pleasure. "Just answer her."
Gabriel decided to address Sophia instead, seeing that Benjamin wouldn't focus on himself.
"Mrs. Taylor, Mr. Taylor's hand can move freely for now, and it appears the nerves aren't damaged. He's just bleeding because it hit a superficial vein network. The wound is deep. It probably needs seven or eight stitches. The stitched wound can't be exposed to water, and the bandages need to be changed daily. Please remember to assist him with that."
Sophia's face was expressionless as she memorized Gabriel's instructions.
She looked up at Benjamin who was leaning lazily against the wall and watching her with a smug, tender smile.
Sophia paused, realizing that she had been overly concerned.
Why was she so anxious?
It was his hand, not hers.
What did it have to do with her?
After Gabriel answered Sophia's question, he looked towards Benjamin. "Let's stitch it up."
Benjamin's eyes twinkled with a light smile.
He looked completely relaxed as he nodded, "Let's go downstairs."
He liked that Sophia cared about him, but he didn't want her to see the gruesome scene of his injury being stitched.
"Just do it here," Sophia insisted, wanting to ensure his wound was properly handled.
It wasn't just out of concern for Benjamin.
He had been injured protecting her, so she needed to make sure he was treated before she could rest easy.
Gabriel began to prepare the medical supplies to treat the wound, but Benjamin suddenly walked away.
"Not here," he insisted.
Sophia furrowed her slim, graceful brows. "Why not?"
Benjamin walked over to her bed and leaned in close, his handsome features compelling, "Because... I don't want you to see."
Seeing her puffed-up face in annoyance, Benjamin couldn't help but break into an indulgent smile.
"Besides, I'm scared of pain."
What was he talking about?
Sophia frowned, baffled by Benjamin's words.
He was scared of pain yet he let his wound bleed freely.
"I might cry later..." Benjamin sighed dramatically, playing up his bravery. "Could you give me some encouragement?"
Sophia's face turned red, and she glanced at Gabriel and Laura, still standing in the bedroom, incredulous at Benjamin's shamelessness.
Gabriel, speechless, tossed a gauze to Benjamin to hold over his wound, then picked up his medical kit and waited outside.
Laura cleared her throat and followed Gabriel, leaving the couple alone.
Sophia glared at Benjamin, her gaze filled with displeasure.
Benjamin covered his wound with the gauze and glanced at his blood-soaked hand, still quite nonchalant.
Seeing the gauze quickly turning red, Sophia was both worried and annoyed.
"Go treat your wound!"
Benjamin looked down, his eyebrows furrowing slightly in a hesitant expression.
"I'm scared of the pain..."
Sophia scoffed, struggling to believe he had the audacity to utter those words.
Benjamin sadly watched his blood-stained gauze, looking pitiful like a frightened child about to get vaccinated.
Sophia's lips twitched, and her heart softened despite suspecting he might be pretending.
"What do you want?"
Her voice was gentle yet clearly impatient as if she wanted to get rid of him quickly.
Benjamin pursed his lips. A quick, sly smile crossed his face before he looked up at Sophia with a very sincere, pitiable expression.
"Kiss me," he said quietly.
Sophia remained silent, eyes wide.
He was so shameless!
In reality, Benjamin would go anything to get close to her.
"If you won't kiss me, let me kiss you," he negotiated.
Although he preferred Sophia to initiate, he wasn't too picky under the circumstances.
She wasn't easy to coax and still held grievances from the past.
Sophia was speechless.
She had never seen anyone so shameless in all her twenty-four years.
Benjamin had been so aloof and proper before, and now, to trick her into kissing him, he was using every underhanded tactic, even exploiting his own injury!
Benjamin really knew how to play the victim.
He didn't rush Sophia to decide.
Instead, he quietly sat on the bed, fiddling with his wound right under her eyes.
Lifting the gauze to expose the bleeding wound, he aimed to tug at her heartstrings.
Sophia couldn't stand it anymore. "Hurry up!"
Successful in his ploy, Benjamin smirked triumphantly.
He leaned his face close to Sophia, "So, will you kiss me, or shall I kiss you?"
Sophia turned her head and briskly pecked his cheek.
Then, coldly, she turned away.
"There, now get lost."
