Chapter 180 Uncle
Chapter 180 Uncle
"Then thank you so much, Ms. Jones." Victor agreed right away.
If it weren't for his father, he really didn't want to make Joanna suspicious or cause any misunderstandings at such a critical time.
So Mr. Idris got the chance to video chat with Sandra.
And Joanna watched their first video call too.
Sandra was quite curious about Idris suddenly appearing in the livestream, but when Joanna told her this was Victor's father, and since she had a good impression of Victor from their last meeting, Sandra remained polite.
"Mr. Idris, how are you feeling?" Sandra asked casually.
But Idris seemed very excited, holding his phone and pacing around anxiously. It wasn't until a servant brought out the little doll he usually liked to hold that he suddenly got excited and waved it at the screen.
"Like it, like it."
Sandra was a bit confused by Idris's behavior.
But knowing that Idris was sick, she didn't think too much about it and just smiled, saying, "It's pretty nice, I like it."
Idris suddenly laughed, threw the doll on the ground, held the phone with both hands and shouted at Sandra, "Sandra likes it, Sandra likes it."
Sandra was surprised, thinking Joanna must have told Mr. Idris her name.
Without thinking much of it, she chatted with Idris for quite a while.
Although Idris had some dementia, he seemed very concerned about what Sandra liked, constantly asking questions and talking to himself, as if trying to remember these things.
After they hung up, when Victor got home, Idris immediately told Victor about all these things and asked him to prepare them.
Victor explained many times that even if he prepared the shrimp Sandra liked to eat, there was no way to invite Sandra to come eat at their house.
Idris was very unhappy and threw a tantrum for a long time. Victor, with a headache, sent Joanna a message asking for help.
When Joanna saw it, she was also puzzled and joked with Victor, "I keep feeling like those two know each other somehow."
Victor paused for a moment and replied, "Your mother's age might actually be similar to my sister's, but she passed away a long time ago. I don't even remember what she looked like."
Since this touched on such a sad topic, Joanna didn't ask more.
She just video called Idris and gently coaxed him to rest and take his medicine.
And when facing a face so similar to Sandra's, Idris didn't show any resistance at all.
This warm scene made Victor feel emotional. If his sister were still alive, she might really be able to handle his father's stubborn personality.
The livestream video calls continued for several days.
Until Idris suddenly had an episode and was admitted to the hospital. Victor contacted Dr. Bruce, wanting to have Idris transferred to the nursing home too.
Now the nursing home only had Sandra as a patient, with all other patients transferred to different hospitals, so this request was sent to Joanna and Angelo.
In this tense situation, Joanna actually didn't want Mr. Idris to come to the nursing home either.
Joanna contacted Victor directly, explaining the current situation at the nursing home - security was very tight, and she didn't want outsiders disturbing her mother's recovery.
After thinking carefully, Victor said, "If my father really does recover at the nursing home, I'll definitely strengthen security, which will also help protect your mother. You've seen these past few days that my father has a strong tendency to feel close to your mother. As a son, I don't want to disappoint my father, but I also understand your feelings as a daughter. I hope my father can be transferred to the nursing home for recovery. This won't harm you in any way. Ms. Jones, please think about it seriously."
Victor's tone was too sincere.
Joanna also felt bad about taking up all the nursing home's medical resources.
She asked Luke about it.
And Luke also shared his thoughts, "I think Mr. Victor is right, Joanna. He can bring security forces to make your mother safer, which is a good thing. As for Mr. Victor's character, I think you can trust him. I've known him for so many years, I understand what he's thinking. He just hopes his father's illness can be cured."
"Okay, I understand." Joanna's heart was hesitant.
Having Idris move to the nursing home actually had both advantages and disadvantages.
But with Luke and Dr. Bruce vouching for him, it seemed to prove that Victor was trustworthy.
What made Joanna agree was when Sandra took the initiative to ask her, "Why hasn't Mr. Idris been on video calls anymore?"
Joanna explained Idris's current situation.
Sandra was a bit worried. "Should he be transferred to the nursing home? Dr. Bruce is very skilled, maybe he can treat Idris?"
Only then did Joanna realize that she was the one who had introduced Dr. Bruce to Idris in the first place.
So when Idris had an episode, the best doctor Victor could think of and contact would only be Dr. Bruce.
Her mother's situation was indeed special, but she shouldn't selfishly help Dr. Bruce refuse all other patients just for her mother's sake.
"I understand. I'll go talk to Dr. Bruce about it." Joanna finally agreed. "But Mom, you must remember what I told you - try to have less contact with strangers, and if anything seems wrong, call security or the doctor."
Sandra nodded and smiled, "Don't worry, your mom isn't a child."
Joanna didn't stop Victor and her mother from meeting anymore.
And it was after Idris was transferred in and underwent comprehensive physical testing that things took a more dramatic turn.
Dr. Bruce urgently called both Victor and Joanna to the nursing home and had them do blood tests.
Thirty minutes later, he told them very seriously, "I think you two are blood relatives."
Both Joanna and Victor were stunned.
They looked at each other for a long time, then turned their confused gazes to Dr. Bruce.
Dr. Bruce explained, "Because Mr. Idris just transferred in, we did a comprehensive examination on him. This included blood testing. Due to Ms. Sandra's special situation, I paid attention to the blood work, and that's when I discovered that Mr. Idris's blood also seemed special. I had already gotten confirmation from Mr. Victor when I went to Valeria - he did suspect his father was also part of the special blood group. That's why I specifically made testing equipment, and after the equipment was ready, we tested Mr. Idris and confirmed our suspicions were correct."
At this point, Dr. Bruce looked up and pushed his glasses. "When I saw Mr. Idris's blood test results, they seemed familiar, so I compared them with Ms. Sandra's. The comparison showed that the two are very likely related. I called you both here for blood tests this time, which further confirmed my thinking. Based on age calculations, Ms. Sandra is very likely Mr. Idris's biological daughter."
