Rose hugged Kenzie tightly. Her body trembled remembering that she was about to lose the little boy. Rose's argument with Robert wakes Kenzie. The boy was crying loudly. "Ssh … sshh, Honey. All is well." Rose patted Kenzie's back gently and slightly shook her body to calm the boy down. "Rose… why are you mad at that guy? He was just trying to help us." Romeo looked at Rose in disbelief. "Don't trust anyone, Dad. You can only trust me. Remember that, Dad." said Rose firmly. She was very worried that the same thing would happen again. She cast her eyes around the street especially in the direction where Robert had disappeared. Rose was afraid that the man would still be standing somewhere and then reappear. "Are you all right?" The firefighters stared at Rose and her family. "We're all right." Rose smiled faintly at the man before her with sad eyes. "Sir, I will take my family to a nearby inn and return immediately." "All right, Miss. One of the investigating officers will be waiting for you when he's done." "Thank You." Rose nodded respectfully at the officer. Rose asks Dulce to help Romeo get up from his seat. They walked to the nearest inn which was ten minutes away on foot. Romeo's unwell condition makes the man walk with difficulty. "Aunt Rose, why are we walking in different directions?" Kenzie, who wasn't crying anymore, wiped his tears. The boy looked at Rose in surprise. "We'll be staying at the hotel tonight." Rose kissed Kenzie's cold cheek. "Why all of a sudden? Let's go home first, Kenzie hasn't brought spidermen and bodbods yet." Rose's heart ached at Kenzie's request. She realized that it had become a habit for the boy to kiss and look at the spiderman robot before he went to sleep. Kenzie always hugs his favorite oddbods doll when he sleeps. "Just this once, Kenzie doesn't have to sleep with them. Tomorrow Aunty will bring it for Kenzie, how about it?" Rose tried to be able to negotiate with the boy. "No! No! Kenzie wants spiderman and bodbods." Kenzie shouted in protest. "Tomorrow, Kenzie. Look at how tired Grandpa is." Rose pointed at Romeo who was walking unsteadily. The woman's feeling was very tight, for a moment she walked in the void. The rush of traffic at night, Kenzie's whimpering in her arms, Romeo and Dulce's wobbly steps, it all revolved in the whirlpool of her feelings, sinking so deep into the bottom that the pain was so intense it was excruciating. "Rose. Rose. Roseeee!" Dulce's high-pitched shriek brought back Rose's consciousness. The woman unknowingly continued to walk past the small inn on the narrow street, until Dulce's screams were heard. Rose immediately turned around and tried to calm Kenzie who continued to sob. "Kenzie, honey. Shall we stop by for some milk and snacks first, shall we?" Rose took Kenzie into the mini market beside the inn. The woman bought four bowls of instant noodles, some mineral water and bread. She didn't have much cash, Rose realized she had to save money. "Aunty, Kenzie wants this." The little boy brought a big box of chocolate milk and some snacks. "Just the little milk, Honey." Rose smiled at the pouting Kenzie. "There is no refrigerator in the hotel, so the milk can be damaged." Rose's explanation could be understood by the smart boy. Kenzie put the milk box back and took out two small boxes. "Two huh?" he pleaded. Rose nodded. Her heart was sad because she couldn't buy a big box of milk for Kenzie. Before heading to the cashier he remembered the toothbrush and soap. Rose then paid at the cashier and the money in her purse was twenty dollars less. They then headed back to the inn. Rose was forced to book the smallest room with two small beds. Luckily they had a bed on the first floor, so it wouldn't bother Romeo. "Did Aunt bring Kenzie's nightgown?" The boy was surprised to know that no clothes bag was brought in the room. Rose and Dulce looked at each other sadly. The clothes they currently have are clothes that are still attached to the body. They have nothing but each other. "I'm sorry Aunty. Kenzie sleeps in this outfit. Tomorrow we'll buy a new one, how about it?" Because he was already feeling sleepy Kenzie nodded his head. He immediately climbed into bed and did not forget to pray before lying down. "God, thank you for today. We are going to sleep, to protect Kenzie and the family. Oh yes, please take care of the bodbods and spiderman. Thank you, God." Kenzie's innocent prayer touched Rose. "Kenzie sleeps with Nanny first. Aunt Rose has something to do with it." Rose kissed Kenzie's forehead gently. "Dulce, don't open the door for anyone unless I come back." Rose's worried message. Robert suddenly appeared and took Kenzie away. "Yes, Miss." "Dad, get some rest. I'll see how our shop is." After saying goodbye Rose rushed back to the shop. She ran along the sidewalk ignoring the gazes of others. Arriving in front of the shop, Rose saw that the officer was waiting for her. "Miss, have you come?" "What--how--w--what caused the fire?" Rose spoke breathlessly. The officer looked at Rose sympathetically. "Electric short by the fridge downstairs." Rose's body shivered hearing that, she always did routine electrical checks, so how could something like that happen? Rose looked into the blackened building. "Th--may I come in?" Rose looked at the officer pitifully. He couldn't just walk in because the yellow police line had been glued on the front door. "I have to see if there's anything to save?" The officer felt sorry for Rose's condition, he finally allowed it and asked a subordinate to provide information for Rose. Rose entered and saw that the entire contents of the first floor had been burned. The cash register was open, probably because the pressure from the heat made the lock open. Rose looked at some of the bills she could still salvage. 'Thanks God.' With a sad feeling, Rose went up to the second floor, where the situation was not much different from the ground floor. Tears welled up in her eyes when she saw the table where she kept her family photos and Kenzie's childhood album burnt down. What surprised him was that the walls of the room weren't too black, but how could the fire have scorched everything. Rose almost squealed with joy when she saw that spiderman and oddbods weren't on fire. The two objects she found were sitting under the burnt glass table. Rose carefully removed the broken glass with her foot, to pick up the two objects. He carefully cleaned the two objects from the remaining dirt of ashes. Now her eyes searched for a small box where she always kept Romeo's passport, birth certificate, and Green card certificate. Very important securities for those who are not native citizens. "No! No! That important letter must not be forfeited." said Rose hoarsely as she removed the remaining burning wood with her feet. "Miss, don't do it! It's dangerous." Officers pulled Rose's body when she saw sparks coming out from behind the rest of the wardrobe door.
