Rose was stunned to hear the words of the police. What would happen to her father and nephew if she ended up in prison? Rose was getting dizzy and restless. The fear was so strong that it made her whole body shiver with cold sweat dripping down. She glanced at the nameplate on the table, the policeman was named Sebastian. Rose lifted her head slowly and turned to face the faces that had bullied her for a long time. Strangely, Sebastian didn't seem happy when the offer to imprison her was made. "If she is imprisoned, can we still get compensation?" Mr. Oswaldo's question explained the astonishment in Rose's heart. The woman laughed inwardly, ridiculing her own mind that thought if everyone sympathized, pity her. In fact, they are all only worried about the compensation money. That's right, money and former neighbors who will vote for the ex? "I will pay in installments little by little the money you want." Rose wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Just give me some time." It's a tough choice, but one that must be made rather than imprisoned, which will leave Romeo and Kenzie even more stranded. Handing Kenzie over to that heartless doctor would never happen! "In installments? How long are you going to do it?" Again Mr Oswaldo attacked him. The man didn't stop barking and cornering Rose, making everyone difficult for the girl. I don't know what kind of grudge the richest man in Rose's area has, that he keeps on making it hard for him to breathe. "Yes. How long? We need capital to start the business. Think about it!" The screams of the bullies did not stop, making everyone who saw him look back at them. "Then what do you want? I only have ten thousand dollars. You take it and distribute it and then accept my request, or just let me go to jail. Is that what you want?" Rose can't stand still with all their attitudes that corner her. "You're really good at talking, doesn't your brother work on a cruise ship? I think he has a lot of money." Mrs. Kenneth snorted in annoyance. "Or you can sell yourself to a rich man. You're still very beautiful." Jack's words hurt Rose's feelings. "You! I think of you as my brother! I consider all of you as my family, Mrs. Kennet, Mrs. Melan, I think of you as my mother, but why dont you all have the heart?" Rose's lips trembled, she spoke every word with a broken heart. Neither of them answered Rose's question. Even the people that Rose mentioned by name, looked away. Now, they feel that the villain in that place is not Rose but herself. "I don't ask for pity and I won't run away from responsibilities. Just, please give me some time. Let me find a decent place to live for my family and get back to work, raising money for all of you." Rose wiped away the tears she had been struggling to keep from falling since earlier. "Miss…." Sebastian handed Rose a box of tissues. "Well now I will witness Miss Rose with her commitment to pay compensation to all of you." The policeman then typed something on his computer and printed it. "Here it says Miss Rose as the first party and all of you as the second party, please sign." Full of obedience, they lined up and signed the agreement. Everyone gets a copy of the agreement, as does Rose and the police, signed by Sebastian. After holding the letter they smiled with satisfaction and left Rose just like that. They don't care anymore, because everything has been handled according to each person's wishes. "Thanks for your help, Police Sebastian. Tomorrow I'll start transferring some to each one." Rose stood up, but just as she was about to take a step, the girl staggered. "Miss!" The young policeman turned around and immediately approached Rose. "You're so pale." "I am alright." Rose was about to stand up again, but Sebastian stopped her. "Wait here a moment." The man then walked over to the machine selling sandwiches, he put in a few dollar bills and pressed the button for five sandwiches. "Take it and eat this." "No need, Sir--" "Call me Sebastian." Rose nodded and reluctantly accepted the gift from the kind policeman. She then said goodbye and left accompanied by pitying eyes by them. The girl didn't like being in the spotlight and getting pity from others, but this time she couldn't avoid it. Rose, who prefers to pay attention and help others, finds this situation too confusing. She walked back to the motel worrying about her family who hadn't had lunch. These five sandwiches are certainly enough to suffocate a hungry stomach. She was grateful that Dulce was still with them and not run away. "Rose!" Hearing that voice seemed to be a trauma in itself for him. Rose continued to walk ignoring the man in a black shirt with a mask covering his handsome face. Without having to take the mask off, he already knew who the man who was following him from behind was. "Stop following me!" shouted Rose fiercely. Even though her face was pale and tired of covering her whole body, the girl still had the winning spirit to fight with the man. "I will not stop following you, until you give up custody of my child!" "What kid? You never admit it and try to protect yourself when the opportunity arises! Stop troubling yourself and enjoy your freedom, doctor Robert Miller!" "I admit it, but now it's my responsibility to protect the child. Comfort you can't give." Robert's words made Rose stop for a moment. Deep in her heart, she realized the truth of the man's words. Convenience… she couldn't give it to Kenzie. Only, why did Robert have to come back when it was so late? "He's my son! I'll take care of him and provide for him." Rose insisted on believing in herself that the decision she had made was the best. "With what do you make ends meet, if you currently have nothing. Are you going back to begging Conrad and Jasmine, messing up my sister's household?" Robert's words were like arrows that pierced Rose's heart. "Stop following me, or I'll yell at everyone?" Rose turned around angrily and just then in the distance she saw several people she thought were reporters. "Hey you guys! Doctor Robert Miller is here!" Rose's loud scream made Robert panic. Rose gave a muffled shriek as Robert quickly dragged herself down a narrow, lonely alley. She was pushed against the wall with the distance between them so close. The girl did not move, trapped in the big body of the handsome doctor. The scent of Robert's masculine freshness wafted into her nostrils, making Rose almost fall asleep, before finally coming back to her senses when she heard someone screaming.
